From what I know of skaven, which pretty much means reading every few posts from Morsk, pretending they will not or do not exist is pretty much the best way to ensure that they do exist.

I have a secret for you.
Skaven are real. Remember? Them things? Wot your mom told you about when you was befor' the plague took 'er. The gribblies she said 'ud eat you if you didn' 'et yer rat sausage. I ne'er ate 'at nasty stuff, so I didn' smell like on' o' them!
I even tried pissin' on myself af'er I saw 'em one night. The other sewerjacks told me some 'itch 'ey found down there said it halps. It doesn't. They know I seen 'em an they're gonna get me for it. I seem 'em now. 'ery night. I hear that scrabbling ou'side the room. Scritch scritch scritch goes 'em claws. I see them beady eyes, watchin' me through the cracks.
The skaven 'r real. Mark my words boy. They'll come for you too.

Ok well my DoK is rank 6 or something now. I'm still getting disconnected pretty often.
Roleplaying a dark elf is pretty irritating but i've realized only orks rp ever
I tripled my tokens tonight because of zone locking. But I bet T4 locks are more rare, so the system is a bit flawed in that way. Nonetheless, even in early Tiers shit is too expensive. I have done nothing but RvR in Tier 2, and I will outlevel it with maybe one piece from tokens.
Free Association Theatre: Friday is going to be our Tier 1 night. We'll try to max out Empire/Chaos influence. So bring a main or alt and enjoy. For people on the fence about joining this Phoenix Throne guild, this is a good chance to start this thing right. Get a solid group to play with and quickly level out of the early Tiers.
You still play Destro side on EU KEP? That's where my group rolls their Destro alts these days (and Burlok for Order).
Reactivated two weeks ago to check it out again, after playing the first month after release. Having kinda fun so far as a mostly-RVR zealot.
What's your name? Our lowbie team is usually doing PQs and/or RVR, can ping you an offer if you're up when we play (usually between 20h and 23h CET).
I can't give you mine because I got it via the name generator and can't remember it. I felt it was only fitting for a Chaos character.
So what is the best solo leveling spec for engineer? I've tried all sorts of specs, and rifleman seems the best. (Am level 28). I had a healer behind me so I was specced for mass destruction but now I can barely handle 2 mobs by my self.
Oi, stunty git, outta 'no bettah dan to be da stunties.

What's that ringing? Ting-ting-a-linging in my head~? Oh, you're always there, making me whole. You're always waiting up for me. You're my first kiss, ever so pure, and ever so defiling, once lost, can never be the same. Fuck me. Violate me. Deny me.

Skorngrim, 22 zealot.
I've also started a bit on a magus named Scather, rank 5 at the moment. Leveling him in the greenskin area, wasn't that long ago that I did the chaos zones on said zealot.
Our team is just leaving T1, so I guess I'll prod you if either your Magus catches up or we catch up with your Zealot. Likely the latter, PQs level you something fierce when you do them with a group (and man is it easy to Epic your influence in lower chapters. If only that kept ).
Got a 13 shaman too, but the zealot is my main and I dunno if I want to level another healer archetype.
I can't even level one to start with, so I can sympathize. ;-)
Zealots look awesome visually, but the actual gameplay never grabbed me. I will forever envy their tattoos.
FAT Friday night: Damn. I have to be asleep by like Midnight EST because of a need to get up pretty early on Saturday. I hope to get in some playtime with my new thespian family with my Chosen or Zealot, whatever is needed at the time. I can even get an Orc in there. It looks like we are sorely lacking in Black Orcs.
So I grinded through around 20,000 RP tonight, and got 7 Officer tokens.
To get my Annihilator Breastplate, I need 350 officer tokens.
So it will take roughly 1,000,000 RP to get a single piece of annihilator with the new token system. (roughly 3 or 4 realm ranks).
I think they should up the drop rate, or lower the number of tokens required.
Player kills are not a good source of tokens. Neither are keep takes or zone locks for that matter. They're just things that you do to get you to the points of the game that are great for getting tokens.
Invading a city. Then you get invader tokens. Each one of which is worth 5 conqueror tokens or 25 officer tokens.
You don't even have to invade. Just showing up and actually defend your city nets you a free invader token just for being there. You don't even have to be there for the whole thing if you don't want to. Just the last 10-15 minutes or so. You might want to be there though because complete the PQ? Shot at bags, which contain good gear or more invader tokens if you'd rather have those. Didn't win a bag? Well, you just got another invader token. Couldn't complete the PQ with attackers in the zone? Wipe them during the rebuilding stage when they can't respawn and run the PQ at least once without having to worry about them. And then of course 48 people constantly crashing into 48 people also makes for some pretty nice renown gains too.
I logged on to an Altdorf defense that had 20 minutes left. I walked away with 1 officer token and 3 invader tokens. That's 76 officer tokens for around 40 minutes of work.
I was annoyed at how much things cost too until that happened. Then I realized that for every Altdorf defense I see I can essentially walk away with 50 officer tokens minimum. Even more if you actually get the PQ going in your favor.
The only part I have a problem with is that it's actually easier to get invader crests on defense than it is while invading because the PQ boss is still a Benny Hill kite fight and doing that with anything resembling competent opposition is essentially impossible. You basically have to pray you get into an instance where the defedners are a totally unorganized group of pugs and even then it's not guarenteed since all they have to do is muck things up enough to wipe you a couple of times. I'm still annoyed that fully greater warded tanks can't actually tank the PQ Lord since we have a few in the Candymancers including myself. But that's another topic entirely.
But if your side is outnumbered and your city is getting invaded everyday? Hop into some city instances, sit back and watch the tokens roll in.
I wouldn't break down invader tokens until you have enough of them. When you start getting extras, go for it.
Also I would not waste officer tokens on annihilator gear. You will get them soon enough and will probably be best to get yourself conq. gear instead for roughly the same cost.
Futhermore, these costs are all subject to change of course. And also be sure to be careful when converting tokens.
However for the other tokens it goes Royalty > Warlord > Invader > Conq. > Officer... but it never goes back up the ladder at all. This is the part of the ladder that can only go downwards. Just remember that these tokens aren't a means of buying a complete set but rather helping you fill in gaps because some armor just refuses to drop.
Oh! I forgot to mention, zone captures also have tokens. I believe they give 5 officer, and 1 or two conq. ^^

at 29, i think you can spec into napalm at the expense of everything else. which is actually worth it. then get throwing arm, then sticky bomb/strafing depending on what you want.
grenadier is probably the premier ranged dps leveling spec, and it's not too bad in defensive pvp.

I haven't checked but maybe it'd be worth posting some form of this in the OP for reference, I spent a while yesterday trying to find the conversions for everything.
I now have 1 less officer token and 125 recruit tokens (I think) and no idea what to spend them on.

You can convert it back up.
Or you can spend maybe 30 officer tokens and turn them into the lower grades of tokens to complete previous armor sets if you are a completionist. And remember, Officer > Recruit > Scout > Soldier and back up to Officer again. You haven't lost a thing, just keep converting.

Man, I disagree with the keep take / zone lock portion of your statement. We've only been getting tokens for a few days and I already have 6 Conqueror tokens and 30 Officer tokens. I have participated in zero city sieges since the token system was introduced, mostly because my main character was broken (unable to login that toon, just looped back to character select screen) from 11pm Saturday until 9am Monday. So that was essentially Friday, a partial Saturday, and a little bit of RvR last night. These tokens came entirely from keep takes, fort takes, zone locks, with a few bonus from players drops.
One of those Conq tokens was a lucky roll on a player drop, but the rest were from a fort take and four zone locks. If that trend holds stable, I'll have enough Conq tokens for my first piece in a few more weeks. I think it'll actually be a lot faster than that, a friend whose main didn't break, who got to participate in additional fort takes, zone locks and the city siege this weekend is already up to 10 Conq tokens. So maybe a month of play to gather the tokens for a Conq piece? I can easily live with that. Regardless of what the actual timeline is, I think most reasonable people will agree that statements like "omg it takes one MILLLLLION RPs to get enough tokens!" are total hyperbole.
Oh, one other thing to mention regarding tokens. Make sure you're doing the repeatable quests in the oRvR zones, the ones that go scout BOs -> scout keeps -> take a BO -> take a keep -> kill 25 players. In the updated incarnation of these quest lines, when you complete the kill 25 players portion of the quest, you get 3 Officer tokens in addition to the XP and cash. Not a huge amount, but better than a kick in the teeth.
I'm still annoyed that fully greater warded tanks can't actually tank the PQ Lord since we have a few in the Candymancers including myself. But that's another topic entirely.
I'm not sure, but I think those PQ bosses might need Superior wards. Or is there an additional round of sub-bosses after the PQs? I know from the wards info that Superior wards are needed for "sub-bosses" in city instances, but I've only participated in a few sieges, half of which were completely bugged out, and the other half of which were utterly disorganized on our side, so I've never seen what happens after the PQs.
All depends on your point of view I guess. If you're really truly finding it impossible to get your Anni from keeps (which I could see depending on play times and with how retardedly difficult an upgraded keep can be) converting invader crests could be the easier way to do it if you just snag them out of city defenses. I had zero problems getting Annihilator thanks in no small part to being in an awesome guild but for someone who is stressing over getting their Annihilator set finished up though I'd say go for it. There's always going to be more invader tokens to be had and if you're still working on Annihilator you've probably got quite a wait before you can wear Invader anyways.
I probably won't personally be converting Invader tokens any time soon but then my WL has full Conqueror and my SM has full Sentinal. Possibly on my Shadow Warrior since I'm still missing the Annihilator chest on her but then I haven't really played her much either.
But in any case as it stands think that player kills, keep takes and zone locks are not really enough if you're trying to get Anni via tokens. You talking well over a thousand tokens for a set (I think?) and with drop rates what they are that would take forever.
Also as Cynic pointed out for anything higher than an officer token it's a one way street:
Conqueror, Invader, Warlord and Royal tokens that you convert can not be converted back.
Make absolutely sure you want to do the conversion before doing it.

This. I don't know what the drop number is for being in the WB that locks a zone, but I've received a whopping 10 soldier tokens from just being in Avelorn when it was locked by Destro. The oil potion costs something like 600 tokens, so...yeah. Not worth it.
So, someone said grenadier is best for engie solo leveling. At 28 I felt it was a little lacking with sticky and the air strike. Maybe I was doing it wrong?
I figure since they are all up in my face I'll run expert skirmisher and the +bal skill. That a good idea?

If your soloing, I believe in grenadier, you need to get Throwing arm, and basically aoe grind. Get you turret out near a decent amount of mobs, pull with acid grenade to lower their resists, then cycle your dots/nades. When they are on you, start spamming blunderbuss blast while making sure you refresh dots when needed.
Combined with your turret throwing bombs, you should be able to take down 3-6 mobs efficiently.
Hiryu02 on
Sev: Your gameplay is the most heavily yomi based around. Usually you look for characters that allow you to force guessing situations for big dmg. Even if the guess is mathematically nowhere near in your favor lol. You're happiest when you have either a 50/50, 33/33/33 or even a 75/25 situation to go crazy with. And you will take big risks to force those situations to come up.

Yeah that's how I was aoe'ing with a healer, but solo it seems to get me killed more often than not.
Pieces of hard to see weapon piles of which I've managed to accumulate 6 in the span of 4 hours. Only 396 hours of RVR until that oil pot.
Wow. So, either way it's not fucking worth it.
From the way it's described, it sounds like a one shot 60 second oil immunity potion. Which means that it's only good for one Keep siege. Given that it takes longer than 60 seconds to get through a keep door (even with a ram), and that keep doors can now be healed or buffed, the potion is worth jack shit, unless you want to burn 400 hours worth of your time to get the potion.

Every Live event is a 'limited event'. What you get from these events will probably never be earned again.
