But after he fireballs they learned to start doing that armor breaking kick after which knocks me on my ass. So I tried to be smart and block it so now I am in their face but I am not sure what to do from there, jabs and c.hk worked great but I still lost.

Yea, boxer has an insane poke game. Mixing it up between pokes, sweeps, and grabs can net you a lot of damage, and if you do get a poke in it can link to a headbutt -> super/ultra.

you're doing it to early probably. You need to wait a bit. When you activate it, they should be right about at head height, then hold down kick to get the uppercuts to juggle them.

I really hate that lots of characters have good crossups that lead into ambiguous option mixups for decent damage, and Sakura has jumping short. That requires precise timing and distance. And leads into tiny, heavily-scaled combos.

Thanks for the kind words, but after that incredible beat down it kinda feels like that's all they are :D

I'll keep working on actually giving you a challenging opponent, one win from 10 doesn't really feel like I'm doing much more than boring you. I'll queue you up in a week or so!

I'm never bored playing, glad it can help you improve your game and it allows me to bang out the kinks in my game. And since the first time we played you have improved a lot. I think there were a lot of moves I threw out there I was hoping you would punish, you have to jump on those. And you know I'm a throwing whore so you should ready a tech at all times. But you did tech some, did some cross overs, made good use of Ken's pokes etc. Nicely done.

    Until next time.

I've stopped stressing over my BP number now. I went up to just over 2000 when I was really trying, but caring about it just makes losing painful.

I dropped down to 1100 again recently, and I use it like everyone should - not as an e-peen, but a rough measure of how good your game is. I mean I've beaten a 4500BP Guile but lost to a 100BP Akuma on the same day, so it's no guarantee of skill.

I can't believe it's the same guy. But he definitely talks like that. He's very popular in the CT crowd.

I just started to realize last night how beastly Guile's air throw is. Both of those are amazing options to use, and I'm pissed that it's taken me this long to figure them out.

To any Guile players, if you aren't regularly using your air throw, you're playing him wrong :P

I don't really care about BP I just want to win and it is insane how lucky these guys are getting. I will be holding block and Ryus ultra hit me twice while I was holding block. Or that Sagat guy who was terribad and almost perfected me, that was fun.

Honestly man, virtually every one of your posts is a complaint about game mechanics when in reality you have to be doing something wrong. If you're actually blocking there's no way Ryu's ultra hit you unless you were dizzy, crumpled, or he juggled you into it.

It's kind of irritating to hear you bitch constantly. I don't understand how you're having any fun when you have a handful of posts every day whining about how bullshit the game is.

For it to hit, you need to have them in the air just above head height I find. Much lower than that and you are going to get hurt because they'll recover AFTER the last hit but before you're out of the animation. Also, there's a trick to making it connect properly. Balrog can activate his ultra with PPP or KKK and depending on which you're holding during the ultra, depends on what kind of punch you'll do. If you don't press anything it, defaults to PPP. To sucessfully do the ultra after a headbutt, you need to open with whichever, leave it to default to PPP for the second punch and thern hold KKK for the rest of the Ultra. This will make you land 4 out of 5 hits, instead of just whiffing after the first.

    I suck at fighting games.

I play a lot of fighting games (not very well).

When it comes to move canceling in SFIV, I'm more or less throwing everything to chance.

I'm trying to do an Emergency Combo after a Heavy Kick or whatever, but I'm apparently not doing it in a way that the software enjoys.

Timing? Buttons? Too untalented? Have wasted the last decade of my life?

This is a tough one. Up close, the heavy kick does two hits, and you have to cancel into the super before the second hit, which realistically gives you about a quarter of a second to do qcf x2 p.

I'm not sure what character you're using, but there is a shortcut if your character does not have a qcf k special. In that case you could do qcf k qcf p to do the heavy kick canceling into the super. That should make it easier to get the super off before the 2nd hit of the heavy kick lands. At least I know this works with Gouken and his heavy kick into super.

"High level" online play is boring as shit. I hit 7000 a few days ago and virtually every person I've been matched up against plays formulaic Ryus or Sagats that spend the entire match playing keep-away like I'm Zangief. It's fucking absurd.
