    I think I'll hang this over the guild mantle if they ever implement guild halls:

    So I finally got to the NPC dueling part of the argent tournament. Im not seeing the difficulty people were finding. Everyone knows that you can throw out thrusts after every attack, like as you are charging? I usually charge and spam thrust, then whip around spamming shield break and spam thrust as that hits. They cant counter that.

    My CDs are in another state but I have my CD keys but the blizzard store is saying they are invalid. Do I actually need a CD key to play this game or just an account? I can't remember if the CD key is tied to the account or not. Also is there any way to download this in my situation?

    I've tried it a bunch now and for some reason I cannot get the hang of this jousting thing at all. Maybe it's lag or me sucking or something but I just can't seem to beat the AI. I've been doing it as people have suggested but it still kicks my ass every time.

    Well, he's right. If you're on a sports team, you show up for all your practices, play your best, and help out the entire team. But if you have other things you have to do in real life, you do that other stuff first. Pretty good analogy.

    I submitted an error report every single time it happened, and also put in a GM ticket to hopefully get some kind of explanation. I'm kind of hoping it's a "Yeah, we're aware of the issue in the game and fixing it" and not "The game is fine, your computer's fucked, fix it if you want to actually be able to play."

    I also just ran the Blizzard repair tool and it verified all the files and everything.

    Are you using any Unitframes that display the model of what you're targetting? I remember the old bug with X-Perl and targetting the first boss in Arcatraz constantly crashing until they just made X-Perl not display him when you targetted him.
    try disabling your ingame sound and see if the problem still exists

    What I've been doing since I don't quite have the reflexes to do anything really fancy is to get my defenses to max and then start. I use the melee ability and if he runs I use shield breaker and then run after him so he can't charge. If his defenses are low when he runs I charge instead of shield breaker. I made sure to try and keep my defenses/shields at least at two. It seemed to work out ok.

    Something occured to me about the argent tournament: It won't take as long to get all the stuff if you have more than one level 80 character. The pets are BoE, so while you're getting the mounts on your main your alt can get the pets and mail them to your main.

    Also, EZmode jousting (at least vs. the NPCs):

    1. Shield to full, obviously. Start the duel.
    2. Circle-strafe them (default Q/E keys) in charging range while spamming shield breaker.
    3. When their shields drop to 0, charge.
    4. Stay in their face so they can't charge or shieldbreak you and alternate between using thrust and renewing your shields back up to 3.
    5. When your shields are at 3 and charge is off cooldown, strafe away and return to step 2.

    This works extremely well against the NPCs, I can beat them doing this only taking ~8k damage out of the horse's 50k, and it also works somewhat well against players.

    What servers does PA play on? The sticky looks a little out dated, is it worth re rolling on a server to play with you guys? This game is horrible without friends to play with.

    So I can still use upgrades from Naxx25. I know, I know, "lolUlduar!". But I feel like I'd better serve the guild by getting what I can out of Naxx25 pugs. (seriously, I've been using Titansteel Destroyer since I dinged 80. plus my healing set could use some work)

    Someone's trying organize regular pugs for speed runs, so that people can get the last few upgrades out there that they need. But I don't know if I should even ask to go, because I don't know if my DPS is good enough. Also, I've never done Construct/Sapph/KT on heroic.

    So last time I was in there, I did about 42-4500 dps on Patch per attempt. (healing crapped out around the end, each attempt, for some reason. so never actually downed him)

    And I'm in 10man/Rep/crafted gear. With only bracers and the Valor dps ring as far as 25man gear goes.

    So, in your opinion, would I qualify for a speed run? I don't really want to waste time trying to get in, if it's obvious I'd be a hang up for the group.

    PS- I don't die on the dance, so I'm not 100% retarded. Or laggy.

    Sweet. I wasn't sure because I've seen people talking about doing 5k and such in 25man gear, and didn't know if around that range was what might be expected for a speed run. Or is 5k like a very nearly BIS for every slot situation?

    Increasing raid dps has a positive feedback effect. Raising the raid DPS raises not only the damage the players are dealing individually, it also shortens the fight so Bloodlust/cooldown DPS takes up a larger portion of your total dps. Like, if you take 3 minutes to kill Patchwerk, you might have 4k dps, but if you raised the raid dps (through other people doing better or subbing out healers) to the point where you could kill him in 2 minutes, your dps might be 5k or more without you really being any better.

    I am not sure if you are US/AUS or European, but I think there are a few active in either case. In fact, I think there was European re-roll guild just a while ago that should be on the 1st or 2nd page of threads. I feel like people still play Alliance side on Dark Iron, PvP, and I know the Beasts are still on Ravenholdt, RPPVP, Horde of course. And a thread on page two says there is an Alliance PvE guild on Draenor.

    I am in the US and refuse to play on an RP server so that should narrow it down. Once I get the game installed (so many patches....) I will check out all the servers.

    How do the classes stand now? When I quit after BC Warlocks were gods and Warriors still dominated. Any classes that changed too much?

    By the way, is anyone else having troubles loading into cities? Like, loading into Dalaran sometimes will cause my client to crash (usually via the flight path in), as did loading into UC and Silvermoon a few times (via portals). It's not 100%, but it's obnoxious.

    Never had this problem before...

    Yeah I understand all that, it's just that I'm always doubting if I'm pulling my weight or not. Like I always feel I should be doing better. All I really have to gauge myself against is what I see people post on here, and what others in my guild are capable of.

    Although, those Patchwerk attempts were when we tried to 20man it and we definitely weren't working towards a 3min kill. Don't know if the loss of 5 dps would make a huge difference or not, though.

    It's just very important to remember that looking at your DPS at the end of the fight only supplies you with how much dps you did on average for the course of that fight. Looking at your DPS during varying points in the fight would likely provide you with varying numbers.

    To give a sort of example, I play an Affliction warlock. At the end of a heroic I usually sit around 2000 DPS. Seperating that out to individual fights and bosses would see me doing anywhere from 1.5-1.8k on trash and upwards of 3.4k on bosses. This is something of an inverse of the situation we're describing here since in this case my lower DPS is a result of fights being over too quickly, but it's the same basic principle in terms of looking at your DPS. After 60s of Heroism/Bloodlust, you'll have a higher DPS than you will 60s from then. When both your trinkets proc you'll have a higher DPS than you will 30 seconds from then. When a fight lasts 15s and my dots don't tick for their full amount I have a lower DPS than I do in a 30s fight where they tick for the full amount, the inverse.

    EDIT: There's still, however, no reason to never feel that you could be doing better. Quite frankly that's a good thing for your DPS to feel, since it means hey, they're always trying to improve! Less raid DPS will almost definitely result in less personal DPS, both from overall time spent not under the effects of DPS-increasing buffs and from potentially lost buffs due to those empty slots.
