I recently got a PS3. I have a wireless router in my home (an old Linksys WRT54G) and I'm trying to set up a wireless connection to the PS3. I went through "Network Settings" and set everything up on the PS3, but it's not working.
Every time I try to enable that connection, the router gets disabled. On my PC, I get a "Limited Connectivity" message, and neither the PC or the PS3 can access the Internet. The only option I have is to unplug and reset the router. So, for now I have the PS3 connection disabled.
The strange thing is, my Wii behaves perfectly with the router, as does my wife's Mac.
I'll provide the list of settings for the PS3 if necessary, but I don't want to clutter the thread up if those aren't needed, especially given that I suspect the problem might simply be that the router is too damned old.
Help! Thanks in advance for any ideas.

If that dosn't do it then yeah you will just have to set everything with it's own address.
tick that off and it might work
The problem seems to only be between the PS3 and the router. The Wii, Mac and PC don't have to be on for the router to stop working.
Looks like the IP address is the problem. When I try the connection test on the PS3, it can't find an IP address. I have it set currently for automatic IP addressing.
OK, so I'm dumb about this stuff. How do I go about setting static IP addresses?
