So what's the deal with the edge card? Can I sign up for that for free?
edge card is fifteen dollars a year
gives you the subscription to game informer for a year, and the card itself, which gives you 10% off of evetrything used (not systems.) Also the GI issues will sometimes have extra coupons in them

Nope, it's $15 a year to get the card and the crappy Game Informer sub, although there was something floating around CAG where you could mail away to get an Edge card for like $2 or $3.
The card is only worth it if you buy used or trade-in games a lot; it gets you 10 percent extra on your trade-in values, and you get an extra 10 percent discount on buying used games. It sounds like shit, and it usually is, but judicious usage timed with special promos makes it worth your while. Example: They recently had a deal where you got an extra 40 percent on trade-in values if you traded in 6 or more games. That also stacks with Edge, so I actually got 50 percent extra, and it was all games I'd bought under retail in the first place or from Goozex, so I make out fairly even on the whole deal.
I don't know if it's an all-around Game Crazy thing or just at the store I worked at, but you could take your Edge card in and get 5 bucks off anything, which is pretty amusing.
Hm, the way I look at this is that its only really useful if you're going to be getting higher priced games, because you're saving more really. So even if it is the horrible $55 used, it's $5 cheaper than new, and you're getting a game free.
Which means I'm debating Street Fighter 4 and Halo Wars.
Other games on my list are: Viva Pinata:TiP, Tomb Raider Annaversary, Mirror's Edge and Spider-Man: Web of Shadows.
And for some reason everytime I walk by the box for Overlord I feel like I need it. I have no idea why. It looks pretty cool I guess.
Any of those must-haves?

I picked up the edge card last Black Friday when I picked up Fallout 3, Fable 2 and MGS4 in the B1G1F used game sale. It paid for itself in that transaction alone.

I think I might go to gamestop and just drop $100. see what hits me. I haven't spent any money on games in a while.
I grabbed Viva pinata: TiP, Tomb Raider Anniversary and Spidey Web of Shadows for a total of $68. Not a great deal, but Ive wanted all 3 for a long time, and any savings is good savings.
My roomate however made off with Fallout 3, Mirrors Edge, Endwar, Splinter Cell Double Agent, Halo 3 and Devil May Cry 4 for a total of $120.

If I had the money, I would probably get MGS4, Valkyria Chronicles, and Ratchet + Clank for PS3.. no more trades, kaseius! We have traded enough. But I want those games..

I'm thinking about using this to get Web of Shadows, Mega Man ZX, and Beautiful Katamari finally.
I picked up HOTD Overkill ... and put it back on the shelf. I couldn't find two other games to really justify pulling the trigger on the sale. Happy hunting to other people, though.
I got:
Dead Space $45
Mirrors Edge $35
World Ends with You $25
Zone of the Enders 2nd Runner $20
Crackdown $15
Ghost Recon AW2 $18
And out of those, TWEWY and Crackdown were the free ones which I thought the cheapest ones were supposed to be the feebies. Total came out to $117 before taxes so not bad considering I was going to get Mirrors Edge and Dead Space when they first came out for $60 each. It took me forever to choose the sixth game and settled on Crackdown since I enjoyed the demo.
Oohhhhhh that makes sense. Hey I guess they do love me!
Well sorta cause I just spent my time doing so hardcore deep and dirty anal retentiveness with their damn price stickers all over the cases. And my TWEWY manual looks like Johnny Sticky fingers owned it last.

No, you have to pay $15 bucks for it.
This is why you should only get one if you plan to buy over $100 in used games from them per year.

I think I love you.
This may finally force me to pick up a copy of Mirror's Edge. Maybe.
All right, people. It is not a gerbil. It is not a hamster. It is not a guinea pig. It is a death rabbit. Death. Rabbit. Say it with me, now.

Mirror's Edge $35
Worl Ends with You Free ($25)

Fuck for that I could just get it new for about $3 more.
Maybe I'll look again tomorrow, but I just couldn't find much. Le sigh.
Though I'll likely end up Preordering Pokemon Platinum or picking up the Bioshock LE I saw there.
