The way I see MP working for this game would be something simular to Archon. You would have a chess like board(with assorted environments), and then when you move a 'piece' onto an already occupied space, it will zoom in for a third-person-shooter one-on-one fight between the characters. There would have to be some systems in place for people(like me) who suck at third-person-shooters, so that they won't get massacred every single engagement, but otherwise I think that would be the best system.
What could kill a VC-styled multiplayer game would be intercepting fire. I can't tell you how many times my guys have gunned down enemies just moving into position.
Seriously
Although I can't think of a way to keep VC's unique combat system unless
1) the squads were waaay smaller
2) the maps were much, much bigger
3) Turns were timed
Which would be a complete deviation from VC's combat system. I think...Valkyria's? suggestion of a sort of VC-by-internet (the same way one has chess by mail) would be the only feasible way to play it. Which would also allow a degree of secrecy in how your turns were played
If the turns weren't timed, you'd be sitting there for an hour until your opponent decides to end his turn.
I haven't played the DLC yet but episode 9 would seem to be Selvaria's Story? I'm liking the anime so far in that we're given the game in a streamlined version without having to click on each frame. However, with episode eight and nine we just totally missed the huge battle in the Barious Desert.

the only one that changes during your second play through?
Speaking of which, finished the game. Loving new game+ because I can breeze through all the early stuff, getting revenge on all the fights that drove me crazy. AKA 1-turning them with Alicia revenge, which while cheap in a way, feels oh so good. I've cleared 13 chapters already today, AGAIN. And I just beat the darn game yesterday night. Less than 24 hours ago!
The only chapter that gave me any trouble when I replayed it was
the one with the Batomys
because it managed to one-shot the Edelweiss from across the map once, and later a certain someone managed to one-shot one of my good characters, then ran over and perma-killed them. Grrrrr stupid cheap enemies.
And I didn't rewatch any of the cutscenes, what changes in that one?

You see Faldio and he talks to Alicia. Says some pretty nifty stuff to her too.
Umm, it was always like that in my game.
Really? I vaguely remember that...
Welkin's search for the truth alone with the new tank commander took place AFTER that cutscene, so they wouldn't want you to know quite what went on when "someone" brought the lance. Also, I honestly don't remember his "Kill them all!" comment being in their the first time.
I could be wrong, of course.
Is there a list out there of the minimum possible turns for each battle? For example, if A-rank is 3 turns, but it can physically be done in one, et cetera. Actually, fuck that. I don't want to see it, it will only cause me pain. I've also never saved mid-mission, and never plan to.

You don't want to see, but if you press triangle and select Objective (or something like that, I haven't played in a month) it will tell you what your current grade is.

Oh, that's cool. And not bothersome to my sanity. I have been checking a FAQ before each mission on my second playthrough anyway, to see what I need to be shooting for to get an A anyway.
What I meant was a guide written by an insane VC fan that got every mission down to it's bare minimum, ie. 1, 2, 3 turns. Although like I said, trying to get that low on some of them may make me insane too.
Ah, just read Henoroid's summary on the Selvaria missions. A bit of a shame to be honest as it would be cool fighting against ninja-esque units.
Ain't my summary yo.

I just now got to see episode 10 of the anime.
I like how they handled the cabin scene this time around, to be honest. At first I was skeptical of the conditions changing (they weren't on the run from Imperial patrols after an attack, just hiding from a storm), but it worked out for the better. Alicia suddenly having the hots for Welkin felt out of place a bit.
Do Ayako's..."works" skip for anyone else? I couldn't even get very far into episode 2. :-( Do anyone's versions play well on the PS3? (and as an added bonus, are HD?)

Where are those arts coming from? And yeah, I work in a high school, so that stuff is definitely "pretty much" or "sorta" worksafe. Go ahead and post the Freesia one, I'm curious.
Okay, you know what, this game is awesome, but at the same time, REALLY FREAKING STUPID. I can't believe that finishing a new game+ doesn't just leave the whole game open. No, I have to unlock everything fucking again, because I chose to watch the epilogue (thinking it would just spit me out in book mode, with the book fully opened).
Learn from my example people, don't watch the goddamn epilogue on your second run through. FRAK!
Yeah... it's not the greatest implementation of new game+ to put it mildly. It probably would have been better had your book mode status had auto save and have everything always re-playable (oh and make those pages turn a lot faster, pointless animation is pointless) with no new game+. The save system in VC is pretty archaic: I must have over a 100 saves of varying book mode status and of battles in progress which I need to cull some day.

I'm not at home to check the name of the cutscenes, but I'm just prior to the Ch. 14 battle, having read this, I'm curious..
Is the cutscene you're talking about the one where Alicia is in bed and the lance is set there? Because if so, mine didn't show Faldio or have anything said.
Anyone have any idea what seems to be causing people to get the extended cutscene if its not newgame+?
I just beat this game yesterday. Bad. Ass. I took like 3 months off (street fighter 4 consumes) and decided it was time to get back into this. I'm considering a ng+ and possibly getting the DLC as well.
Umpteenth time listening to the opening. Still loving it. Also, since I'm a hardcore Selvaria lover, I say this was a much-needed episode to add character to the Azure Witch.
Anyway, this is the anime version of Karl Oswald's and Selvaria's platonic relationship. Instead of being a helmet-head Engineer/Engineer Elite-to-Scout Elite, Oswald goes from Central Intelligence/Elite (he's already an Elite according to subs) to Selvaria's pet.
Central has assigned several agents to the Drei Stern generals. We have what looks like Imperial Clones of Ted and Welkin and some random dude. And [STRIKE]Welkin Clone[/STRIKE] Karl is assigned to Selvaria. (On a sidenote, let it be known I'd love to see an Imperial Ted try to make Gregor laugh w/o losing his organs or parts.)
Maxi's asked to come home and report. Alone. Everyone should've at least guessed that when they mean "come alone", they mean "assassination/assassination attempt". He tells Selvaria to be a good girl and watch the fort, and leaves.
Obviously, Selvaria's really not a good girl, as she keeps wanting to follow her master, but her loyalty to Maxi conflicts with her personal feelings for master. Karl does use this to hold Selvaria from going. (On a sidenote, I wonder if Karl ever washed his gloved hands after urinating on the walls...)
Meanwhile, the people behind the assassination attempt are made known; cue Maxi's older brother and evil cohorts. This is why if you become royalty, try to restrict yourself to one son and one daughter... Or just one kid... Unless you're like a lion; tossing the cubs out of the den and off a hill and only let the ones that come back on their own get special priviledges.
Anyway, as the episode progresses, it turns out that Karl was somewhat thickheaded as well, and realized that it was a suicide mission he had accepted. He's saved by his master, Selvaria. "He's my playtoy, so you can't shoot him." Then she and Jaeger milk out the info from Karl.
Back at Maxi's manor, Creed the many Assassins assault the home. They kill off a bunch of stormtroopers w/o much difficulty. Unfortunately for them, Karl's on his way, driving and pledging his mind and body to Selvaria. Jaeger is having fun.
Selvaria eventually goes "Limit Breaker: Level 1" and starts Matrix-style moves (I must say her Matrix style moves she did when saving Karl was sexy and awesome). She eventually reaches Maxi, and expects punishment, but only receives a bland rebuff.
As morning rises, Selvaria does the trademark "hand in hair w/ breeze while smiling". Really adorable IMO.
Maxi is given a second review chance, and he warns his brother to watch himself as well. Karl is writing a second letter to mother about his new life as a slave.
Awesome episode, got some additional Selvaria backstory (the only canon bit (as far as Game Canon) being the bit about her being isolated and alone before Maxi came). The only thing that was missing was the breast rub and the following bitchslap.
Ep.10:
Different version of the Kloden Woods section. Instead of a dead and dying Imp intruding on Welkin's and Alicia's interlude, we've an exhausted, wounded and partly insane (probably the mountainous weather) Imp w/ a grenade and a machine gun. Also, Alicia wasn't hurt, and neither she nor Welkin had fallen from a surprise mortar shell. Both scouted the area together, and ended up in the cabin due to Welkin's prediction of a snowstorm.
The cabin's found early on (due to Welkin warning Alicia of the snowstorm), and most of the time spent in the first third of the episode covers a bit of history between Welkin and Alicia, as well as improves their relationship (only Welkin refuses to take advantage of the alternate method of warming up; kissing (what else did you expect?)). We find that many of Welkin's actions were not only to try and distance himself from his father's fame, but also because of his father's actions (catching bugs w/ his son). We also gain more info on Alicia. If you've played the game and unlocked most of Alicia's info, you'd know about her love for baking as well as the info that she's an orphan.
The Imperial comes in after Welkin and Alicia have slept; and tries to get them to surrender. Welkin refuses, and in the end, a two-on-one stalemate is made. It'll be a war of attrition from that point onwards.
Back at Squad 7 camp, the rest is worried about those two. Jann worries about staying in enemy territory while Rosie worries over beginning a search-and-rescue. Largo decides to wait 2 more hours. Rosie then wonders about Isara's unusual manner, and Largo basically says (in a roundabout way) that Isara's worried the most, and is working hard to prevent herself from worrying too much.
Back at the cabin, we find that the Imp is still wounded, but is too paranoid about being a soldier first instead of a human; which is what Alicia basically reminds him as she willingly walks up to him to treat him. He lets her treat him, but reminds them both of the grenade.
Jann reinforces Largo's statement about expressing worry. Largo makes his decision...
In the cabin, the kindness shown by Alicia and Welkin soften the heart of the dying Imperial. We find out that he was another victim of false ideals and war. He simply wanted to improve his life. It turns out the wounds he got was from deserting, and that his name was Mikail Weber. He manages to put the pin back into the grenade before dying, and asks Welkin (surprisingly, he didn't recognize the last name Gunther) and Alicia to remember him. Cue "Game Over" track from the game. The Imperials so far have been portrayed more negatively than in the game.
The next day, the Imps that come to the cabin find the grave of their deserted comrade. They opt not to pursue the Gallians, since they did honor one of theirs, even if he was a deserter.
Welkin and Alicia thought that they'd be left behind, but it turns out that Largo's decision was to wait. It paid off. Isara's the first to see her brother. Rosie looks lost deciding whether to follow the others up to meet their commander.

Evening in the ballroom. Alicia in a dress, Welkin in dress formals... [STRIKE]Viletta Nu[/STRIKE] Selvaria and Jaeger... Jaeger kissing Alicia's hand... Selvaria suspecting something about Cordelia... Cordelia looking lifeless and a clone of Isara... Good times. 8-)

Boo on you. :? I wrote such a lengthy review for two of the Episodes that I had finished watching (Ep.11 RAW wasn't done DL'ing), and all you had to say was "Ep.11 is out".
That's cold. :P
But now that Ep.11 RAW is complete, I'll be watching it and giving a review when time permits.
I lent my game to a friend last night. I still haven't played/finished the DLC, but after I completed my new game only to watch in horror as it told me I had to fight through every chapter again I decided to take a break.
I booted up FFVII last night, because he lent me Shaun White Snowboarding, and it sucks hard.

Also, Episode 9 and 10 subs are out. Valkyria, I'm waiting for your summary.
It's not the same as her DLC.
