I like Blueside. The stories feel a lot more heroic than red does villainous. I also find the ATs more satisfying - Corrs and Doms don't feel particularly archetypal to me. I'm totally up for being a supervillain, but redside really disappointed me on that front.
I'm not one for farms or maximum xp/hour, so the travel times are fine for me - I enjoy seeing the game world. One of my most recent characters is a Natural Scrapper with no travel power, and that brings a whole other game of exploring the world, finding routes, and fighting/sneaking past street enemies.
Also, my computer is old, and redside runs about 10fps slower.

Although I do enjoy exploring the world, ya posh is insane. A Scooter 2 if you will. I guess as long as he never expects people to wait for him he isn't hurting anyone so whatever.
I don't know, some of the best times I've had in game were in the Hollows pre travel powers; just navigating around the world became an interesting experience.
I wouldn't necessarily want to go back to that, but it was fun.

I don't like redside enemies, I don't like redside stories, I don't like the redside mission tilesets, and I generally find blue teams to flow better than red teams, with less death and waiting and such.
Contacts, zones, and such sure. But that stuff doesn't really phase me much. I was around at launch, running in and out of Founders Fall. I played WoW, ran around the Crossroads like 4 times to the point where I can remember which quests to grab together because they travel to the same area. I play TBSes where I have to micromanage tons of city/planets - although I do draw the line at having to move units back and forth for 15 minutes a turn.

i have also played lots of WoW, and am sick of crap like running up and down the barrens
You don't really have to do any of that, though. Scoot's basically right; we can have a discussion about how horribly designed that content is, but you can have a jetpack within an hour and a travel power within two or three even if you aren't farming the MA. Does it matter if it's hard to get around without a travel power when everyone with a working frontal lobe has one?
It's probably no worse than running across mercy 5-6 times doing the stupid burke/snake eyes missions anyway.

Did they ever flesh out the VEAT missions or finish the storyline? I remember when I last played that the thing ended abruptly and I was pissed, since the VEAT storylines were some of the worst goddamn missions I've ever played and I was deprived of even a conclusion, much less a moderately satisfying one.

I wonder when the game flips to reactivate the dead accounts for the week. I was debating reactivating over the past few days (some limited access to a similar game's closed beta has got me fiending) so this free reactivation week is timed perfectly.

Forget the Nazis! MORE COSTUME CHANGE EMOTES. YAY!!
Aw, heck, if that ain't enough we got us a minor patch up on test. The big note is: Extensively revamped the Custom Critters powers Rank and Difficulty settings. Power selection for custom critters should be better standardized, more flexible and provide finer control over the difficulty of custom critters.
Holy crap, blue side content that makes me want to dust off my blue toons and play them.

I solo lots and lots anyway (no I dunno why soloing an MMO is so much better than a single-player game, but it just is). Anyway that character has a Raptor Pack for emergencies.
Ya know, if it wasn't for the overall suckiness of the Martial Arts set, these costume emotes(specifically the backflip) would probably make a Power Ranger-type hero possible.
Also, I took a joke character from level 7 to 21 and got me some 5700 tickets. Which translates into yet more money streaming into my Villain side.
Oddly enough I've found that the only characters I have with more than 500 are only my villains. Meaning that the two of them are actually more rich than all of my heroes put together.
Weird.
Edit: Awww, I didn't know I'd be on the top of the page. In that case, since they announced new faces for i15, this screenshot I took of my new favorite hero seems rather appropriate
Civilian Brother, or Evil Retail Clone? You Decide!
Our next update, appropriately named Issue 15: Anniversary, features a host of new features and content including major updates and improvements to the Mission Architect system.
5th Column Task Force
* Villain Strikeforce (Levels 45 - 50): 5 Missions
o The Villains are hired for what seems like a simple, high-paying job: Steal information from the Hero 1 Time Capsule. Things go awry when the job ends up leading to the return of an enemy from the past. Now the villains have to deal with the mess they've made - while trying to make as much profit from it as possible.
* Hero Taskforce (Levels 45 - 50): 5 Missions
o The Heroes follow the trail of some stolen information to find that an old foe is returning... in a big way! Forced to deal with an invasion, the Heroes must scramble to find a way to defeat a seemingly unstoppable enemy.
New Costumes - New Issue 15 costumes include the Vines and Ulterior themed costume sets. More details to come!
New Costume Change Emotes* - Just recently introduced in Super Booster II: Magic, Costume Change Emotes represent a brand new feature type that provide fun and colorful transitions between two different costumes for a given character. Players activate them using the costume change interface, selectable from the main Menu.
*By default characters only have one costume slot, and must unlock additional costume slots through activities in the game. This can be accomplished by completing costume slot missions at levels 20, 30, and 40; and by using Halloween Event salvage (which can also be bought, sold or traded via the in-game Consignment Houses).
New Character Faces - Over 20 new character faces provide even more options for character customization
Mission Architect Updates
* Architect toolbox allows players to better and more easily polish their content before sharing it with the public.
* Missions can now be selected for both "Hall of Fame" and "Dev Choice," allowing players to attain both badges. "Dev Choice" missions also have selectable reward types.
* Enhanced searching and navigation options like key phrase tagging and arc difficulty display help players find the content they're looking for even faster
* New Server-wide Architect Chat channel
* Plus several other features and improvements to Mission Architect

Downloading the client right now. I don't think I have a character on Virtue, but I won't be surprised if I did. I'll try to get an SG invite and I can see myself subbing for a month and playing again, because I am super bored right now.
They sound universally useful, rather than being cool looking and only fitting for like 5 concepts total. Howl for human/beast transformations, cackling for good/evil switches, backflip for surprise butsecks... no idea what Vanguard Sigil is though.
I'd have to see it really, but they just don't sound terribly seamless. The existing ones all hide the transformation, which I don't see a howl doing. The backflip costume change you can already do.
Yes, but it doesn't seem to be working for me. Oh, the cruel mistress that is joblessness.
Ah crap.
Well, it might just activate later today. They weren't specific on what time the accounts get reactivated.
I also cannot believe this game is that old now. Then again, I can, seeing my alts names and backstorys develop over time. When I get on i'll be re-rolling on Virtue, though, so we shall have a great time. I'll just have to be patient, like I was before I realized today was the 28th.
Often the initial info on issues doesn't cover everything.
Or even the main stuff.
Actually the initial info tends to have more than what actually gets in, with major features being pushed back to other issues. The only stuff that usually doesn't get mentioned is emotes and costume changes, and minor QoL stuff.
That they went so specific as to list the emotes in their first announcement indicates to me that there's not much in this one. I mean, 10 missions, which probably reuse some maps. Some new faces, and a few emotes that are probably 90% based on existing emotes.
I really want to know what their zone people have been doing for the past 3 issues. Or their NPC people, no new enemies since i12 either.

For those of you who got the AE box: check the included map. Specifically, the NE corner of Steel Canyon.
[Edit] - We need to put together another Arcadians farm team. I may or may not have gone a bit overboard building the Water Temple and suddenly there's not enough prestige to buy the generator.

I never deal with contacts or anything and I still haven't done the hero cape or aura missions
I still hate blueside because the ATs suck and paragon city seems to have a much, much higher rate of idiots per capita than the rogue isles
someone please nuke atlas park

They haven't added new face textures to the game since CoV.
