We had been using Ventrilo/TeamSpeak and stuff for voice but we want to video chat it up for our game nights. We have tried a couple things but we haven't really found anything worth keeping with. Google chat only supports 1 on 1 and the program we did find was Oovoo but that one makes you pay after a month of use.
Is there anything decent out there for this sort of thing?
Back in the day, we used to use Yahoo chat that allowed multiple people on webcams. It's not really nice looking, but it works. We had I think 6-8 people all using their own webcams, talking on mics, and chatting.

You might have to get some video conferencing thing although I'm not sure which ones are free and of decent quality.
EDIT: Actually I don't think Skype handles groups. Also keep in mind the audio quality also depends on the input quality of each person.
