Anyone running this on win7? I seem to be having issues connecting to battlenet and a couple problems in campaign mode.
Battle.net or iccup? Because iccup is where all the cool people play. You may try unblocking starcraft in whatever firewall you happen to be using (possibly windows firewall, maybe it's still accessed through the control panel in win7). You also should open up ports 6112-6119 on your firewall. Beyond that, I'm not sure what sort of problems you're having.
Speaking of technical problems, I finally fixed my Starcraft widescreen issue after installing the latest ATI Catalyst driver thing, it only took them like ten years to release a fixed aspect ratio option. However, 2x windowed mode now runs inexplicably poorly. Kinda strange.
"B-net is unable to identify your application version" is the error when I try to connect. It says uninstalling/reinstalling might work, which wouldn't take too long, but would still be a hassle.
As for the campaign error, it's referencing memory at ...... that can't be read. I get the feeling this has something to do with a 64 bit os.

Yeah, I got that when I downloaded SC from the Blizz store recently. In Vista, right clicking and selecting "Run as Administrator" works for me. Strangely, going into properties and changing it so the exe always runs as administrator does not work. It's also amusing that I didn't have this problem when installing from my CDs last time I did that. And then if you use the iccup launcher, you don't have to do it to connect to iccup or b.net, either.

It was decent, better than most youtube commentators, at least. I just mention this because they said they might do it again tonight.

I used to have this issue on my Macbook, i recommend trying a fresh install and getting the patches off of Blizzard's site as oppose to letting Starcraft update itself.
It could be the downloaded version. When I installed with my discs it had some coloring issue, so I thought I'd give the downloaded version a shot. I'll try reinstalling since it won't go beyond level 5 in terran, level 1 in zerg and I haven't tried protoss yet.

Yeah, looks like the run as admin thing worked.
Right click the shortcut, select properties, turn off desktop composition. That solves the coloring thing.

Four players qualified through a prelim tournament and the rest were invited. Ro32 and ro16 will be played on Saturday July 25th. Hopefully there will be a stream and commentary. There's also a $100 for whoever makes the best play (ie "pimpest" play :P).
TSL2 would've been awesome but take what you can get I guess. TSL2 pretty much won't ever happen now.

So guys. The Mac version of Starcraft, when I host or join any game with it, immediately gets disconnected after the game starts. Happens on all my Macs, on battle.net and LAN (UDP), 100% of the time. I think this has changed since the latest patch.
In part two of that game, the fire vulture unit (what was it called again?) had some retarded AI going on. It was going after a probe, but the probe was moving away from it, so as soon as the vult got within range, it would stop, prepare to fire, but then have to catch back up to the probe because it was out of range.

Some dude in op irc challenged me for a ladder match when I was on my secret account (lame I know :P). ZvT on Heartbreak ridge. I scout his factory so I decide to try 2hatch hydrabreak and I do mediocre damage. He goes two port wraith and harasses the shit out of me
He transitions into mech play and I go for hydra/lurk/ling drop. I kill off his science facility, armories and supply depots and hit his 2nd expansion simultaneously. I keep up the drop harass and armory/depot kills, eventually he's forced into a tank heavy build. By this time I'm on 3-4 gas and I switch to mutas to finish him.
End game he starts asking who I am and I just tell him I'm a C zerg. He calls bullshit and says that C should never beat A- :P We were both D+ ranked. Anyways, I did some snooping. His other account is A- with very good stats. He's an American Terran with ~270 apm but I can't figure out who he is.
In the mid-late game I kinda manhandled him so he seemed pretty pissed. I guess he was kinda upset cause he said it was ridiculous that I've got 4 losses at D+ rank. If he played straight up MnM or mech he would've wrecked me for sure. It's the fact that 2port wraith just doesn't cut it even if you do great harass that gave me a a chance.
