I have a video project in my ASL class, and we have to be creative. The teacher is a big fan of sight gags, and we were going to be doing 'Daydreams during test time'
Well, for my dream I'll be on a date with another one of my partners and it is going to end with a slap. As a sight gag, when we go in to her daydream I wanted to have a red slap mark on the side of my face.
Any ideas? I suppose blush or something could work but is there something easier?
If you slap your own face, you'll make it red enough to film and it will go away after about 20 minutes. Will look the most realistic -- just don't try to kick your own ass and hurt your face.
You guys know that there is theatrical makeup, right?
If you want a comical hand print-ish thing, mix the color you want and have someone slap you.

If you don't mind a bitch of a cleaning job (for your face), bright red oil or acrylic paints would work if she slathered it on her hand and then slapped you.
I would not recommend oil paint at all. That stuff is not good to get on your skin, and it seems to get everywhere without even knowing it...it's hard to get off without turpentine, or turpinoid.
I'd suggest trying the blush....if it doesn't show up enough in low res then get some lipstick and mix it with some foundation until you get a color that works alright.
Some grease paint/face makeup from one of those little halloween type kits would probably work fine too if you have a costume or party store around.

More comical than anything, but getting it to show up on a low resolution is the trick really. So I guess the blush thing would work...

That's just me, I'm a simpleton.
