Speaking of survivability, who would you guys say spends more time dead and/or running back from the spawn point in scenarios? Slayers/Choppas, or Bright Wizards/Sorcs? Both have a degree of control over how easily they die.

From my experience as a 23 BW, I usually hover around the back lines just AoEing and throwing Ignite and Detonate and such up on folks and it all depends. If our front line sucks or we barely have any tanks, I die alot as the Choppas and DoKs and so forth are able to get at me. If we have a solid front line though, and no one really pays attention to me, I barely ever die at all. Also, when I see any melee folk of any sort run at me I Fire Cage and flee so that helps too. I would say Choppas die more, they have to get up close and personal to kill things so they are instantly the first target of everyone. When I see a bunch of Choppas charge I usually just wait a second and then AoE em down after they build up their rage. I feel I am about as tough as wet tissue paper but no one really pays attention to me most of the time.

Also, as long as a BW pays attention to their Combustion and brings it down every so often so they don't kill themselves from explosions they're usually fine.

New from the latest Grab Bag: Keep upgrades.

"Q. How will Keeps be upgradeable? Cosmetically? Extra merchants? Stronger Guards? On that note, how will they be upgraded? Will it be dependent on number of kills made while you own the keep? Time you hold it? Or just claim the Keep and bam, its upgraded?

    A. Keeps will have many different kinds of upgrades: Merchants, Doors, Guards, etc. Guilds will have to claim the keep then interact with a Keep Upgrade NPC to get things going. We’re really excited about this new system and can’t wait to show it to you. Keep your eyes peeled for more information as the system moves through testing and gets closer to the live servers."

This has great potential, especially if your guild makes it a habit to siege the keep of a rival guild. Oh the enmity this could generate.

Morsk gave invite privileges back to my wife (Macadamia) as well since she's on pretty regularly during the day, so she can get folks into T6M as well if you're one of those "need to get a job" types. :)

And yeah, Iron Rock is a GREAT server with a very active RvR crowd. Hell, I've leveled from 24 to 28 and hardly touched a PvE quest. The only thing T6M is lacking at the moment is a good alliance and I'm pretty sure that Morsk is working that angle already.

I've been playing more and more this past week and I'm enjoying the game I'm just having trouble pegging down what class to play and what server to play on. I have a r15 DoK on Iron Rock but with the queues and the asshattery I was encountering in the T1 and T2 SCs made me roll a Mara (also r15) on Phoenix Throne. I like the stricter naming policies. Call me what you will but I nerd rage every time I see Ipwnu or what have you.

I made the mistake of reading through the forums though and according to those crying foul on the Mara board a lot of r40 Marauders are quitting or rerolling because they claim the class is really underpowered right now. Whether true or not it still makes me apprehensive about playing the character for now.

My problem is just indecisiveness. Once I get over the initial shock of playing a new MMO I should be good. I'd love to play with a group and I'd be open to suggestion, I'm normally on 7-11(ish) EST. Anyone in the higher tiers on Iron Rock, does it get any better?

Well Marauders are getting a good looking at in the next patch. I assume they will have a lot of changes, generally positive. But that doesn't necessarily mean you will enjoy the specific flavor changes that will be made to the class.

no disrespect intended, but I don't think you can blame the candymancers for TSM's inability to get a good guild population going

bottom line, people are going to roll where they want to roll and guild with whatever guild they think will best meet their needs
you've said it before, TSM has always been pretty fractured
I think your guild's biggest problem is that your only apparent purpose is as a home for destro PAers on IR and time is demonstrating that's not that compelling to most of the players here for a variety of reasons
I can attest that IR is not a ghost town but it definitely sounds like your guild is pretty quiet

    again, not attacking you
just giving my perspective on why you shouldn't be jumping on the 'mancers for recruiting

Nothing wrong with reading the boards.

Just treat everything anyone says as untrue unless there is some evidence for it of some sort. Or if it sounds convincing, test it first.

Otherwise don't listen to it at all.

If you do this, you will manage to sift out the actually helpful and interesting posts about game mechanics and class builds from the people flapping metaphorical lips at each other.

As far as marauders are concerned, they still do good damage and have decent surviability. Can they continuously spam their AoE disables and disorients to make their opponents completely unable to play? No. That stuff had to get fixed. Several of the marauders and witch elves that "relied" on their advantages have re-rolled or left the badlands server. The fighting has actually gotten better as the sides have gotten better balanced. Will a marauder win in a 1v1 with a tank class? Probably not. Can they take down other dps classes? Maybe. Can they take out healers solo? Eh, with the buff to healing... they'll have to work at it. A few white lions I know are saying the same; they're not doing enough in the fights. Hopefully both will get their concerns answered (if any are actually there, I'm talking to you Mork) without further imbalances.

Now, I have yet to see any Candymancers put down The Six Mouths. If I had more time (stupid work) I'd have at least an alt or 2 with them and enjoying seeing the other side of the fence. No one's trying to "steal" players or saying "that side sucks, come with us" (well, not seriously). Personally, I just want people to play the game because it rocks. If there's someone from these forums who is on a server and not finding the game experience they want, I, and everyone I've seen so far, have STRONGLY suggested they hook up with the great communities found here at PA. Is TSM smaller than they were a few months ago? Yes, but that just means those members don't get lost in the crowd. Candymancers are the same way (we're not "that" much larger), and I would hate to lose that feeling of knowing the people I'm playing with. Anyone who doubts the strength of EITHER guild really has no idea what they're talking about.
