Last night we downed Thorim and that was a fun fight. Worked on Hodir for a while after that and that was a fun fight as well, too bad we didn't get him past 15%

Actually I have enjoyed all of the fights so far. And generally speaking, they aren't too terribly difficult. I'm just going broke learning them.

So... could you guys let me know when the servers come back up?

I'm probably going to develop a sudden hacking cough, and will need to head home for the day.

According to when I looked just now, the servers should be back up in a bit over 2 hours. Looks like they did a patch today to fix the talent tree problems and a few other things, so there may be problems.

They're still stupid and out of the way. No dailies go down in the direction the lumber one is - you don't need to gather the flowers for the sword, you can just sit at the lake and wait for someone to come and use them and then loot the sword. The stone one by contrast is way up in fuck-all of Storm Peaks where the only possible reason you could be going through them is if you're on your way back to the AT from doing your Hodir dailies.

I wouldn't mind the idea of dailies that you can pick up and which will fit into your circle of daily quests if it wasn't for the fact that the two together take up 4 bag slots which if you're going through a bunch of daily quests is a lot of wasted space for something you're not going to turn in until after you're done with your current dailies.

You gotta fly TO the places for the sword quests though. And when you do, you pass right by the Lumber Quest and the Stone one is just a very small detour when heading back from their to the tournament.

Ignis has now received significant nerfs, as of 4-21. These nerfs will put him on a lower difficulty than iron council pre-nerf.

Emalon has received a significant nerf as of 4-21 (he won't cast any spell for a short while after overcharging)

Various trash around Mmmmmmmmmmmmimmmmorn has been nerfed.

The iron council has been significantly nerfed (lowered enrage timer and damage).

Razorscale's adds have been nerfed in spawn time, chain lightning reach, and Razorscale's blue fire has been nerfed.

Auriaya's sentries no longer spawn in combat and patrol around, so a lucky few of you killed her and got the achievement pre-fix.

Honestly, I thought Ignis and the Iron Council were tuned for 10 man gear, albeit extremely tightly tuned. At any rate, I'd be very surprised if people still have trouble on Ignis, Razorscale, or the council after these nerfs.

Oh and Kologarn received nerfs to his right hand, but he's a bloody pushover who cares about Kologarn.

This is basically the front half of the instance, which is what a lot of people saw this week. I wonder if in the next 2 weeks we'll see some changes to the later bosses.

    please god mimiron
we had our fun wiping on it for hours

They nerfed the MM man, but I'm not familiar with the fight to know the extent of it. They nerfed the trash for certain though!

    boooooo

Though I suppose it means I am 'done' with my DK. He's got all the pvp gear he can get without doing arenas (which I despise) and no one wants to run 5 man instances anymore.. so there's really nothing left for him to work towards.

Which means more time for my shaman!

Blizz did say something about making BGs the focus of pvp again, which would be great. Arenas have always struck me as the sort of thing that catered to the tards who sat outside of ironforge dueling all day. All the arena brackets except 5's are basically just glorified duels. And making 5v5 teams is a huge chore that few are interested in.

I thought I was just gonna save for the 2200 one, but that's still 4200 or w/e. I didn't think they'd give me a >1k topend item in 2 weeks, woohoo.

Nope, the faire rolls in on the 4th I think, though...so a couple weeks.

Decks go cheaper in between faires, in my experience, so if you're going to buy, now is the time to do it.

1400 rating doesn't sound /too/ bad, but how many games would that require now with the 0 rating system? I want to not want to kill myself after the 3rd set of arena games. (Where's the Feral love, Blizzard?)

So they apparently made Exorcism only work in PvE and not PvP anymore in the newest patch.
Blizzard says they really don't like that solution and will be changing it again. Apparently they don't want abilities working differently in pvp from pve.
I say, why the hell not? If it'd stop me from getting nerfed in pve because of Arena, then I'm all for pvp working differently.

    It's more effort to balance.

That's their usual excuse, and it's reasonable, really; it is a lot of effort to maintain two different sets of intertwining, interdependent values. But the terribly amusing part is that if they'd balance the classes around PvP, and then balance the PvE encounters around the classes, they'd have no problems. They've sort of been trying to do it the other way around (classes -> PvE -> PvP), but that doesn't work, because they can't control what people do in PvP nearly as well as they can control the health, abilities, and AI of mobs in PvE. Balancing both PvP and PvE around classes which are identical in both scenarios just ends up pissing off both groups of players when, in each patch, another class takes its turn at being [under/over]powered in [PvP/PvE]. Round and round it goes.

You do understand that WoW matrix ate up Curse's bandwidth without any benefit to curse whatsoever, such as people using their adds.

In a business perspective what they did was perfectly reasonable. I've used the curse client for a little bit now and it's perfectly functional.
