Man it's scary when you fight a zombie and realize the other person is actually logged in and fighting back. And that they have a better chance to hit than you do. Escaped just in time!
Urban dead is fun but heavily weighted towards high level undead.
You knock em down? They stand up again for 1AP at full 60 health with a flak jacket, then proceed to coordinate attack times, knock your barricades down, storm in, infect everyone and munch on braaains.
You survivors must realize that playing urban dead is just a game of staying alive until the horde comes to thrash you.
Yep. That's the game, dude - surviving as long as possible.
Zombies don't even need flak jackets or Body Building now. With Flesh Rot, they get the same effect from a single skill.
If I were to rebalance the game, I'd make the zombies a little dumber. Make their map unrecognizable - they can see other zombies and survivors, but their map is just 'a building' 'a tall building' 'a graveyard'. They can see the sprays and barricade status of the square they're in, but everything's just a little more hazy. It'd cut out the organisation factor and make it more of a traditional zombie apocalypse.
Sure, you can still roam around as a horde, but it's a lot more guesswork and instinct. Although of course there would be FF tools out within the week to negate it.
EDIT: MSPaint mockup!

Um...
Staying alive until the zombie horde comes to thrash me is EXACTLY what I want out of a zombie game. What could possibly be bad about that?
Yeah Stark is doing fine for now. I'm about to hit 50 AP, does anyone know where the nearest NecroTech building is with lights on so I can get some syringes for the inevitable slaughter?
Edit: Still 15 FAKs, waiting for someone with infection or to drop below 20 HPs, I'll be picking up the skill that ups my FAK healing to 10 per use to be more effective since I'm already like level 5, I dont need FAKs to level anymore.
I've retreated to the NecroTech building in Osmondville and I'll be hoarding syringes to later revive everyone who needs it. Spotted 7 zombies outside of Stark and another 13 standing at Ledward.
Hey Colt, if you're still by Pole Mall tonight I could use a rez. They dumped me outside the southeast corner, so yeah. I'll be standing up at about 11 pm EST, unless you'd rather get on at a different time.
I just don't want my head bashed in my random people, and I'd rather not waste AP going to the RP and risking that happening anyway.
Since zombies coordinate far beyond the capabilities of your average movie/book zombie, survivors should get access to weapons to attack zombie hordes..grenades, flame throwers, IEDs, etc.
They should be limited to certain circumstances, but should counter the overwhelming advantages of off-game zombie coordination and spies.
There are currently 3 zombies at Cort, 9 outside stark, and 12 in Ledward Park. There's also another 6 at Bentley Hotel. I finished off the 8 hp zombie at Cort, as well.
I'm holed up back in Stark with 31 AP and no useful skills. Here's to another night of survival.
I'm having fun ducking out of my hiding place and knocking off stragglers. Also, I'm collecting art to help decorate Stark HQ when the trouble passes. Good for morale and what not.

Yeah it's just vaguely irritating that no matter how many survivors you gather, coordinated zombie attacks are far too powerful to counter given the current game mechanics, there's no possible way. I've played since early last year, am level 41, and from my experience most of survivor existence wavers between really boringly sitting around or getting eaten by 150 zombies. Maybe it's just at max level when you have no other skills to buy.
I've played human, zed, and I'm currently PKing as it's the only interesting thing to do in the game right now.
I think I could only PK people who do it themselves.
PK Hunter or something, that way at least you'd be avenging someone or something like that and not just flat out killing some newbie trying to get some skills.
Yeah, I'm gonna have to say that I'm a bit disappointed in the weapon selection, and how once you get one they work forever.
On a different note, I found a random level one survivor while I was dicking around my first day, and I'm trying to head to Scarletwood with her. It's actually lots of fun trying to coordinate movements with someone with whom you have so limited communication, making sure you both get to the same place in one piece.
I could see things getting a little stale once you get to the point that you're practically self-sustaining, but sticking with a small group that has specialized skills really has the proper feel of a zombie game to me. I'm really enjoying myself so far.
Currie needs it's barricades reinforced, they were down to light before I got there, I brought them up to QSB++ at least, but ran outta AP. There's one zed outside, I figured it was ours till I popped in and saw the lowered 'cades.

Hey, anyone online and at Currie, I'm on my way there now and I'm in a bad way. Zed knocked down my barricade while I was logged, took a good chunk out of me. Any heals would be appreciated.

Haha, I've been bouncing back and forth munching on the zeds outside of stark then popping back into ledward.

Alright, he's up to 41, but I'm going to hang onto my other 4 FAKs just in case we get some refugees from Stark with an infection.

I do think that the weapon system needs a serious overhaul though, all weapons should be viable in their own way.

I think we can get through this if we use our AP wisely.

The barricades are down to quite strongly barricaded if anyone can build them back up...I don't wanna die!
Edit: I just went and got 3 revivification syringes with the AP I had, hopefully I will be alive tomorrow to use some!

The PKers are the problem.
Currie is currently VSB.
Yeah, it's very easy to PK around malls, as they are a steady supply of ammo and warm bodies
