Medication induced insomnia

About two weeks ago I upped the dosage of a certian medication medication I'm taking for anxiety. For most of the two weeks I had a lot more energy and felt pretty great, but now I'm waking up after 4 hours of sleep every night, staying awake for about and hour or so and then finally fallign asleep, only to wake up a few hours later extremley tired. I'd been taking a lower dose since last october and had gotten used to them before I upped the dose, and I hear this insomnia will wear off in a few weeks, but I'm too tired to concentrate on doing much of anything at the moment, always yawning, can't draw or concentrate on paperwork, etc.

I'm just wondering if anyone has any experience with this kind of insomnia and what I could try to deal with it. I'm seeing my doctor soon but until then I'd appreciate any advice, thanks. I'm thinking of taking the medication at a different time of the day (I take it at 3pm every day), but I'm not sure if I should.

Try taking the medication in the morning.

Without knowing what you're taking, the only thing anyone can say is 'talk to your doctor'.

Other than that, caffeine in the morning to counter the drowsiness.

    Citalopram, 20mg
