After swapping parts in and out of my current computer for a few hours, I've found that fixing it will cost me $170-$200. Now, my current computer is a puny Athlon XP 2800+.
I've decided that rather than repair the machine (again), I'm going to get a new one.
I'd like to keep things as cheap as possible though, so that's where I was hoping some of my fellow net denziens would be able to help me.
For a new processor I'd like either a Core 2 Duo 6300, or an Athlon x2 4200. I'd also like at least 1 gig of RAM, 2 gigs would be ideal, but I'm ok with 1 gig initially to cut down on costs. A graphics card would be needed, but probably something in the $90-$150 range. I have the OS covered already, though if a copy of Windows comes with a prebuilt PC, I'm perfectly fine with that.
Punch and pie for whoever can find the best prebuilt or piece together the best home built machine for the lowest cost, given my minimum reqs above?
