Well as the title implies I have no real taste in music. I know my likes, but usually when I go to a store to look I draw a blank. My musical tastes are:
*Video Game soundtracks (honestly, I mainly like to listen to these when I'm studying or intensely concentrating on something.)
*Blues- I'm a real big fan of blues (especially the black keys).
*Rock- My most preferred genre of music. Right now I'm listening to Social Distortion (and love it we need an emote that throws the horns) I also like the band clutch which is a band kinda local to Maryland so I don't expect a great deal of you to know who that is. A lot of my taste in rock is with the grunge period of the 90's. I also like some the Irish stuff like flogging molly and the dropkick murphys.
*Rap- Nerdcore, thats pretty much it. There are a select few rap songs I like, but its not really my cup of tea.
*R&B- Is
really not my cup of tea, which is funny because the B in R&B stands for blues; go figure.
*Electronica (is that right?)- I was really into the techno stuff in the 90's but not so much now, it just seems repetitive after a while. I do like Daft Punk which I guess would fall into this category.
I would appreciate any suggestions, and you need more info just let me know and I will post accordingly.

Some recent electronica that I have enjoyed:
Goldfrapp
Justice
stop doing that. seriously. give new stuff a chance. I've found countless things from Pandora and other net radio. put yourself on a no skip policy unless it is a song you know and dislike.
Also there have been many times in my life where I find a band and upon initially listening my first reaction is oh god that is lame and hate it. Hear it a few more times and bam, it is like my new favorite thing. It is hard to drop that initial bias and feeling of oh I don't want to hear new music and give it a proper chance.
edit:
for electronic or D&B - Black Sun Empire. Small dutch group and great for work and background noise. It is like a sci-fi/horror movie feeling to it
Rock: if you like clutch, then maybe some Prong (Cleansing) or Machine Head might be up your alley. They are in that moderately known status from the 90's that Clutch fit into.
Steam
XBOX
Its pretty much my only source for VG stuff. Their FF7 remix is awesome.
Absolutely :^:
Have you heard of Minibosses? You might like them if you're into the older stuff (play old NES game music on guitars and stuff)
Not only have I heard of them, I actually have a station dedicated to them on Pandora.
Me too. Haha. :P
Have you tried listening to a band called VAST? It was recommended to me by one of my music threads and I am in love with them. Really hard to describe what kind of music they are, so I'll post:

Can only find AMVs for the song, but you'll get the idea if you just listen to the song.
Have you listened to TOOL? If so, what CD? Nothing's better than:
Lateralus
The whole CD is really good, but this song stands out to me.
I'd say most people into any rock have heard Tool and that album in particular. If you like that then you must check out their first album, Opiate, chock full of good tool-ness
Steam
XBOX
You might want to look into the more underground punk bands too, such as UK Subs, Stiff Little Fingers, The Adicts, Operation Ivy etc. although they are a lot more raw though and may not be for everyone.
Also, may be a long shot but if you are into the folk/punk mix of murphys and molly, you may like Ska too, check out Streetlight Manifesto, Catch 22, Mustard Plug, The Planet Smashers etc. Also, try checking out Talco, an italian ska band who were featured on audiosurf, can download their albums here for free
Hope that helps!

Grr... stealing my recommendations. I would for sure say Bad Religion. I might also look into bands such as NOFX, The Offspring(different, but somewhat similar), maybe MXPX. MXPX is a little bit more on the whiny side, but hey, you never know.
I think you messed up a syllable, its fine though, I fixed it for you.
Definitely Bouncing Souls, you might enjoy some incarnation of the Rollins Band and/or Henry Rollins.
Yeah, MXPX and Offspring, Yellowcard etc. are heading into pop punk and a lot of punk fans dont tend to like them. I do myself but its definately a different type of music.
Embedding is disabled or I would have posted the vid.
Use pandora, but do not allow yourself to skip a song you have never heard before. Disallow it for any reason. You have to get into the mindset of: "Trust your music player"
After a couple songs it will become easier, and eventually listening to new stuff that you're not comfortable with will be effortless.
Try and use pandora/lastfm when you are doing stuff like browsing online/housework/making dinner etc. too. You will be less worried about skipping songs because you will be busy and when you hear something you really like it will stand out much more.

well for the more odd rock:
Dog Fashion Disco - Adultery(album)
or their new spin off band Polka Dot Cadaver
Finntroll - pure Scandinavian troll metal excellence, try the album Jakten's Tid
Older, but solid stuff, Devildriver's self titled album
more electro-pop, but great, FischerSpooner, both albums are good
Steam
XBOX
thank me later
maybe i'm streaming terrible dj right now if i am its here
Already heard it and it was hilarious.
Or, maybe, give him some other bands that he might like?
Sorry if those are kind of obvious, but your list was rather vague.
My suggestions: Radiohead, Massive Attack, Dispatch and Mastodon (if you like metal). I've also been digging Rebelution lately.
Anyways, mastodon :^:
I second Goldfrapp and suggest that if anyone has the opportunity to see them live, take it. Absolutely exquisite.
Chromeo is quite nice for some retro sounding electronica, and witty in places. Not very consistent though.
When you say blues, is it the modern stuff or the old stuff?
Seasick steve is doing pretty good trade nowadays, and there are a few hundred old style compilations that are packed with great old stuff to find artists you like.
Any interest in Jazz, or classical? Sometimes I like to look for something very different, and those forms are hard to get into without someone leading you through some great stuff step by step until you get an appreciation for it.

Just listen
I suggest two things things.
Firstly, find some long term sources of new music. Like a few websites that you can check every week or so for new material. Some sites keep up with all new music across a whole genre: nah right for rap, p4k for indie or popjustice for pop etc. Or you could find a professional music critic to latch onto, like sasha-frere jones of the newyorker, or ann powers of the LA times, or the legendary robert christgau of village voice.
Secondly, try and listen to as much critically acclaimed older music as you can from the past 50 years. Obviously thats no easy task, so be selective and don't rush: this is a lifelong project. Start with the generally accepted classics: obvious stuff like the coltraine, the beatles, james brown, the sex pistols, pink floyd, parliamentary funk, the clash, black sabbath, al green, led zep, wu-tang, nirvana, destiny's child... Be prepared to put yourself outside your comfort zone and explore new areas too: whats reggae all about? italo-disco? neo-soul? The more you listen to, the more you can place new music in a broader context and start drawing connections between things. All it takes is google to find some suggestions (theres no shortage of 'best of' lists for all genres) and then youtube.
for a start on videogame soundtracks....you could listen to..
Unknown Soldier by Breaking Benjamin.
artists like Marilyn Manson, Stabbing Westward, Pantera...
but an easier way to discover your personal taste in music would be to use a online radio site....say Pandora..
