First thing I'm gonna do when I get this is dust off the Balance board, plug in a nunchuk and go to town. After about 10 minutes or however long it takes to get tired or frustrated with that control scheme, I will grab a beer, a bowl of chips and hunker down for several hours of Wii Remote sideways play. Oh baby.

I want this....but it saddens me that I don't have the money for it. I used what money I could use this month for Excitebots. It's awesome, but I'll be missing my Punch Out for a bit.
Maybe I'll rent it to at least give it a go before I buy it.

Just spent the last 20 minutes wranglin' the IGN review via my iPhone. Basically confirms what I feared: the motion controls are... lacking. But I am giddy at the chance to use my revolutionary motion controller like a 20 year old controller.
I kid, I kid. Very excited to get home tonight and play. They scored it very well.

I want to get this game this week. I have a bit of money left from my birthday, from being so damn indecisive. Maybe tomorrow. It looks like a blast, and I think my nephews will go wild if I have a game when they get here this weekend, especially one that stays in reach and they are allowed to play!

and amazon says it's not shipping until the twenty first, although that may be because it has to fill preorders first. I just canceled mine anyway, estimated arrival was wednesday and I'm sure worst case I can get this tomorrow.

Call Gamestop. I know... I know. But for whatever reason they always have Nintendo's Monday releases on Monday. Do call first though, for MP3 the shipment didn't come until Monday afternoon.
Note: I'm on the west coast, I don't know where the shipments originate so maybe we're lucky on the Pacific.

My wife works at gamestop, her store doesn't sell it til tomorrow.
Its always the case of their system lists the shipping date: The 18th, but they don't actually sell them until the 19th.
Gamestop employees are told this early on, but sometimes they forget. This is why people usually get misinformation about games coming out a day earlier than they are supposed to.
There's no Classic Controller support? That sucks. Not a deal-breaker since I don't mind the sideways Remote control that much, but it seems like it would have been easy to do (and since I've been playing the two VC Punch-Out's with the CC, it will be weird going back).
This is the first game I've bought for above $30 in a long time. The wait for it to arrive from Amazon will be painful...
This game really doesn't support the classic controller? Why not? Nintendo needs to be more firm with that sort of thing. Is there a new game besides Mario Kart that supports the Classic Controller?

Personally, I always saw the CC as something for the VC. Games that provide it as an option is just a bonus to me.
Besides, 1 and 2 usually transfer to B and A, where I'd prefer if they transferred to Y and B.
read the IGN interview just now, sounds good. One thing I'm still wondering. is this straight up boxing like the original NES version, or they doing that garbage with weapons (sticks, hair, juggling balls, etc..) like in the SNES version. I don't want to find out Disco Kid is throwing disco balls at me, or Soda stabbing me with a broken bottle.

This person has. Apparently the chocolate bar is normal chocolate, not even stamped.
We have a video of Aran Ryan now, though it's terrible quality (seriously you probably shouldn't watch it). But it shows his personality and he is insane and needs Ritalin and has some sort of Little Mac vendetta.
Holy crap, that's actually pretty awesome - the one thing I always hated about him was just how bland he seemed in SPO compared to everyone else.
EDIT: So if there was some idiot in hot pink trying to be Little Mac at the tournament, I can only hope there was some fat schlub who decided to go as Doc Louis.

Today is the official date. There was some promo deal(I think) that allowed it to be sold a couple days ago in select areas.
If I'm still awake in a few hours I may hit up Best Buy and/or Target to see what's what.
