Oh hey I was just posting about this in the MMO forum, I loves me some Navy Field.
In fact we have a PA Fleet (Imperial Arcadia) set up on Arizona from the last thread. If you whisper me in game (Flecko on Arizona) I should be able to invite everyone who wants in
edit: also anyone new who needs points I can give lots and lots of those away, and most other strangers are happy to give em out too. Only thing is in order to trade you have to have a certain amount of both money and points, I forget the exact number, I think it's 500k each or 50k....
So this looks like a more in depth modern version of the most recent Pirates! game as far as ship combat goes. Is that sort of right? Because I fucking loved it in Pirates.

From what I remember its 50k of each.
I have the british CA on arizona, im downloading the client now. cant wait for some high angle action soon!
I demand a name list!! radioman antics aside it's hard enough to find people. Though they did add a squadron chat channel i hadn't noticed before, that's handy

If I remember right my callsign is Webguy20, same as on here. I should have the client in a half hour, Ill have to purchase a sub though, so that might take me a few more minutes on top of that.

This game is a grindfest, but damned if its not one of the funnest. especially with friends. Deffinitly worth the pittance they charge a month. they get you in the micro transactions if your hooked though

I don't think $0.00/month is considered even a pittance. Yeah, once you get over the initial inability to fight against just about anyone, it becomes fun. Of course, you may as well consider it an extended training exercise to get used to shooting cannons.
I've seen a few posts on the official forum about that. It sounds like sending in a support ticket with the approximate date you were last on may be able to help
edit: did a little more research, after a certain amount of time away inactive account's stuff gets put in "Storage", so if you find yourself wanting that stuff back you can indeed get it out if you ask em
Undocumented Features in NF - From the official forums, full of useful info that is less than obvious. For example hit F11 to unlock the zoom and scroll away with the mouse wheel

man I love a level after every battle. its sooo nice
I know soon enough though thatll be a distant memory
I created an account and stuff, lag is heavy but still somewhat playable from here in China. As a newbie what kind of games should I be in, and should I keep the auto-FC thing or learn the manual stuff? I joined one large fight thing, and got hit by a sub and insta killed so fast it wasn't even funny.
Blitzkriegs and Great Battles have shared xp, so you'll get much more experience and credits from those battles, but ff-dd rooms may actually be more FUN for a while. doesn't take too long to where you can do some good in a Blitz though. General consensus says use auto fcs on destroyers and below and manual on everything higher. I use manual on everything now though.
Edit: Oh yeah, I think you have access to a battleship for the first 24 hours you create an account/start playing on a new server. You can use this to run a training mission and quickly raise your crew to level 6.

So, I just made an account. Any tips for a new person?

Stick to blitzkrieg rooms and plan what sailors you'll want as early as you can.
In battles with a little ship your best bet is to make sure than whenever enemies are in range there's a bigger friendly ship close enough that they'll ignore you. Also take advantage of how tough manual aim is and how inaccurate auto-aim is by snaking around when being fired on.
Also the earlier you start learning to use manual aim the better
And make sure to get a radioman, all it takes is a lvl 6 sailor and the stats don't matter

in the shipyard on the left where you buy your engine and FCS. The 3 FCS are Auto, Finder and Aiming. Finder and Aiming are the manual ones, Finder is mostly for submarines and torp ships
Good games today guys, was fun running around in the newb frigate just trying to distract and plink at almost dead ships, even killed two large ships through it all and got up to my US-DD which will be fun to play around with.

Yay! the Fletcher is easily the shining star of the Tier 1 DDs, and down the line you'll get the DDX project which is the second best Destroyer, right behind the German Z99
Man, I have almost no idea what I'm doing. I managed to get the first destroyer, and have some level 7/8 guys, but I'm pretty certain I'm doing it wrong; I just upgrade to the next available gun when possible.
Ayulin in game as well. How do I hook up with everyone else?

You'll want to get a radioman, then stick him in the little red circle in the lower left area of the shipyard. Right click him to add friends to your list (enter all names in lowercase). Then you can left click on him to bring up a list of friends and people in the clan which you can double click on to see the gist of where they are
typing /where <playername> also helps narrow it down when you're trying to get into the same room
I got torps on my fletcher, but then it crashed in the lobby and I haven't gotten back in yet to try them out...sigh.
Torps can be really useful, but make sure you save them until you are broadside and somewhat close to someone, that way they actually hit. The spread is too small to actually hit someone from across the map usually.
Or if you know you are going to die, fire them off.
I had just gotten two sets of 5 when I switched over to the somers permanently. Looking forward to have 15 torpedoes I can launch off the somers.
Also for the more seasoned players, does setting torpedoes to fast make them self destruct sooner?
Assuming it does.

Getting into huge battles and hanging back, or at least around larger ships, gives you heaps of XP for just surviving.

It used to be, if you sell everything and delete all your sailors it'll reset. Don't do that till I confirm it real quick
edit: the forums seems to say this is still the case, if it doesn't work send a support ticket and they should be able to help

No wonder it was taking forever to get stuff for my somers destroyer, I kept bouncing between it and a fletcher to see if I had enough yet.
Thats dumb.
