Damnit!
(not that I should be upset it's not like I'm working hard for the money)
Immediately after I spent 1600 on a red drake so I'm not very responsible with my money anyway.
meh... it's not like you need money for much of anything anymore. You earn your gear, raiding almost pays for itself (minus flasks which dailies can take care of)
yeah most of the people who were in the raid tonight probably spent 300-400g apiece in repairs
progression is expensive, its farmed content that more than pays for itself.
you wiped 12-20 times in a night. That's quite a lot of wiping.

Seriously though, I'm intrigued by WoW, which is why I picked it up, but it seems more like a sport than an actual RPG to me. I guess it's just not in my niche, but I do understand the motivation to play and now you guys get to have one less anonymous internet person making fun of you.
Oh come on, we (probably) wouldn't have downed him even if he'd been there. Though we would have made it to phase 4 a few more times and possibly learned it well enough

ok well... good for you? I totally disagree that progression is expensive. So far throughout the course of raiding naxx and even going out to often buy ridiculously overpriced ammo my cash balance stayed about the same. We died a lot there too, but the cash rewards from selling grays, bandages, and gold drops about makes up for things... even the fact that it costs me something like 20-40s to use any ability not related to "make pet bite things"
edit: or perhaps my experience is just grossly different
It's worth it though. I don't care if we wipe on a boss 50 or a hundred times, I'll always enjoy learning encounters more than I enjoy farming an instance. That's why I'm so giddy for hard modes.
I farm all my own reagents for consumables. So really the only thing I shell out for is repairs and between the gold earned from the earlier easy bosses. Plus the handful of dailies I do I come out on top.
But yeah if you buy flasks, food, and potions it can get really really expensive.

Naxx was incredibly easy and had way more trash drops.
We spent like 8 hours total in what could reasonably called "progression mode".
We didn't need 20 fish feasts per night, most people didn't even need to bother with flasks (and the materials were less expensive than they are right now), and we never spent an entire night failing to defeat one boss.
You can't look at a 4 hour raid without a single drop from anything, 20 wipes, 20 fish feasts, 30 flasks, and who knows how many other consumables used and claim that progression is not expensive.
And even if you farm your own consumables, that's time you could have spent doing dailies for piles of cash money instead.

apprently the more i up my crit the more divine aegis procs, and the more the mt stays alive!
Before this patch all you really wanted to do was stack crit, crit and more crit. But EJ has been suggesting that post-patch, you actually need to keep a balance of haste and crit, with more emphasis on crit.
Cilla Black why does reflective shield seem to be considered a shitty talent? On a gut level it looks awesome.... is this an end-game raiding thing?
Pretty sure it only works if the shield is on the priest who casts it. I guess it would be somewhat nice for PvP but it's useless for PvE.
Yes this. The tooltip doesn't do a great job of saying so, but the reflection only affects the priest. Therefore, it's 100% a pvp talent with 0 use in pve.

I blame Cappy. There's obviously not enough independent music and chiseled abdomen in your life.
FOR SHAME, CAPTAIN CTHULHU!
as we all play wow
there's plenty of abdomen

So, congratulations, I guess.

raids on farm = making money
busting your head over and over and over on new encounters until you learn them = expensive
It rains money in Freya's room though.
Yeah it is.
Especially the alchemists bag.
But pretending its not expensive is silly.
