AD is hilarious and crazily well written for what seems on the surface to be yet another dysfunctional family sitcom
even at just the level of dysfunction there's a lot to enjoy. michael constantly makes the same mistakes his father made. and the manipulation.
What's even greater is how everything just ties in so well together and loops back in over and over with constant references. The show's memory is really good. Annyong's return is probably the best example of this.
I saw Willow first, and oh my god I spent like a year watching it every chance I could afterwards.
80s had some absolutely amazing fantasy movies.
They just don't make them like they used to
CGI tends to lend to a lot more action and a lot less story.
more that people want to put as little into something as possible. there's no reason I can think of that cgi should make a story worse than a puppet. or better, for that matter.
Supernatural romance is a booming genre right now.
If I could just figure out what makes certain kinds of bad writing profitable, I'd make a mint.
It was pretty big on the internet back in the day, so I'm not surprised it's become such a big force in the larger culture now. Though this does suggest the inevitable rise of a non-digital furry fad.

what was your favorite parts? that's a very open question, I was going to ask last night but it got hard to talk with the music. and the politics.

Yes, they were amazing.
No, they don't make them like that anymore. But you know what. I'm ... old enough now and I've never had a movie make me cry repeatedly every time I see it until I saw Wall-E.
Also, Wal-Mart needs to get off their high horse and start selling vibrators next to all those Twilight and other vampire sex books. Not that they need to make even more obscene amounts of money, but shit money's money.

Oh god.
I know what to get like half the women I know now.
Vibrators in the shape of vampire-killing stakes.

The joke about buster losing his hand chair.
That happens in an episode before he loses his real hand.

I really appreciate how AD doesn't explain all the jokes. For instance, I was explaining to a friend how a loose seal bit off buster's hand, my friend went "Lucille bit off Buster's hand" and my jaw dropped.
also, the whole Lucille / buster's hand getting bit off by a loose seal thing is utterly brilliant
Mountain Goats song for every occasion
I get letters telling me since I moved away
you've taken to hanging out on that rock about a mile from shore
given what I know about that rock mainly that it's populated by seals
I strongly suggest to you that you not hang out there anymore
'cause the seal is a wily and a vicious creature
and the seal will bite you if you give him half a chance
yeah the seal has a mind set on violence
and the seal is the sworn enemy of man
now when I say that the seal is vicious I use the term advisedly
according to webster's 9th new collegiate definition 4b.
which states that vicious means marked by ferocity
and offers as a synonym...savage
'cause the seal is a vicious and a wily creature
and the seal has a mind full of evil designs
and the seal will harm you and laugh about it
yeah the seal is not a creature you want to toy with

I don't think they ever point it out in the show.
they do
when buster goes into the ocean someone yells "LOOSE SEAL!" and he turns around because he thinks lucille is there.

PS don't ask me how I found this page.
I'm just waiting for Jacobean Revenge Plays to make a come back, sell my script for The Duke of Madrinodia and make a killing.
No justice in this world.

There is a woman in that picture.

I've had to ignore fun-sounding jobs because they required me to watch as much TV as most people here do.
Hold me Cenj, hold me tight.
And don't ever let go.
most tv will make you stupid. rarely, but sometimes, it is elevating.
I enjoy both types.
Oh god.
I know what to get like half the women I know now.

Thank you, Elldren for appreciate the utter wit of this joke.
Seriously, you dudes are dropping the ball here. That joke was comedic gold.
you are stupid
I only watch three shows right now.
Well, two, now that this season of Damages is over.
I wish more people watched Damages.
hold on, let me look up the references I don't get and I'll let you know.

I like when they realize the seal is just like buster. out of it's comfort zone, and it loses its arm.
and gob says it was probably back home, swimming around in a circle, freaking out its whole family.
You are Homer J. Simpson.
Right data, right conclusion, wrong attribution.
Jerk.
No, there isn't. And law school just reinforced my opinion of that.
But yeah, it really does anger the blood when I think about that actually being relevant to RL.
way off. I could never support a family
edit - but still. sounded fun, but dear god if you had to watch that much tv you might have...
If you die on the table don't expect a tip.

This time with mp3
(note that the song was written before the show was)
