I fucking hate when people shorten already short words. When I was in high school, I happened to see a note some chick wrote and they had abbreviated the word "our" with the letter r. It was infuriating.
Also, while my punctuation may not be perfect, at least I fucking try.

In my old guild, I configured a word replacement rule on the forums. So that if you used pwn in a message it would replace pwn with "I am a fucking noob". That was my blow for the English language. It was great when we had a rogue app apply. His name?
Iwillpwnu.
Poor guy submitted his app a dozen times and couldn't figure out why his name kept getting changed.

this... is awesome.
I'd love to have seen that on our forums a while back. We had some tween? teen? posting on our boards that used excessive emotes and all that jazz.
I just don't understand how people can type that at all. It honestly takes more work to type werk?? Your brain is just hardwired to type correctly and use proper punctuation and grammar. Unless of course you've never passed third grade English.

sad thing is that I understood that. I get this, but I don't have enough patience to learn something like french or spanish.
Hasn't this been done to death though? English auto-corrects itself as you read it, as long as it's grammatically correct and there are enough letters to get the thought across. I can't cite my sources, but I believe that was the explanation, so don't feel too bad.

So has anybody started the 2nd phase Argent Tournament dailies yet (or done them on the PTR)? I know there's one that's intended as a 3 man group quest, I'm wondering if it's possible to solo that as a tank in good gear.
I blame the texting generation. I get a little agitated when people use "k" instead of "ok". It's two fucking letters. how hard is that.
This particular example doesn't bother me at all personally, because I tend to actually SAY "... 'kay" instead of "... okay"
Dialect sort of thing, rather than being lazy
Well, one can also blame the dialect.
There are many interesting dialect studies that found cases of english dialects where the people speak FAR fewer words per minute than others, but actually convey much more information per minute. Example: grab some random guy off the street of New York or Boston (and I don't mean wall street), odds are you will get a guy who speaks a language you can identify as having roots in greek or latin, but it might be German, you can never be really sure.
My communication abilities have been plummeting in recent years. I'm an engineer, so I am frequently called on to explain very complicated subjects to both those who understand them, and also to those who don't... but you have to do it in such a way that you sound smart. Which makes it only ever so slightly more difficult than being an elementary school teacher.
I had to post this video when i apped to a guild. Well i didn't have to post it, they asked me to post it because i mentioned something about 10k TPS.
So anyway, i figured since it was online....i would post it in here.
If you PAUSE the video at the VERY beginning, you can see the tail end of a 10,000 TPS spike i had going for about 5 - 10 seconds. I didn't notice i was creating the threat until someone mentioned it in vent. So it's not the most awesome thing ever, but i'm pretty proud of it.
The best is the incoming damage (or lack thereof) at the end of the video.
Need to watch it in HD and blown up to see the blurry number
I have started the second phase, and i have not seen a group quest yet.
The second phase being where i now get my quests from my home faction people?
Yeah, there's a quest called Threat From Above which wowwiki says is a group quest.
Actually, I'm wrong on this, nobody should be on this one yet since it's part of the third phase.
Aspirant's seals are the first phase (people should be finishing this today)
Valiant's seals are the second phase (5 days)
Champion's Seals are the third phase (mounts/pets/etc)
i burned lichborne towards the end, but i think my other CDs where not active.

I honestly do not put up with people who cannot communicate. I am at least happy that the more people hang out in the guild the less they are inclined to speak like they are texting about hannah montana.

The worst is, I'll get a guy in guild chat who starts talking like he thinks lol and rofl are interchangeable with periods and commas, and I'll start responding to his retard questions in kind (i.e, talking like he talks) to mock him. He doesn't even notice, because it's normal to him
Also, the guy I quoted before (mr. l2engrish) is also the guy I convinced that dual wield tanking was viable because having two weapons doubled your chance to parry.
Valiant's are still 5/day, but they're a tad faster to complete once you know what you're doing; plus there's this bitchin' quest where you get to run over skeletons on a charger.
And you actually get some mounted combat against things other than target dummies.
And you can do them in the same day you finish off Aspirant. So really it's only 4 days, since you get the first 5 on the same day as the last 5 from Aspirant

Ouch, that flying mount's 250 tokens. Fifty days worth of dailies for that thing, wow. Oh well, it's still good money, I'll go for it after I've gotten the land mount, pet and exalted rep maybe.
Though I don't understand why they went with a hippogryph instead of a Proto Drake (like the Argent Skytalons in SE Icecrown).

I meant valiant. I had the valiant/aspirant/champion things mixed up. Reread the post now, it's been fixed.
I'm pretty sure you get the champion's seals at faster than 5/day. I haven't gotten that far yet and no one will have until next tuesday. Again, I meant valiant in that post, I accidentally said champion's.
Also, when you get to Valiant there's a neat questline in the west end of the tournament, although it has a big cockblock as right before you hit what's obviously the end they tell you that you can't finish until you get Champion rank.

Probably because they ran out of ideas to use for the protos. I think they hit all of the colors currently in game (if I recall correctly, the Argent Skytalons use the same art as the TLPD).
Plus, people were clamoring for the other colors of hippogryphs ever since they saw the other color combinations on MMO Champion back when the CE Hippogryph was datamined.
I'm fairly impressed with Ensidia's conduct this time around. I remember reading some of their shit before about "catering to casuals" and "Blizzard is ignoring the hardcore" and getting a really negative impression. This time is sounds like they were fairly impressed with the content and are looking forward to the "hard mode" fights. So good job Blizzard (I only wish I could see Ulduar...).

Makes sense.
Yeah, I want the white Undead Warhorse first too. Tired of riding on the same two colors since frigging release (seriously that Black Undead horse should have been a Warhorse - would've made more sense to have 3 and 3 than 4 normal and 2 epics).

SO, Last night Naxx 10-man wasn't working on our server. (yet Naxx 25 was. and we're pretty strictly a 10-man only guild.) so, We were forced to go have a progression/scouting night in Ulduar. We got some solid attempts in on FLame Leviathan, as we tried to learn how trhe vehicles and the encounter worked. (We, of course, decided to nuke all the towers.) and well, We got him down to I think it was like, 6 mil, before this happened before the next attempt.
Hahahahahahaha, Oh, Blizzard.

D'oheth!
Yeah, dunno if I care about that hippogryph enough to do it for fifty days straight (after I've already done it for over a month to get enough seals to get exalted, pet, land epic).

You get 10 instantly once you hit champion rank so after 1 day you'll have 15, but still... ouch.
