I have a pre-order for MW2 at Asda, and one at Gamestation. I am going to try and use 2 copies of Overlord 2 that I got for £10 each, and use them and £5 to get it from Gamestation. If that doesn't work, I'll either use one of them and CoD4 instead, or use my Asda preorder, which will probably be about £29.

You guys did a way better interview than this twerp:
Just a heads up - MW2 will be £45 at GAME, but it's half price if you trade in certain games, including COD4. Also, they're going to be doing Mirrors Edge for £5 new when bought with MW2. Not sure if either deal is any cop, but it's worth letting people know.
If I had to pick one it would be the fuckwits that run Frugal Gaming.
Edit: and/or the hypocrits that run HUKD
Edit: Hmm, on the one hand it is good that more people will play Mirror's Edge, getting MW elsewhere for cheaper makes more sense, since you could get ME for less than the difference. Thanks for the heads up.

I had half a mind to do this, but went in the other day and they've taken Overlord II off the list.

I'm pretty sure it would be illegal for Valve to deactivate these games, since they are still from within the EU, and EU law protects against that, but I'll add that to the guide, cheers. Let me know what your response is.
At this point, online is pretty much pointless. If you want it tomorrow you'd have to pay through the nose for shipping and even then it's unreliable. And who doesn't have a Sainsbury's near them?

I have a few sainsburys near me, but none of them do games.
I'm still holding out to see what Morrisons and Toys R us do, since they are on my doorstep, and both have a history of take part in these price wars, although being last to show their hand.
I will also just be getting Currys to pricematch whichever the best price I can get is.
I'm really not sure where to buy it from. I'm getting a train back from London at about 11pm tonight and am not sure if waiting around in Asda for an hour for a video game to be released might be considered a little weird.
Does anyone know if any retailers in London have broken the street date?
Buying AC2 at launch is like getting kicked in the face and then asking them to put bigger boots on next time. At least IW actually have a good track record. AC1 was, apart from a few short sections, boring and shit.
If you're talking about MW2 for PC price should be the least of your worries.

Windows 7 for £11.50?! I really need to check your blog out more...
Anyway couldn't be arsed with Asda last night so went down to Sainsburys this morning. I got there a little late but they still had copies in stock, although the lady serving me said they had a queue of about 100 people waiting for the store to open which I thought was a little insane.
Btw the coolshop order has worked and is working well they just mentioned sometimes it happens in their email to me and ignored the part inquiring about the refund.
My wife picked me up a copy MW2 at Sainsbury's in Goldalming at midday. I knew I kept her around for a reason.
She says they had 30 copies left when she got mine at midday. When I phoned last night they said they were getting only 150 copies total and that we couldn't reserve one. I guess it depends on which Sainsbury's you go to.
Lewie's sister's bf queued up at Sainsburys this morning at 7:10, and has only stopped playing to do the dishwasher and go to the loo - I don't think he's had any food yet, and its his turn to make tea tonight - we could be in for a very long wait. He paid £26.

I like this tin one but it's a bit expensive for me.
EDIT: Just to clarify, I don't necessarily need the tin one.

Will this be ok to play, if we find later on our game has been deactivated, will we be getting a refund? "
ill let you know how they respond. Hopefully it wont be a problem..but it seems plausible
there are PEGI ratings on the product too.
Updated to include getting it on consoles for £26 online.

Loved the demo for this, but the steam release was a bit pricey for my tastes but will surely pick it up now.
But I have Borderlands to play more and AC2 coming at launch, so I think I can live.

If you buy Modern Warfare 2 at Sainsbury's you get a £3 voucher for AC2.
They know your weakness.

That will be £3 off their "probably more than £3 more than the cheapest other place to get it from" price though.
Also:
Do I win?
I asked my wife to get me one from Sainsbury's this morning, but I suspect she's still in bed :x

Or are you saying they've sold out?
I've even got my ex hunting me down a copy lol
It doesn't matter, I bought some new headphones instead.
Maybe. I'm just going to bear it in mind when I'm spending birthday monies. :P

Must have got fed up with people asking! Their loss big time really.
