thanks Iruka, yes i'll admit the dress is off and isn't helping in selling the perspective. I'll have rework some of the folds for sure. Thanks for the reference photo

    Myk,

Is that your reference? Fashion models don't have developed latissimus dorsi like that. And it would not hang like that because her arm is not raised. I think a good exercise for you would be to draw all that visible anatomy in your ref over a separate reference of a fashion model.

but what I have a problem with is the fast assumption that I have no idea what I'm doing or I'm employing cheap tricks to cover up any weaknesses or inaccuracies..

Well, cheap tricks or not, you are covering them up. Bear in mind we here at the PA never get to see the early phases of your work, so it's hard for us to tell when the mistakes are made and when they are covered. We also don't get to see your references which is a key part of understanding your work.
Do you have any videos of your process?

i do think people kinda rag on myk a lot

i personally think his real issue is using a lot of cheap brush tricks, but he's kind of laid off on that, so i have no real complaints about the newest stuff.

and i think that the proportions are fine, she's long and lean, her body actually looks a lot like mine, long ass torso.
I stood like that and everything seemed to be falling in the same place as he's drawn them, so eh?

I don't think I really draw anything interesting or finished enough to be thread-worthy. Well, besides my comics maybe, and I haven't done one of those in a long time, since I'm currently working two jobs, which leaves me in a perpetual state of exhaustion. Really, I just doodle enough to let me unwind from work, and not lose whatever artistic ability I have.

I've been trying to become more prolific lately though, so we'll see.

I find when i reference Posemanics, that even though i may get my drawing to accurately reflect the reference, in terms of preportions, my drawing doesnt quite look right. I think its mainly because myself (and im sure others) have an idea in their head how the pose and proportions of a woman should look, rather than how they do look. Looking at the reference, id say her arse and rib-cage are too big. But thats only because mose illustrations of women are made to reflect the perfect image/body.
I dont think theres anything wrong with your proportions, in terms of the context its being used in. For a uni assignment, im looking at hell old 1900s fashion illustrations, for reference, and their women are drawn so bloody tall.
Overall i think you're doing a good job. And its good to see you extended that left arm. Works much better.

BTW Mully, i hope you develop that whale further.

much: its just one or two doodles you have on hand, yeah i can see u not having a thread, but if you got a collection of some of ur comics and sketches you should post them in a dated chronological order so we can watch u develop and improve. I say do it.

wck: yeah thats why I use posemaniacs primarily for reference when I'm dealing with complex angles or perspectives, its very helpful in terms of that regard. other than that I use various photos or a webcam and my mirror.

So i did a slight update of my character thumbnails. If anyone would like to tell me which ones are working best (in terms of visually interesting) that would be great. Top row are dudes, bottom row are chicks (incase it isnt obvious :|)

Personally, of the guys, 2 and 9 appeal to me. They have the most interesting sihlouettes.

Girls, I'd say 4 becase when I squint she looks the most interesting, though none of them really stand out as being better.

Edit: BTW, you should really try to work some poses/body language into your little thumbnails.

Cheers mate. I myself was thinking with the dudes 2,7 and 9. And the ladies, i agree with 4. Plus i like 8 too.
Once i start developing these further, ill definately add some body language. They are quite static at the moment.
