New Power Supply with Mystery Problems

Just got a new gtx 260 but since my power supply didn't meet the minimum requirements, I got myself a new 610W power supply. I've double checked all the power stats for the card and they all check out. Also I installed all this into a Compaq Presario pre-built PC.
The first time I turned it on it worked like a charm and my games have never looked better. Second time I tried the button for turning on the computer blinked green instead of a steady green and nothing. After switching out my card and power supply around I determined it was something to do with my power supply. After switching the new power supply back in however, I held the button down, it flashed green once and turned on no problem. Now I've got the same problem again. Is my new power supply defective or is there something wrong with my motherboard?
