...even a slight fever? Because if my temp is even 100 degrees and I have the sniffles, I tend to have the weirdest waking/sleeping dreams and they are really, really bothersome.

Not that I know of... I'll take a dose of Theraflu at night, that tends to help knock me out so that at least I'm not getting the waking dreams.

Give it a day or two and the fever will go down.

you could try not having a fever :P

    sorry

I don't know anything about this, but i imagine trying to keep your brain stimulated when you are awake might help keep it from making up its own rules... ? good luck.

Unfortunately, western cultures frown upon arranged marriages, so the vast majority of people have to take risks in order to get into relationships.

If the fever's mild (104F or below) and lasts for under three days, some over the counter anti-fever (Tylenol, Ibuprofen, aspirin) should work. If the fever lasts more than three days or ever gets above 104F, see a doctor.

every person who doesn't like an acquired taste always seems to think everyone who likes it is faking it. it should be an official fallacy.

the "no true scotch man" fallacy.

if you want to break the fever you could take ice baths. don't stay in for longer than a few minutes.

    This is your best bet.

I find Nyquil generally gives me dreamless sleeps. I think it's the anti-inflammatory/alcohol combination. But everyone is different.

I'm not a doctor, but I believe that alcohol does do a good bit to suppress REM sleep (yay psych 101...), and thus Nyquil would probably have this effect on most people. I second the Nyquil suggestion.

FYI - they reformulated NyQuil. It is nowhere near as strong as it was a few months ago. They did it to keep it on the store shelves and out from behind the pharmacy counter.

The new formula may only be in the US.

Now that you mention it, I remember hearing that...

I guess you could always just drink a screwdriver before bed and get a delightful blend of vitamin C and alcohol. I find that they work remarkable well on colds (note: this is likely due to drunkenness making me forget I have the cold), but I don't know how much vitamin C will help a fever.

when i took nyquil when i was sick a few months ago, i had the most vivid, intense and basically weird dreams for the entire night, and it was such a heavy sleep it felt like waking up out of a coma the next morning

If you're already sick, drinking alcohol to block REM sleep is probably not the greatest idea.

Nyquil does the same thing to me. Actually being sick in general tends to promote dreaming with me. It definitely helps with getting good sleep though. If I'm sick and I take Nyquil I generally feel decent enough the next day to get going and gut it out.
