Bob's Game -- Let's keep it civil

Paranoia Confession Delusion
Bob's 100 Day tensai sit-in protest is now over. And I'm at a bit of a loss here, because as far I as I can tell, nothing actually happened at the end of the protest. He said something about going to the GDC, but I can't find any presentations he gave. Gameplay wise, Bob's Game has been reveleaed to be a combat-less RPG talkathon with Retro-Game Challenge style minigames. A demo showcasing a tetris clone has been released, but from the feedback has generally been rather negative.

Honestly, I'm pretty disappointed that this is all Bob has to offer. I hoped that with tremendous creative control over a project he could create something unique and interesting. Although Robert Pelloni says that the sit-in campaign was a viral (and it sort of is), a lot of the background really does seem to be accurate. He really hasn't (can't?) publish his game (I doubt that it would pass NoA QA anyway) and a game about a game maker does showcases his narcissism.

For all that though, I do think there needs to be ways for new developers with new ideas to gain creative control of game development. Industry worship of figures like Shigeru Miyamoto and Peter Molyneux is unhealthy, and the industry should always be seraching for newer, more inspiried and frankly more creative talent. The concept of a Bob's Game appeals to me, even if the product Bob put out is sub-par.

But Bob's Game encourages the individual worship. It was all about him from day one, so I fail to see how his game and, subsequently, his ego succeeding would have been good in that regard.

Had this been a small team of people with fewer delusions of grandeur, I would have been more sympathetic.

It looked dumb. It made me feel dumber for looking at it. Does that count as civil?

everytime threads are made about this guy a baby is killed, and it's power is added to bob's inflated ego. For the record I don't believe he ever made anything more than a simple animation that looked like a crappy game so he could manufacture this stunt

On what twisted planet do people worship Peter Molyneux?

I thought people discovered he was a false messiah long ago.
