I honestly haven't been in PVP for quite some time now, but I can tell you that as a scout and FC for small group PVP, any logistics ships would probably be fairly high up on my list to call as primary. They don't have as much survivability as they might be giving someone else. At the very least I'd have someone shooting at you to get your tank running so you'd have less juice to help others with.

As for bigger fleet engagements, I honestly dunno, I'm the type to run and shit his pants when there are more than 25 ships opposed to me.

Man, that was hilarious. 52 million skill points, a plethora of experience, and you don't even read the bloody OP? Epic.

    Anyway.

Guys, I want to do wulfpax while my things are building. I'm scared to death about taking my rigged-up Hound for a spin before getting some experience; I've barely had any small-level pvp time. I'm fairly close to being able to fly a Scimitar - about a week, really. And it's en-route to getting command ships, my ultimate goal. Would it be smart to get a Scimitar (somehow) and tag along with a PVP group?
Seems to me that they are:
    -Very handy for allies
    -A bitch to kill
-Not primaried as they don't directly affect the battle

Does this seem like a good idea?

    *edit* Skills. <-info here.
Yes, absolutely. Logistics are the MVPs of subcap fleets right now.

scimitars are incredible hard to kill, BC sized tank combined with amazing speed, and frigate sig radius. Combined you can tank a couple BS ships with kiting, and in another logistics repping you and you can laugh at most small gangs.

I don't know wtf to do with the high slots though. I can make pulses fit with a 3% CPU implant, but I am not really using any of the ship bonuses. Not sure if I am wanting a scram instead or what. Anything in particular about this that sticks out as bad idea?

But...but...DPS! No range bonus to those neuts, and I don't like getting that close to shit in a ship that costs $100 mil and is also a cruiser.

Yeah, I saw the U-Boat and will probably end up with that, but this has nearly the same EHP and is also fast-ish.

the neut range isn't any worse than your shitty pulse lasers, and if you're flying a T2 cruiser you should have an idea of when you should and shouldn't engage

and your pilgrim is a neuting drone boat, you don't need it to be fast any more than a dominix needs to be fast, whereas your mid slots can be used for any number of useful things such as cap mods, ewar mods, tackling mods, drone mods, etc

Those pulses can hit out to almost 30km with scorch.

But yeah, that makes sense. I get this special snowflake-itis every once in awhile. Finished Amarr Cruiser V a couple days ago, and I have just started really looking at the T2 cruisers.

First off, I didnt ask to be in Merch Industrial, I just asked if anyone knew of a good corp.

Second, you community member holds no water. People join corps ALL the time without posting on the EVE-O/PA-Forums.

Thrid, it's up to each and every corp to do thier research on the players they recruit. My corp record stands for itself. I have never stolen and/or spied on a corp and recruitng corps would be able to find out that info with very little research. i leave that to people with more time than I have.

fourth, I dont know how you took my post as me strolling in on my high horse. I mearly posted what I was looking for in a corp and what I could offer, thats it.

Fifth, I didnt bitch about being called a spy, i just called you paranoid and a troll (which you are)

sixth, You are the one that needs to get off his high horse, calm down your paranora and just realise that I was just looking for reccomendations on corps.

seventh, I have been playing eve for a long time so such your pie hole about me buying my character. I have never bought any characters/ISK EVER.

Anyone who shoots and pods you while you are flying a destroyer is doing you a favor. Skip destroyers, go straight in to cruisers so you can get battle cruisers (or skip battle cruisers and go straight to battle ships)

So I'm downloading the trial of this game right now after reading the first post of the thread. It sounds like a great departure from the MMO's I'm used to playing like WoW and City of Heroes. But after the first thread, this threads really hard to follow, since I don't know the lingo/politics of the game. What advice can you guys give an EVE newb?

    Spy.

Ohhh excuse me for not being an elite member and not posting on the forums everyday. TBH I rarely post on any forums because of people like you.

    Troll

    Serious bidness time.

EvE is a game with an outstanding meta. People infiltrate and destroy corporations with regularity. Corps that are for community members generally have a very simple requirement. Be a community member. Merch Industrial does not accept applications really, you either have to be a community member, or be good friends with a community member.

You strolled in here on your high horse, and then bitched when we called you a spy. You obviously don't know the EvE meta. I hope you didn't pay too much for your character. Go try an empire corp, they'll totally stroke your ego and buy your bullshit.

0.0 corps generally don't need a character with 52million sp as much as they need someone they can trust.

edit: and I know you came in here asking for a 'good corp' recommendation, but it should be pretty clear anyone who posts he is either a goon or a Merch. No we don't know any other good corps, we are the good corps.

I don't know who you are but that is a fucking outstanding post. Gold star for you.

    Hi guys!

Have just started Eve, on a 14 day trial account, about to apply to the corp as Sais Sarain - please let me in, I'm bored alone! Registered on the MerchI forums, but no access to anything :( so can't say hello.

Trying to figure it all out, I'm getting there slowly! Have just got myself into a Merlin, basics seem OK but there is an AWFUL lot that I think would take a long time to learn.

Anyway, please let me in, I want some Corp mates! I am in UK, so am one of those odd timezone people.

Anyway, I'm off to find some Sister person for my next lot of missions! Hopefully see you all ingame :)

PS, I'm not a spy, no idea how to prove that though!

There is absolutely no way you can prove you're not a spy. It's like proving you're innocent: Logic doesn't flow in that direction. You just to have to give us enough reason to trust you with a shot at actually not being a pubbie spy.
