[Game On] Worms - PSN

Ok folks, it's out everywhere now (after a bit of a wait in Europe to get the extra language options) is anyone up for a game?

And to flesh out this rather bare bones op, here's some info on the game stolen shamelessly from wikipedia:

Players control a small platoon of worms across a deformable landscape, battling computer or player controlled teams. The game features bright and humorous cartoon-style animation and a varied arsenal of weapons. Full voice communication is also available among the players of the game. However, missing from the game are flames from oil barrels/weapons which eat away the landscape and damage other worms.

Hope you don't mean on XBLA, because the PSN version is better.

As for me, I'd rather play it on PS1.

Also with Armageddon added to the title.

It's the reason I stopped playing Worms online, in the end the matches were going for like 40 minutes! Garhhh!!

I kept shooting my feet because the buttons are different than the DS version

homos online need to get over full wormage, don't they know i'll just jet pack and banana bomb them, wiping them out in 2 turns?

edit: it really hate how you can't see the selected game style when you search for or join a game.
people that start the game at 2/4 also annoy the shit out of me, if i wanted 1v1 i would have joined a 1v1 game!

edit2: bwahaha almost lost a match because the cluster bomb spreads a lot more than it did on the DS version and i haven't used it yet but then my oponent caught his dynamite on a pixil and blew himself up.

I don't much like the jetpack, don't get me wrong, i'm good with it but usually it can pretty much mean a guaranteed kill. The scheme I play with a mate has the jetpack taken out (though I'm happy enough online to play with it in). I'm away all day today but could be up for a game late evening (After Red Dwarf) if anyone's about.

yeah, it seems like jet pack dynamite is all people know online. They're using it even when it's not a good move.

edit: yay finally finished that 4player match, lost the first round to the red player, won the second as described in above post with red being the dynamite thrower, drew the 3rd because i happened to bounce the last guy on top of me and blew myself up then dominated the 4th, red guy got taken out early so it was easy.
edit: they really dropped the ball on the lobby system and online features on this, it really ruins online play with non-friends.

I just picked this up and its complete win, also playable on my satellite internet connection =p anyway my psn id is taliosfalcon and i'm up for games whenever. Its sad to see how little love its getting on the forums though =(

I'm still debating throwing more money at this one. I still own it for my PC and still own a copy on my DC. But I'm at least here showing Worms some love

i was wavering for pretty much the same reason but then i figured eh, hopefully this one will actually have people playing online + no hacks + playing in HD on my tv. So far I am not dissapointed...although it doesn't appear to have any text chat options, which pisses me off

edit: my only gripe is that everyone online seems to only play the unlimited ninja rope modes, which sucks as people abuse the fuck out of it.

I'll be up for some games tomorrow, I'm in on my own in the evening.

I'll quite happily play with no/limited jetpack and ninja rope.

Well I think the main problem is that you can't see what scheme it's on before the game starts and every pre made scheme except pro and BnG has unlimited rope. I basically gave up on joining games and only play if I can get enough people to join my own.

you can tell it to only show you games of a certain type in the join options though, it takes a bit longer to find a game but i've taken to only playing pro to avoid people roping across the entire screen over and over again too.

The fact that they didn't include any way to mute people is slowly driving me crazy though. I'd say I end up playing half my matches with my tvs sound turned off so I don't have to listen to random jackass 1 burp and giggle the entire game or random jackass 2 who has his mic set to voice activated and has a fucking slurpee or something.

2D worms is way better than 3D. I wish they'd just re-release Armageddon every 3 years with some new terrains and compatibility with the latest OS.

Add me, even though I'll probably have my PS3 freeze 90% of the time while searching for your rooms. Seriously, this game seems so buggy regarding the search function it's ridiculous.

try only searching for specific game types (beginner,intermediate,pro) I know mine will freeze up pretty much every time if i try to search for every type but I haven't had it do it once if I only look for specifics. Sure it takes a bit longer searching again if there aren't any of a specific type up, but its better than restarting your ps3 5 times

Are you kidding me? The 3D Worms games are horrible.

afaik the psn version has more level types, a better random level generator, more team customization options more weapons and better physics. The 360 version had a bunch of stuff cut due to xbla size restrictions at the time of its release

They were "ok" but the 2d versions are considerably more fun.
