EA Download Manager help!

Luxurious_SpankLuxurious_Spank Registered User regular
Hi, I was wondering if anyone had any ideas in this regard. Just purchased the RA3 expansion for digital download and it asked me to use the EA Download Manager. But the manager says I appear to be offline and so I cant download the game I just payed for. EA's customer service is not very helpful in this manner.

Help?

Make sure norton or mcafee or the windows firewall aren't blocking it.

Honestly, unless you can avoid it, dont use EAD. Its useless, clunky and very very flawed.
If you can buy it retail or on another digital providor like Direct Drive or Steam.

    Hello,

after having spent many hours on the problem that EADM (EA Download Manager) does not work correctly and claims that I am OFFLINE, I found a solution to this problem.

I could hardly believe that this is a fix, but it seems to:

Open the Internet Explorer and then... do nothing more. NOT FireFox nor any other browser, just Internet Explorer.

Keep it open in background and your EADM will work.

Here a german version (because I am german and many german people seem to have this problem):
    Hallo,
