Lately I have grown really attached to Lucifer. Lvl death and doom are all kinds of awesome, and eating creeps makes earning gold even when outmatched painless.

DB is my new go-to strength hero (Leshrac being my new go-to int, and for agi I'm starting to grow fond of 'dusa). He can farm a lane against all but the most retarded matchups, and has some incredible suppressing power.
The only problem is you have to build him to be a one-trick pony late or else he sucks; he can push well (with Radiance, Vlads, and Bfury) or he can gank well (with Ags, Travs, and options for either a dagon or orchid) or he can tank well (with AC, heart, and a Shivas) but it's impossible to build him to dual roles effectively in a decent matchup.
By the lategame Devour is useless, Scorched Earth is just a MS/AS buff, and LVL Death doesn't make much of a dent. Without Ags, Doom just takes one hero out of a team fight but will rarely pack enough punch to get a kill that wasn't already guaranteed.
He's much like Alch in that he farms hard but has to commit early to one role and build toward it.
You'd be surprised, LVL Death is 500 damage at level 25, and it's pretty spamable, especially since Lucy has staying power in fights.
Lucy may get some play at higher levels since he counters a few of the current imba heroes (like Storm) pretty well, and refresher double Doom is always useful for pushing and teamfights.
I have recently become fond of Atropos. Get him a guinsoo and you can disable 3 heroes instantly, and reduce a 4th's attack damage to a negligible amount, making it almost impossible for a team to push. Brilliant against carries.

I happen to like playing Alch a lot. He has a really nice nuke/stun, great gold earning capabilities, and a really nice ulti that lets him tank and dps like a champion. You can really do whatever you want with him, but I like to play him as a tank because once I get a heart, it takes an entire team of 5 nonstop wailing on him for about 30 seconds to take him down, his health/regen is just that good.
My preferred build for alch goes: Treads - 2 bracers - Radiance - Bfury (or the other way around, depends how I'm feeling) - Heart. Once you get the radiance, you farm like a complete monster, and it only takes a few minutes to farm a bfury or a heart, and once you get all 3 you're basically invincible.

You should get necrobook. Summon the minions, ult and have them go to town. Pure ownage.
Just played a game as Jakiro. There were 4 problems with that choice.
1: I am not very good with Jakiro in general.
2: The other team had heroes that were good against Jakiro
3: Jakiro isn't very good in general except in extreme circumstances.
4: There were a lot of other, better heroes to choose.
Conclusion: Jakiro remains a fuck-around hero choice.
Hes all about blink, shivas, and sheep, in my opinion. very lich like, he blinks in, does a fuckton, and dies.

Jak's all about early game lane control. Autofire and a strong base attack let him pretty much shut down any melee and dual breath fucks low HP int/agi up.
Autofire? Ew. You want to spam dual breath for all its worth. Just keep spamming it, and maybe get some phase boots to work around his godawful pathfinding and turn speed.

..how does autofire decrease your dual breath spamming capabilities?
It is a pretty garbage skill. Pushes the lane, and you have to spam it to get any actual use out of it (which means less last hitting, and even more lane pushing). Dual breath is actually a really good nuke: spammable, good aoe, nice slow. Dual, some ice, and stats, that's the way to do it.
I'd like to see some replays of you in high skill games, Ronaldo
I'd have to play in high skill games, first!
I'm the worst dota player ever.
EDIT: Also, my replays are all invalidated by being from a different version of WC3, anyway. The only replay I have in my queue is "lastreplay" which is just a pub luna game where 2 of them leave pretty early.
i get autofire with jak because i like to push lanes all the time no matter what and i stink at last hitting so i get gold with autofire if I am harassing/dual breathing

Spamming the S button causes autofire to shoot off like crazy without you ever firing an attack.
Or did they fix that one yet? It was still around in 6.57 and i ahven't seen Jakiro since because he's terrible in 6.59d.

They haven't fixed it, mainly because it's not game-ruiningly horrible.
I'd still rather be building towards a 2s aoe stun than levelling the autofire early, though.
Pickup scrim on garena. Things went south when we picked BM instead of Axe, and then our BM player spent the whole game having an argument with his parents and ended up having to quit anyway.
We won every team fight, but still got our shit pushed in, which was annoying, and I get so choppy on garena (especially with brood spamming mini spiders) that every fight is half a slideshow.
Just an illustration of how push-heavy the game is right now, and how very important it is to pick effective counters.
A new exploit has been circulated amongst hackers that allows for a custom map to execute arbitrary code on a client and install trojans/viruses/keyloggers outside of the warcraft III engine. So far it has targetted public dota games in particular; hackers created fake dota maps that use the same file extension/directory as DotA 6.59d, and therefore you will see the loading screen displayed in your custom game list and it is effectively impossible to take precautions against, as it has no discernible difference from joining a normal DotA game. Therefore it is highly recommend that you stop playing public dota games until blizzard can patch this exploit. They have already had it brought to their attention.'
For those who doubt how dangerous this is; by mimicing dota, anyone who has already downloaded the legitimate map will see the game displayed in the custom game screen with the proper loading image, and it finishes downloading before you switch to the game lobby screen, as it is a tiny file size. Once you enter the game, the virus will unpack itself and infect your computer, allowing malicious code to be executed at the whim of the hacker.
Don't join games of DotA hosted by people you don't know. This applies to public games, TDA, etc
The best precaution you can take at the moment if you want to continue to play DotA, is to keep your Warcraft III maps folder open, and see if any new files are downloaded when you join a game. If they are, immediately leave the game lobby, before the host can start the game (and infect you), and delete the new map file. If your computer has been infected, you should run the best antivirus software you can find, and Don't log into any accounts on your computer, warcraft III, email, etc, as there is a high probability of getting your password keylogged. If you are certain your computer is infected, the only surefire way to eliminate it is to reformat your computer.
The only safe thing to do at the moment is to not play DotA or any other custom map.

(hint, it doesn't)
It's wasted points. It pushes a lane and it could be stats or ice, instead.
I don't get autofire on Jakiro until 22. Even then, I might not take it just on principle.
