I have an issue that maybe the PAX community can help me solve, or maybe not. No pressure!
I live a bit north of Seattle. My friends and I made our plans late enough that a hotel seemed out of the question, so we're just gonna drive or bus and figure things out on a night-by-night basis. However, this won't work for the pub crawl, so I'm gonna have to withdraw if I can't figure something out. Any thoughts?
If you're looking for a hotel room and you're driving, check out www.hotwire.com or www.travelocity.com. They have hotels for $40-70 a night but they're all by the airport which would be a 15+ minute drive. Split that 3-4 ways and you're looking at pocket change for a roof over your head each night.
To complete the last challenge, do we have to invest in the whole robe/tie/sweater/scarf deal, or is wearing the house colors and packing a wand good enough?
While this is ultimately up to your head of house, I will be looking for the following in Gryffindor:
Robes
Hats
Wands
Gryffindor Colors
Ties
Other wizardly accessories
Any combination of the following satisfies the costume challenge for me. I just try to avoid people showing up in a black shirt with WIZARD written across it in white letters.
I've been meaning to put together a guide entitled "Diagon Alley for the Discerningly Thrifty Witch or Wizard" so here's some quick tips.
Find someone who has a black graduation robe. Spice it up with some house colors and you're instantly a wizard/witch.
Here is the official map showing all 7 bars that are included in the crawl. Each house has their own schedule listed in the OP so follow that. The first bar on the schedule is the meeting place for that house.

My costume has that but not colours as McGon always wore like green and black.
But at least my costume is slutty.

ok so I just realized I have no idea what 'house' I am in...
Also I'll be doing this alone... unfortunately my crazy booze drinking friend bailed on me.
Really too bad because man can that guy hold his liquor.
Also Gryffindors: Don't forget your Child's Play donations! Bring cash and show these lesser houses who really deserves the House Cup!

Found out a few days ago that I'm going to be having family coming into town that weekend. So not only is the triwizard tournament a no-go, but all of PAX as well. At least some of the standbys will get their tokens and whatnot.

Come to Hufflepuff, the beer & pizza house. No ambition, no bravery, no outstanding scholarship; we're just in it for the fun.
+1 to that! We're not here to waste time with rivalry shenaniganz, back stabbing, or trying so hard to win that you ultimately lose! We're gunna rock the mutha effing place! (in a respectful manner so as not to get kicked out of the bar)

Oh yeah, I have a +1 in !RavenClaw now. We'll be the two guys who don't look like wizards at all.
Ravenclaws, being the house widely known for their intelligence and tolerance, accepts and welcomes modernized wizards as much as they do those from more traditional backgrounds.
Less than a week! How exciting. I noticed that my +3 people never got added, so I guess they would be on slytherin standby....oh well....that is what they get for not haunting the bored themselves!
Woooooooooooo. *a-hem* Sorry, my excitement is getting hard to contain!

Same boat here, I guess I'm just resigned to the fact that the my evenings will be capped off by a $36 cab ride.
BTW: I just want to point out that SLYTHERIN will be engaging in both shenanigans AND back-stabbing, along with heavy drinking with a big win in the end.
So, if you actually want to enjoy yourself, you come to Slytherin. Otherwise, play with the other goobers.
Oh... well damn. Fine King county metro... ruin my helpful advice!
Generally regular bus service stops around 1, then there's a few night owl buses for the really popular routes, but eventually the wheels all stop turning for a few hours.
Tonight I'm going to start getting my 'practice' drink on, flight tomorrow and seattle tomorrow night! Really looking forward to seeing you folks next thursday (earlier for those on the magical mystery tour)
Guidelines for the House Duels or Dueling Etiquette And You: A Magic Users Guide
This guide is to clarify a few rules concerning the wizard duels between houses. I know everyone has grand plans of pouring cement mixers and cowboy killers or whatever godawful concoctions people subject their bodies to down each other's throat. While this sounds good in theory, we want everyone to have fun and not worry about a first year student choking on Bloody Tampon and ruining the rest of their night. The following are a few rules to keep things fun:
All Forbidden Curses Are...Forbidden: All drinks must contain only a mix of alcohol. That means no fruit, tabasco sauce, fire, pickles, rubber bands, dirty diapers, razor blades, The Kraken, miniature civilizations, or whatever else your sick little minds come up with.
The Challenger Buys the Drink: To keep things fair and to prevent anyone from breaking their opponents bank by ordering them Dom Perignon mixed with Patron and topped off with Crystal Skull vodka.
Choose Your Partner Outside: At each bar where the duels happen we're going to have over 100 people trying to cram the bar. Help expedite the process by choosing a partner outside then going in together and ordering together.
I think that pretty much covers anything that could pop up. We only have a few more days to go! Get ready for the drunken fun!

Your post wasn't eaten, it's in the middle of what you quoted.

The only thing that haunts the bored around Slytherin is the Bloody Baron.
Oh, and good news! My Amortentia potion totally worked, so +1 !Slytherin for me on Thursday night.
Same boat here, I guess I'm just resigned to the fact that the my evenings will be capped off by a $36 cab ride.
King county Metro's site says that my Bus has a service gap from 2:30 to 5:30. So I might get lucky, but I'm in for the duration!

And that is why I gave up on being an English major....*face palm*
It was kinda awkward when my coworkers asked about my weekend plans :P
