I've had Left 4 Dead for months but hadn't actually played it until last night. Even then, I only played it in single player mode, but I was having a lot of fun. I might gift it to my fiancee this weekend; we've been needing a fun co-op FPS.
In the zombie apocalypse, much like in marriage, communication is key. :P
Also shoot the fat people before they get close and if someone with a hoodie jumps on your spouse, fire repeatedly in their direction until the UI informs you that you have saved them. Finally, remember to always take two friends along, otherwise you'll never get anywhere.
If your wife starts getting upset, turn off your flashlight and back away slowly.
Or turn off your flashlight and shoot her in the face with a shotgun.
Whoa! What happened with the signatures? Did AlabasterSlim really get tired of waiting for alex and wrote completely new perl code for his own domain again?!
It IS bad, because Baten Kaitos was amazing. When that electric guitar battle music started and your dudes started saying corny shit it was fucking awesome.
I have an aging computer (2003) is there a way to filter available games by what my computer can play in STEAM? Thanks.
Afraid not. Realistically, it's doubtful you'll able to play most modern games on a 6 year old machine, but you might be able to get some good fun with the more indie games. Those tend to have lower system requirements. What system specs do you have, and what are you looking for specifically?
System Requirements Lab usually gives a good indicator of what you can and can't run (though they don't put all games on there), but remember to take it with a grain of salt, since the minimum requirements of each individual game can often turn out to be horseshit.

Also, if your install is old and clogged up, or if you have a lot of superfluous background shit running, and what have you, that the game is gonna run like butt even if you meet or are slightly better than min spec.

Well that's not useful information. How fast do you run?
Oh I was wrong, its not quite '03, it's '05. Here's what I have:
Dimension XPS Gen 5
Pentium® 4 Processor 640 with HT Technology (3.20GHz, 800 FSB), Microsoft® Windows® XP Media Center Edition
3 gigs of DDR2 SDRAM
SATA HD (7200 RPM)
256MB PCI Express™ x16 (DVI/VGA/TV-out) nVidia GeForce 6800
I played Portal great, but the Bioshock Demo was too much. I like shooters, rpgs (loved fallout 3 on 360), some rts, and god games- ah forget genre listings, I'm just into good gaming experiences.

Pentium 4 is really bad. And Geforce 6800 is really old.
Although, if you buy a cheap modern PCI-Express card you'll get pretty decent performance even with a P4.
EDIT: Seriously, with 150 dolars you can have a pretty decent upgrade. Won't run CPU intensive (Assassin's Creed and GTAIV) very well, but should handle most other modern games just fine.

Hey, I just bought King's Bounty. I'm looking forward to it!
God, this game. Right here.
I played it for 7 hours today, and I've barely scratched the surface. It is my overlord.
So many people missed out on this game when it was released. It could have done so much better but they only released it on Gamersgate initially, not even retail. It's only recently that the game actually hit stores.

Luckily the voice work was much better in Origins.

The trailer for King's Bounty looks fantastic. Grabbing the demo now off Fileplanet.

Make sure you free up a block of time. Like say, a few years.

I think I'd probably be happier playing it in Japanese without subtitles.

No Valve is just joshing you.
It's actually overpriced every other weekend and this weekend only you can buy it for its true magical wonder price!

Even with an extra 50% off, I'd have a hard time convincing myself to pay for it.
I laughed way too much at that.
Every time I see a Hadoken now I'm going to think "An insanely large amount of fire from my hand!".

Nope. And to be honest they may never come. I don't really play TF2 myself so I don't care on a personal level. Maybe I'll charge $1 for them.

Any source game should be good. L4D? Not sure. TF2 should work though.

God I love the boss music in that game... And fuck that fight I had to redo it a few times.

I picked it up when it was discounted way back when.
But I've barely played the damn thing.
