Ok, stupid question. I was under the impression that the More Skilled setting would seek out people who were...well..more skilled than you, as in they have higher BP than your current ranking. Yet every match I've had with it on has me as the higher BP player, with the other guy being much lower.

I checked the manual and it doesn't actually specify what it does. Am I mistaking what it's meant for (it seems pretty useless to filter matches that will assure you as being the higher ranked of the two) or is this some kind of bizarre networking fluke?

That's happened the past 9 matches.

No, I get the same results. Who knows what the hell is up with it.

And btw, challenges are so much more tolerable now that I'm playing ripped music.

Good games Eek. You are definitely better with a wider variety of characters. For a while I was swapping through my backups until I figured I could probably use the practice against some with my main. Your Sakura is pretty fearsome, those were some especially good matches.

As a Gouken player myself, I'm sorry to say you don't have many options available going for a full offense. FADCs are neat but terribly costly. You're better off keeping the stock for an EX tatsu or EX counter if your opponent gets in too close in my opinion and keeping your distance. This is where Gouken shines.

Hardest matchup is Blanka. Everyone else can be easily thwarted using fireball traps, especially Sagat who, despite being top tier, gets zoned easily with Gouken.

Another thing I like to do to mix it up is throw in an EX demon flip after I toss out a fully charged fireball. It's sheer cheese as you can throw if they're crouching or let it land the sweep if they're not so they eat 1-3 hits.

Another thing is that his Ultra beats out every ultra out there so if you bait someone to do theirs, wind up the double fireball motion and hit PPP just as the startup animation for it ends. You can practice this by recording in training and playing back. I can only imagine the looks on people's face as they eat a ShinShoryuken after throwing out their ultra.

I'm done. Spent the night playing "Same Skill". Yeah, right. I got perfected more times than I can count. I can't pull off qc's on either of my 360 controllers anymore, and my thumb is in pain.

I'm done with this game. I'd say I'm done with it until I get a stick, but that appear to NEVER BE HAPPENING, since EVERYONE AND THEIR MOTHER BOUGHT THEM ALL, THEN BOUGHT ALL THE PARTS.

This game cannot be played online with a controller. If you are capable of doing so, you are a god among men, and you should be charging $1000/hr putting that manual dexterity to better use in the pornographic industry.

I have not. Those are not available anywhere near me, either. Plus, it doesn't help my main issue, which is with the directional input being so inexact/unforgiving.

*edit* Forgive the rant, I'm just really pissed off at this game right now. Rawr. It's one thing to fight against your opponent, but another entirely to fight against your own controller.

The D-pad in the fightpad is much, much better than the crap 360 controller - still not as good as a stick, but better than PS3 d-pad and totally decimates the 3shitty controller.
The next best thing is that your thumb won't hurt with the fightpad.

Unfortunately right now, they're all sold out and Amazon and Ebay still sell them for about ten, twenty dollars or more above the MSRP. If you're willing and desperate enough, craigslist can also be used although you better make sure the fightpads are in working condition.

I'd say give up the game for the time being lest you just frustrate yourself more and more, and just look for the fightpads online for now - either for the 2nd batch of shipment in stores or see if there's anything close to MSRP in Amazon or eBay.

Sanding the wall around the d-pad and doing the pringles mod does wonders for the controller.

That input has always been the same for him and Vega, the db to uf was a remix input added in. Just try to do the motion right at first and then you can do it faster and faster, it comes out pretty easily from there. Even on an analog.
