[spoiler:675c8385c1]I, uh, hit myself more often than' I'd like to admit.[/spoiler:675c8385c1]
Yeah, I did that too just to see what would happen.
[realspoiler:675c8385c1]I hit myself with the GIANT statue in the Gohma fight just to see what would happen.
It only does a heart's worth of damage, which made me sad. So, what, Gohma only had three hearts?
I almost wish it had one-hit killed me for being a moron and commanding the giant fucking statue to grind me into the floor. That would have been awesome.[/realspoiler:675c8385c1]
Man, after seeing the 4th dungeon boss, the 5th boss is a huge let down for me at least.
Here's to hoping the bosses pick back up.
I loved the entire sixth dungeon, but some people didn't.
The miniboss was awesometastic.
Hell yeah he was. I liked that dungeon except for the fact that [spoiler:a9c81c405b]The game doesn't tell you to press the Dom. Rod button again to make your statue take a swing.[/spoiler:a9c81c405b]
Other than that, it was golden.
It does in the item help. Open the - menu and press up on the cross pad.
Yeah but who reads the item help? It's like reading an instruction manual, you just don't do it man.
[spoiler:a9c81c405b]I was blowing up the enemies in that room with bomb arrows to open the gate. Except that didn't work so then I took one of the pots you can control and tried to move it around to find the switch. I finally figured out you can take swings with the thing.
Speaking of item help, the Ball & Chain's should say "to cause massive damage" instead of "to cause serious damage"[/spoiler:a9c81c405b]
[spoiler:a9c81c405b]I figured out the hammer thing with the dominion rod because (a) they were holding hammers, and (b) I hit the button for overhead smash. But bomb arrows worked sooooo well against its final form ... the eyeball surrounded by eggs.[/spoiler:a9c81c405b]
I just finished the 7th dungeon and ... [spoiler:a9c81c405b]fucking awesome. Dual weilding clawshots? YES I also saw the plot point afterwards... also fucking awesome. I love where this story is going.[/spoiler:a9c81c405b]
Tomorrow I'll have to pick it up again and try to do all my "check for stuff I couldn't do before" exploring. With the weapon from that dungeon, this should be fun.

actually no it doesn't. I just checked agian just now because I was sure I had checked before.
It doens't say it ANYWHERE in the game that you can do that. Not even when you first get the item (I know that for sure because my GF just got the item 30 minutes ago and I was sure to re-read the text). THAT was the only time I got stuck inthe entire game. :?
I even tried swinging the wiimote to make him attack with it. I hate how it's inconsistent in how you attack with the controls.
on a similar note, I just found out that when you use the [spoiler:22701aea2a]hawk eye[/spoiler:22701aea2a] you can press the + and - keys on teh wiimote to zoom in and out. you don't have to click the buttons on screen.
Zelda wasn't even in the top 30 last week in Japan. :?
It's Japan.
THe land where good games sell like shit and offbeat crazy ass shit games sell billions.
Obviously it completly sold out in a week. So there is no more left to sell

So I just beat the game. 45ish hours, though I'm missing a few heartpieces.
[realspoiler:7b8c1453b2]I was happy to see the crew show up and help me at Hyrule Castle there at the end. But then you never see them again, which was disappointing.
I didn't quite like the direction Zant took. When the mouthpiece came up and you saw his mouth and he fucked up Midna, he seemed fucking cruel as shit. He lost that at the end though.
Lots of things seem to point out that this game happens some time not too long after OoT. Or they were just little neat things for us to notice but not really mean much.
The music in TP is fantastic.
I wish they gave you reasons to go back and talk to people for stuff. Like, after doing the Goron Mines, I think I dropped in for a second to grab that giant fire rock. I wish they had you go talk to the elders and... Daruba? Whatever his name was. I don't know what it is, but a lot of the people weren't memorable to me. Forgot the Zora prince's name too. I never had this problem with OoT. Then again, I played through OoT at least 3 times, so that could help.
Fighting Ganondorf on horse was goddamn annoying. Zelda has a terrible aim. Then Ganondorf would hit me off. I'd get up, and start to get back on Agro(what I named Epona :P), and he'd ride by and hit me again before I had a chance. Then Zelda would finally hit him, but his ghost horses would knock me off at the same time, and by the time I got up, he wouldn't be stunned anymore.
The swordfight wasn't as epic as I would've liked either. It's hard to equal WW's swordfight though. Dark Beast Ganon was pretty badass though. And it was a neat twist making me fight Zelda in a throwback to OoT's battle. And you never hit her with the sword, which was a good touch. At first I was like, "They're gonna make me bouce these back and then whack her with the Master Sword?!"
Midna was cool. At first, I thought she would be an enemy eventually, but it turned out she was just an adorable cunt. And then she turns into a hottie. And then shatters the mirror. Playing hard to get.
It's hard to say exactly how I feel about the game. Overall, it was pretty awesome. I played it on my roommate's Wii, I think I'll pick up the GameCube version sometime for myself and replay it and see how I feel about it then.[/realspoiler:7b8c1453b2]

Well hasn't the Wii sold out pretty much everywhere? I doubt many people will be buying games for a console they wont be able to get until the new year.

Exactly. You can't expect it to be in the top 30 when everybody who owns a Wii already has it, and everybody else can't find a Wii.

I played it on my roommate's Wii, I think I'll pick up the GameCube version sometime for myself and replay it and see how I feel about it then.[/realspoiler:c1c6f336d9]
[realspoiler:c1c6f336d9]It was a lot better than WW's sword fight. All that rolly, leap crap was a bit much. But it was still totally badass, this was jsut a sliver more badass. Also, the horseback fight was ballin'. My Zelda only missed once, I got knocked down by Ganondorf and his ghost minions a couple times too, but I wouldn't call it in anyway annoying. Getting hit felt good for a change.
Midna is the coolest Zelda character ever, and this Ganondorf was badder than badass.[/realspoiler:c1c6f336d9]
[realspoiler:c1c6f336d9]Locking swords was a great idea in that fight. I did it by accident at first, thing popped up with "( A ) Chance" and I jump attacked and wham, badassery.
And I actually loved the way Zant ended up. He just fucking snapped. Reminded me of Majora.[/realspoiler:c1c6f336d9]
[realspoiler:c1c6f336d9]Well the horse fight part was mainly just annoying because my Zelda missed at least 5 times, and the part I said about getting knocked down, and then getting hit again while climbing back up on the horse felt cheap.
I didn't think the swordfight was as good because it was easy. The only attack he ever hit me with was the Knee -> Spinsword, and after the first few times, I saw that knee coming and knew to dodge it. Other than that, the Teleport Swordattack never came close, and I always won the Swordlock with him. That part was straight up one on one, and it wish it was more challenging.[/realspoiler:c1c6f336d9]
[realspoiler:c1c6f336d9]For the horseback fight, you can parry Gannon's and the ghost riders attacks with your own. It's all defendable, which is why I really like that part.[/realspoiler:c1c6f336d9]

And I didn't like how helping the characters didn't tie into the actual levels.
I'm sorry to drag this back up, but I guess I missed this particular point.
[realspoiler:f4e2a213e3]Dungeon 1: Restoring the monkeys' habitat? I don't exactly remember the grand plot of Zelda involving the rescue of monkeys.
Dungeon 2: Restoring trade relations between the Gorons and Kakariko.
Dungeon 5: Strengthening the Yeti couple's relationship.
Dungeon 6: Helping the Oocoo discover their origins. [/realspoiler:f4e2a213e3]
It may not apply to every dungeon, but it's still definitely there.
Well, I'll give you 1 and 2, but you're really reaching with 5 and 6.
[spoiler:f4e2a213e3]In fact, IIRC, you're pretty much done helping Oocoo before you even start level 6, since all he really needed was a ride home.[/spoiler:f4e2a213e3]
I know it sounds like I'm knocking the game, but it really is one of my all-time favorites. I just think a few tweaks to the story is all the game needed to be the Best. Zelda. Period.

It doesn't help that none of them talk to you.
I am of course leaving out the shopkeeper and the one you carry around with you
I didn't give a shit about anyone in OoT apart from Saria in the forest temple. That game didn't make you care either. Nor did the Wind Waker (apart from Grandma ( ) and Ganon of all people). The development between Link and Midna in this game is much better than anything in any of those two games. I cared so much more for her.
Now Majora's Mask, that had characters I cared for. Lot's of them, where as Twilight really only had Midna and Illia. But Twilight Princess remains the better game.
So, I finally died for the first time in my four-heart playthrough. Touche, dungeon 5 miniboss.
4 hearts? is there a heart you are forced to pick up?
The Zelda norm is that you take half as much damage when you have three hearts, so it's really more like having six. So getting one more makes it harder.
[realspoiler:83029e3d1d]Fighting Ganondorf on horse was goddamn annoying.

I prefer TP's swordfight to WW's, but it seems to take a bit too long. I wasn't so sure I was doing things correctly and wound up pausing and looking at an FAQ just to make sure I wasn't supposed to also do something else like shoot an arrow into his wound. However, at the very least I did not kill Ganon by ACCIDENT like I did in WW when I hit A to try a jump attack only to have the killer counter attack pop out instead :P [/realspoiler:83029e3d1d]

It only does a heart's worth of damage, which made me sad. So, what, Gohma only had three hearts?

Tomorrow I'll have to pick it up again and try to do all my "check for stuff I couldn't do before" exploring. With the weapon from that dungeon, this should be fun.

In fact, Majora's mask was supposedly used by an "Ancient tribe" in their hexing rituals. And was "sealed in shadow forever". Of course termina is some kind of alternate reality. But still, connecting Majora with the twili would be pretty easy.

Well hasn't the Wii sold out pretty much everywhere? I doubt many people will be buying games for a console they wont be able to get until the new year.
Exactly. You can't expect it to be in the top 30 when everybody who owns a Wii already has it, and everybody else can't find a Wii.
Zelda will be one of those games that sell a lot over a long period of time.
