I just wanted to say that for those of you who don't know, the collectors edition of the guide is hot stuff.
Comes out this week.
I got the shitty "premier" edition Prima Guide. I think it is the most fucking atrocious strategy guide I have ever seen: spoilers are everywhere, for one. There is no table of contents, because of their new theories about design "flow." Which is to say, instead putting heart piece and poe locations in a separate section of the guide from the main walkthrough, they assume you want to get everything as it immediately becomes available and shove it in the already absurdly cluttered and impossible to navigate main portion and then they have like 10 different little "HOT TIP" boxes and then oh god just fucking kill me now.
that blows. maybe ou shoudln't have got the strategy guide until you either beat the game or got stuck, or got every possible thing you could get on your own.
I beat the game middle of last week and am now going through every dungeon and getting every single chest that I didn't get the first time around or had to put the rupee back. Plus doing any side quests I happen to see along the way.
I hadn't played much of Twilight Princess for, like, a week. On my one night off last night for the week, I played for about 4 hours, 15 minutes according to my Wii. What a glorious game. I think I'm going to make this a tradition...like regular people who go to church on Sunday mornings. I'm going to revel in Zelda once a week, for maybe MONTHS at this rate.
btw, just how hard would it be to find the sword and shield in Target at this point?

They were sold out at the one near me Sunday night (they went on sale Sunday morning).
So, just beat it today.
[realspoiler:64483ed686]Slightly disappointed in the final two Ganondorf sequences. I was kind of expecting more from the horseback duel--I mean, what we got was pretty good, but it just didn't seem as awesome as the Bridge Duel and the Wagon Escort, somehow.
And the very final fight basically being another Darknut fight was kinda meh--though the Chance thing was pretty neato.
The ending? Baffo awesome, but dang I prefer the cursed Midna to the uncursed, as a character. So much more expressive, by like miles. I'm sure I'm not the only one, either.
And I'm sorta peeved that it wouldn't let me save afterward, I had done a few things between defeating Zant and finishing Ganondorf, and hadn't saved. Hell, the game tells you to save so many other times, I was SURE I'd get to save after the credits. Bah.
Oh, and speaking of Zant, YOU ARE NOT KEFKA, PLEASE STOP IT, YOU WERE BETTER WHEN YOU WERE CLICHED EVIL BADASS. But that neckbreak thing in the ending was super freaky.[/realspoiler:64483ed686]
Whew, it's nice to be able to read spoilers in this thread now.
[realspoiler:64483ed686]Yeah, human Midna kinda creeped me out too. It's just how damn expressive she is, from the patting and yawning, to the bit where she does a 360 degree check, from a behind the shoulder one to standing up and peering ahead. Not to mention all the cutscene stuff. Then I saw her as a human, and it didn't click. I couldn't picture someone like that doing all that. She looks a lot like Zelda, and I sure as hell couldn't picture Zelda patting and giggling all the time if she got imp-afied. Basically I was picturing somebody a bit younger, and not that regal-looking.
But yeah, imp Midna for the win. It's amazing how much of an emotional response I got from her. At no point in the entire game do any of her emotes or giggles or whatnot change. However, when she first joins you, I got a sense of condescending and superiority from everything she did. That she was in control and there wasn't a damn thing you could do to get her off your back. Then later on, once her and Link finally click, all of those moves and sounds had an air of friendship and trust to them. The only thing I would possibly change is after the whole "castle scene", to stop Link from turning his head and growling when she plops down on his back, since at that point onwards I would think he'd be all right with it.
It's just a pity, it looks like they spent all their work on Midna, that they pretty much forgot about Link. It was OK up until past Kakariko, where he came galloping in with a pissed off "get your FUCKING hands off him" look. After that though, I swear he just had the same goofy looking smile on his face for the rest of the game. I don't think he even showed much emotion when Ganondorf held up Midna's crown. If I were him, I'd have been seething at that point.[/realspoiler:64483ed686]
The Wolfman on
"The sausage of Green Earth explodes with flavor like the cannon of culinary delight."
I think I will be done by tommorow. I can't wait to not have to worry about anything being spoiled for me. Plus, you know, the game is fabulous and I can almost taste victory.

Just finished the fourth dungeon, and I feel the need to talk about it.
[realspoiler:3494195f87]First off: ridin' spinnaz. Fucking badass new addition to the items in this game.
Second, the fourth boss was great. When I destroyed the last vertibrae, I was disappointed in thinking that the boss went down too easy. Then it came back and that second half of the fight kicked so much ass.
Ganondorf seems a little shoehorned in at this point, but his intro was extremely cool, and his redesign is fucking great. He's so sinister and evil, yet so lowly and thief-like. Makes me wish there was a game in which you play as Ganondorf in some sort of anti-hero quest for power. He's always been such a great character, and I can't wait to see more of this iteration.
I do hope that his and Link's fates are more closely intertwined, and that they have that same connection they've had in the previous games.

Maybe Nintendo could do somthing like Wicked, but for games.
Everything was great and all, but it clings on all that made Zelda so great.
I was expecting something original.
I dunno, I rather liked that it was somewhat of a remake. It improved vastly in some areas, but slumped in others. I certainly like the music in OOT better.
The animations in this game were incredible though...all of the cut scenes sort of negated all ill-will/non-satisfaction I had towards any particular parts of the game.
Alright, so i've been staying as far away from this topic as humanly possible until i beat the game, which i just did.
[realspoiler:a6cf1ae707]The entire ending sequence, from when you start fighting Zelda to when Link rides back into Ordon, was one of the greatest experiences i've ever felt while playing a game. I'll love it forever.

[realspoiler:a6cf1ae707]He rides out of Ordon. Which leads to a totally different meaning for the scene, methinks. [/realspoiler:a6cf1ae707]

Maybe he returned to say goodbye, as he has no intention to return? Why else would Ilia look so depressed at the end?[/realspoiler:7b32d9c5c1]

After a 20-hour Zelda weekend (bless the Wii for keeping gameplay stats), I just reached this point as well, and I agree with pretty much everything you said. Even if the Spinner is never useful again (which I doubt), it was still incredibly awseome for the approximately half an hour you got to use it.
So guys. I'm in dungeon 3 and I have a question, not specifically about dungeon 3.
[spoiler:5d3d511d2f]I missed the secret sword move where you get dropped off by the bird going towards the Zora place. It's the back slash. Do I get to become a wolf again? I hope it is like the mirror in LttP. [/spoiler:5d3d511d2f]

I think a lot of Twilight Princess' ideas weren't executed as well as Ocarina's, but it compensated (and then some) by having so many more of them. I still consider it by and far a better game than OoT.
Now, whether or not I find it better than A Link to the Past is a much, much harder decision.
So what is the deal with the zelda replica thing at target? Are there more on the way?
They said "Once its gone, its gone"... I was at my target Sunday, and they still had like 9 of them on an endcap. I had one in my hand but put it back because it just wasn't worth $39.99 to me (I was expecting it to be slightly bigger...)

Agred. Id pay a wii's ransom for a full sized shield/sword. But whats with character items that can only fit my cat? I mean, I guess I could get two cats, dress one up as Master Cheif, the other up as Link, and see which company buys which in 10 years via a battle to the death.
[spoiler:19f0d30342]I LOVED the music in the final dungeon. How it started out similar to the music in the first part of LttP, and then slowly changed into Ganondorf's theme as you got higher in the castle.

How is it compared to dungeon 3.
I always hate water dungeons in EVERY fucking game.
I always kind of liked how they usually are more a logic problem then any other dungeon.
I have traditionally hated all water dungeons/levels, but this one didn't bother me. I found that swimming was really easy to control, plus the [spoiler:bf3a586623]iron boots could be slapped on to walk across the floor at a suprisingly quick speed.[/spoiler:bf3a586623]
