According to Steam it's 8 hours away. Doesn't seem like they are doing preloading which is annoying, although I guess Braid probably isn't a very big dl.

It's available at a few other places, Impulse is the only one I remember. Pretty sure they're all the same price and release time so it's basically just preference which you choose.

Whats Impulse? I think id rather get it on steam, since I've got an account with a few other games on it.

Weekend deal you say? Do go on...

It's up for sale on Greenhouse already. I'm downloading the demo right now. That's the best part of Greenhouse, they pretty much always have demos.

    The link.

I know it has been said before but I really wish they'd charge $5 extra and release a boxed version so I don't feel like my money just evaporated

I'm currently on my samsunc nc10 laptop and running it the normal way made it crash on startup. In the braid directory (program files/braid) there is a readme file which says that you can run some commands by adding it to the target. So basically create a shortcut to braid.exe, right click -> properties on the shortcut and where it says Target: add -60fps -windowed -no_post

so it will look like "C:\Program Files\Braid\braid.exe" -60fps -windowed -no_post

ive changed the -60fps to -10fps because my laptop sucks but ill get to try it out on my main rig in a few days i hope.

8 hours of waiting is long enough to download and finish The Maw, and I'd highly recommend it. There are no words but the voice acting is fantastic!

So is this going to be $15 on Steam as well? I'd prefer to get it on Steam, but if it costs more I'll just get it on Live instead.

    Interesting thought:

Steam have separate pricing for different regions (UK/USA/EU)
Gamersgate have a USA price and a Euro price (in Euros)
Impulse have one price in USD, and convert it to other currencies. Greenhouse does the same.

It is inevitable that there will be different prices for the same game in the UK, on the different platforms.

I gave the PC demo a try, and found I really didn't like the arrow key controls compared to the 360 joystick. Still essentially the same game though, I'd strongly recommend it.

Yeah, that's pretty stupid of them. They're losing a bunch of sales right now. Why would people wait on steam while other sites already have the game available.

Wasn't Braid a game where the Xbox Live Gold price was cheaper than Silver?

Hey guys, quick question about the Steam release.

I downloaded the demo from greenhouse, but i had to do some 'Right click > properties' stuff to the shortcut exe to get it to run smoothly. Im not gona be able to do this in the steam version because the way it opens games.
Is there a way to turn down the specs ingame?

Not true. Choose a game in your Steam game list, click properties, then click launch options and put the stuff in that box.

So if i put this line in the box it would lower the framerate?:
    "C:\Program Files\Braid\braid.exe" -30fps -windowed -no_post

Thats what made the demo run quicker anyway

I'm talking about games bought through Steam, in which case you'd just put
    -30fps -windowed -no_post

I haven't tried using launch options for shotcuts added to Steam.

    Augh my brain.

Is the greenhouse demo different from the xbl one? I swear I didn't have this much trouble completing the demo when I played it before. I missed the damn jump above the bunny the first time, so I thought you somehow had to use the bunny to jump and spent at least 10 minutes fiddling with which way Mr. Bun faced and finally tried jumping on the bunny from above, but made the jump instead. :?
