So I've got a student edition of Photoshop CS4 extended, and now that I've re-formatted my computer the serial key Adobe sent me has suddenly stopped working. I've e-mailed their support about the problem, which has amounted to little more than 'well it says here that the key is still valid, son' so I'm looking for ideas.
Most Adobe stuff now writes stuff to the master boot record, which survives a format. I had that issue with a 30 day trial expiring after 1 day when I had to reformat. You're probably going to have to have them issue you a new key or follow some involved series of steps to register it. You could also swap hard drives and do your whole Windows install again. Either way it's a pain in the ass.
After installation ,Just delete this file C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe PCD\cache\cache.db This is the location where it installed the serial . Maybe there is a software configuration problem with the trial version you had on your computer before After deleteing it will create a new cache.db file and store the serial there that goes with that disk
