Is it wrong that I very much hate 1/3 of my guild because they cant not stand in shit during raids?
Don't worry I am feeling teh same way.
We are getting a lot of ship jumpers too because we can't clear all of 25 man ulduar in one reset. Thanks bitches!
Maybe it's just they weren't prepared to spend so much gold on progression?
Eh, it's only a few people and to be honest I am not shocked they left. They were the type you knew were always on edge so we're not close to falling apart. Just more like, oh okay, you got Turning Tide last week (which he did) and now since we didn't one shot everything in Ulduar on a weekend where lots of people need to study your leaving for another guild?

Yep, thats the curse of the KT weapons. Places a debuff on the receiver which increases absenteeism by 50% and desire for greener pastures by 25%.

Yeah you can tell whose there for loot and who actually wants to be part of the guild pretty quickly. We have some people who may not be the greatest players ever and do some dumb things from time to time (not a whole lot but you know the type), but they are the ones who contribute to the guild bank and are there regularly.
Also JJ, you love me cause I got you a whole bunch of loot last night.

Favorite boss so far in the instance :] Only made it as far as Thorim though. I was fairly sure XT was going to sound like something out of transformers and then.... "NEW TOYS!!!..." I was like, \o/
Lots of Mimiron attempts last night, but no success. It's dumb. He should be dead. That fight isn't hard. Chaotic, yes, but it's really a lot easier than I thought it would be. But we just routinely lose people on P2, and then that impacts P3, and then P4 blah blah blah. P1 and P3 are fine. They are easy, even.
Also his trash is a nightmare.
I just really want to push on to the last two bosses. We're only a bit behind the top guild on our server, and while I don't think we'll beat them to the punch, we're doing a lot better than in the SWP days where they killed bosses weeks ahead of us.
Mimiron is such a fun fight! I am horrified at the thought of doing that trash for the next 6 months; I'm not one to really whine for nerfs but ffs, please?
To compare: We got the boss to P4 in 2 pulls, he's supposed to be one of the harder bosses on "normal" mode. It took an hour of: oh shit the warlock got 1-shot someone pop a psychic scream if you're alive, oh god trap that again, the mob got loose and all the healers are oom in 1/4th of a second, CYCLONE, fuck run back... to get through the 4 trash pulls prior. What?

I'm sure it's possible to do it in 10 man gear, but with a mix of 10 man/25man nax gear our 10 man ulduar raid group had very little room for error.
Imagine the safety dance but if anyone dies it's a wipe and if you don't dps/heal while dancing it's a wipe. Execute the encounter mechanics perfectly and your golden, 1 player makes 1 mistake and it's repair bill time.
My druid is going to tank a 10 man ulduar tonight. I have about the best gear you can get outside a 25 man raid, but, having seen our 25-geared bear tank in mains 10ulduar, I am worried for my little furry asshole.

Argh. We get Razorscale-25 down to 17% at best, then decide to go practice Deconstructor a while.
The problem we seem to have with Razorscale is the tanks not sure how to handle the boss at that phase. Now, I'm spending that time DPSing, and trying to mop up remaining adds, but it looks as if the boss is randomly spinning around constantly trying to ignore the tanks. The raid warnings from the tanks are constantly popping up with "Razorscale is immune to taunt!" but something's going on over there. Is there some proper, easy way to tank the <50% part that doesn't involve uncontrollable elements of randomness?
Does she store up aggro while on the ground previously? Do tanks need to be concentrated on boss threat at those times instead of add-corraling as they're currently doing?

For razorscale, have a MT and an OT, and get them to pull the adds to the center. Focus on the casters first, then the big guys, then the dorfs that don't cast.
Assign one healer, preferably one that uses hots and can move easy, to use the harpoons immediately they are fixed. When razorscale is on the ground, kill razorscale. All DPS on razorscale. Keep the adds around razorscale to take incidental AoE damage. Everyone moves away from razorscale's mouth before she flies in the air.
When razorscale hits 50%, that's phase 2. Your MT has to kite razorscale around in a circle to keep from being gimped by the fires. Your OT has to taunt Razorscale if the stacking debuff gets too high on the MT.
If you can get XT down, you can get down Razorscale. Razorscale is actually easier than XT. Ignis is harder than the council or the bridge guy, but the majority of the difficulty of Ignis comes from A: his bullshit trash B: healers healing the slagpot and C: your tanks.
There are a lot of fights where the burden falls on the tanks to put up or shut up. Depending on whether you have tank gods or your competence is less concentrated in that area, your mileage may vary.
The bridge guy is probably about as hard mechanically as razorscale, but it requires the entire raid to be on the ball and not just the tanks. If you are melee heavy, the hardest part of the fight is making sure your melee is actually standing where they do damage and moving when they get eyebeamed. Have your DPS switch over to Kologarn when the right arm goes down, have your OT pick up the adds, and put one AoE DPS to help the tank burn the adds down. If you have a warlock, get them to put up dots on the left arm but otherwise leave it alone. Kologarn's center can be hit by a lot of incidental AoE as long as your melee dps is hitting the arms at the center.
When an arm goes down, its health is subtracted from Kologarn's total (10-12%).
Melee don't get eyebeamed as long as there are ranged to target with it.
That's what we were doing. At least, that's what I was doing. Maybe the healers just need more practice keeping tanks alive on taunt transitions.
Not gonna lie. 25 man Ulduar is rough on healers. It only gets harder on XT. Once they get comfortable enough to be able to spam heals on the tank, you'll get him.
Melee don't get eyebeamed as long as there are ranged to target with it.
Ah, no. We had plenty of eyebeams on our melee group, just as many on our ranged.

fair enough. We had everyone except one group of ranged stack up in melee range on the tank for our 25man, and the beams never went anywhere except those five people.
For 10man we just spread out and played smart.
Then again on 10man, the AOE shockwave is an almost irrelevant part of the encounter, so the eyebeams can be focused on a lot more.
Melee gets targeted in 10 man fo sho. Had it happen repeatedly. The fight is a joke if you got good healers, though. Only 10 man fight we one shotted. He almost killed himself for us!
Vezax is easier than his trash. Got him on the first attempt tonight (barely had time last night by the time we killed mimiron and finished that trash).
Yogg phase 1 is pretty unforgiving if you miss blowing an add on Sara.

Or if you spawn more than one extra by walking into clouds.
Munkus: Where are your melee standing? In our 25 man attempts, if we were anywhere but right on top of the tank's ass, the melee were getting lasers. I mean like, 3 feet behind or to the left, and it was laser time. If they were properly inserted on top of the aforementioned ass, we didn't get lasers. You probably know about this positioning, but we didn't for a while and it did help out.
Also its a silly mechanic if it really does work like that and has such a narrow margin of error.
I know my guild was having issues with eyebeams on melee yesterday, so we changed it up and made sure the melee were stacked right on the tank, directly centered in front of Kologarn. His arms share the same hit box as his body, so melee doesn't need to move, or even rotate, at all when switching from arm to body and back again.
Also holy shit I love Ulduar. Got to Thorim tonight, on our 3rd (and last) night of our first week of raiding. We were close to getting the gauntlet figured out tonight before we called it. Hoping to one-shot him next week. Deconstructor is an awesome fight. I can't wait to see the rest.
