Shotgun Sunrise is a zombie-riffic vehicular Western of brain-swallowing proportions, yeah? And here's how it works.
SEVERAL COWBOYS roam in from the outskirts of town (so like 50 meters away from it) in a TRUCK. The truck seats eight.
These cowboys have epic dress sense, by the way.
These cowboys are called the RESCUERS. They must ACQUIRE THE ESSENTIAL SUPPLIES OF WESTERN POST-APOCALYPTIC LIVING:
-Superior firepower
-Moonshine
If you are a rescuer, you ride in or drive the truck around Shotgun following your compass to find your objectives. You and your comrades must cooperate in bringing the crate of superior firepower and the barrel of booze back to the truck. If one of you dies (thereby becoming a SURVIVOR as opposed to a RESCUER), you will respawn at a random but almost certainly unsatisfactory position somewhere in the town, armed only with a pistol and your axe, and no hat. To regain your hat, firepower and dignity you must get back to the truck. It is also the obligation of those who still have their hats to assist you in this endeavour.
The crate, once attached to the truck, allows you to replenish your ammunition there and to gain the use of the tommygun.
The booze, once brought to the truck, allows you to drink deeply and gain up to 125% of your health.
After you have acquired both the booze and the firepower, it is just possible that your truck may break down under the strain. Should this happen, you will need to proceed on foot across town to the Shotgun Electrocombobulatory Power Facilitron and find something with which to jumpstart the vehicle.
Having done so, you will need to blow town.
I haven't had a chance to play for real, but this update looks pretty swell. Any idea when you'll have a simple tutorial map available to mappers so less-experienced mappers can get acquainted with the process (entities, etc)?
Note: my server is crashing on map end/change. I'll try to grab the text out of the console the next time it happens before I restart it. I'm trying to keep an eye on it but I can't watch 24/7 so if you notice it is down and want to use it hit me with a PM.
I extracted the contents of the update to the Shotgun Sunrise folder and I replaced the old files with the new ones. I though I might have done it wrong the first time, so I didn't it two more times and it still doesn't work.
Woo I made it in! I was just standing there like an idiot trying to decide if I could survive the fall or not, but really I was posing for an awesome shot!
Good games on Goofball's server just now. Whoever managed to barrel roll the truck over the jump and land it perfectly on a fence, I salute you.
I also appreciate that the game is still (mostly) playable for me, seeing as I live in Australia, and get 300 ping to the servers. The only thing I can't do is aim the damn Winchester, and my input while driving the truck has about a half second delay, which I can compensate for. Other than that, damn smooth networking over quite a distance, well done guys.
Oh, and also, the latest patch actually caused MORE things to go black and pink shiny than before. Anything I can do about it?
As far as things becoming really shiny and white, like the crate and the fast zombies during the underground part, I'd say fiddling around with shader settings might make the textures normal and unshiny.
I told you LaCabra, dumb people, such as Lagnar, don't know how to merge or overwrite files/folders
I think it would be a good idea to put some installation and update instructions in the OP.
Woah woah woah. I know exctally how to do it, as before the patch from yesterday I was playing no problem. I imagine the last 0.01% of the patch was not downloaded properly or something so im using a mirror for it.

Yeah, I wouldn't worry too much about it, apparently Remington is going to upload a new mod version with the patches already included.
The "get-thee-to-the-generator-before-thou-ought-to-be-there" bug still exists; one can angle the truck so it can drive up the displacement and eventually through the nice playerclip brush you put there. One can then acquire the generator and use its turbo to escape in the same manner.
Players can jump over the brick-ended gate leading to the level exit on the right side, if the truck hasn't knocked the gate down yet.
If you're in the level exit but not in the truck, walking into the trailer hitch on the train will freeze you in place as if you're exiting the level but won't actually finish the level itself, forcing a console suicide.
The double-barreled shotgun can be reloaded twice as fast by hitting reload immediately after the gun empties, then once the ammo count switches to 2 (which is before the gun actually reloads in the animation) you can quickswitch twice to have a fully reloaded gun.
Walking backwards away from zombies while carrying the crate/booze/generator, while still slow, will make zombies run up to you and attack. However, because the zombies stop moving to attack, you can still move out of their attack range before the animation hits. Walking forward normally doesn't seem to have this problem, for some reason (maybe it was just the way I was moving at the time?).
Zombies can spawn below the ground, still.
The new patch caused a bunch of texture errors, leading to lots of purple/black in areas like the gun store, booze vault, and generator building.
When you have to move through the tunnel with the crate, standing in water causes a weird texture glitch where the leaping zombies and your gun turn white. This problem happens by the poles near the booze factory's entrance, as well.
Constantly running away from a horde of zombies will make them disappear while you're not looking, making for very anti-climactic escapes.
The area by the exit has a few invisible walls, which prevent players from shooting zombies when they have a clear line of sight.
Improvements I'd like to suggest: Zombie saloon girls, first and foremost. Second, let players activate their use key to drop crates/booze/generators/tnt, instead of having to switch weapons. This is many a cause of tnt suicides. The axes, while functional, should probably be switched to small hatchets instead of two-handed fireaxes because of the way the models hold them (in one hand). Currently, the scoreboard is pretty useless, since there's no way to have a positive score and the rescuer/survivor tally is noted on the bottom of the screen. Maybe have points given for rescuers whenever they successfully retrieve the crate/booze/generator? Also, because of the way the zombies waddle when they move, I could never reliably get headshots. Do headshots do more damage, or is that just years of FPS tradition affecting my viewpoint?
Overall impressions: Hilarious feel and tone. Those shirts, while low-res, absolutely need to stay. I suggest a plaid pattern for future models, for that Al Borland look. The guns feel solid, especially the double-barreled shotgun. The axe could use more of a meaty thud when it hits, but it's a very consistent hitrange and never feels floaty. The zombie waddle is awesome and has to stay. The map design is filled with too many sidestreets that you never go down unless you're respawning as a survivor, but the feel of the map is perfect.
When you're carrying tnt you can just click mouse1 to throw it. It gives the sound as if you're firing your gun but other than that you just throw it and you're good to go. I don't remember if clicking mouse1 while carrying the crate/booze/generator will simply drop those however.
just some ideas for a future update
make the zombies get progressively harder as time goes on
also if possible, after so many survivor deaths you become a zombie

Thanks, added to OP
My server is now updated and so is my mirror:
Server is at 70.184.120.223:27015
Latest Update Mirror: http://shotgun.goofball.org/ShotgunSunrise_Update_April2nd.rar
Full list of mirrored files available at: http://shotgun.goofball.org/
I don't think that's the case because Goofball and Mr. Delish's servers both give me the same error message and they've updated already.

that happens 100% of the time going straight off the jump if you hit the boost too late

For walls turning pink and such I have no idea.
Zombie saloon girls.
Yeah, post the videos. Could show everyone how this stuff looks like in action.
And this would be me feeling stupid. :P

Im redownloading all of it (game+ patch) and gona reinstall, see if that helps.

You can't fit that many people on the truck!

Turbo-jumping the truck over the ramp and landing sideways only to wipe out 3 of your team?
Awesome.
