Component to VGA

I have a 20" Viewsonic widescreen LCD that I use for my PC and game consoles. Right now I have the consoles running over composite into my video capture card, but this is obviously sub-optimal.

I'd like to have my Wii use the monitor for 480p display. The monitor has a DVI connector that's being used by the PC and a VGA connector that could be hooked up to the consoles. I have the Wii component cables on backorder through Nintendo.

Now I know my monitor supports sync-on-green, which would be just perfect if the Wii used RGB for its component display, unfortunately it uses YPbPr and I don't think the monitor has sync-on-luminance. Still, I have a VGA-component adapter cable and will be giving that a shot as soon as the component cables arrive.

Now, if that doesn't work I'm looking at an external device that will do the component to VGA conversion for me. The Vdigi device would be perfect if it also supported a 480i signal.

This is important because not all Wii games use the 480p mode (for example Rayman, which I already have) and in order to play those games with the VD-Z3 I'd have to switch the Wii cables for S-video or composite every time I booted them up.

So does anyone know of any similar devices that have support for 480i signals?

The "VGA-Component" cable is actually a "Component-HD15" cable; there is no conversion from YCrCb to RGB. You need a box like this: http://www.smarthome.com/777062a.html

If I'm reading this right, this device does support 480i?

If so, that's what I really need. Kinda pricey though...
