So, someone said grenadier is best for engie solo leveling. At 28 I felt it was a little lacking with sticky and the air strike. Maybe I was doing it wrong?

I figure since they are all up in my face I'll run expert skirmisher and the +bal skill. That a good idea?

If your soloing, I believe in grenadier, you need to get Throwing arm, and basically aoe grind. Get you turret out near a decent amount of mobs, pull with acid grenade to lower their resists, then cycle your dots/nades. When they are on you, start spamming blunderbuss blast while making sure you refresh dots when needed.

Combined with your turret throwing bombs, you should be able to take down 3-6 mobs efficiently.

Yeah that's how I was aoe'ing with a healer, but solo it seems to get me killed more often than not.

You might need to tune the number of mobs down. On my slayer, I can safely do three, five is dangerous, the way I'm specced. You might want to check out the WHA Engineer boards. They have some helpful stuff up from time to time.

Sev: Your gameplay is the most heavily yomi based around. Usually you look for characters that allow you to force guessing situations for big dmg. Even if the guess is mathematically nowhere near in your favor lol. You're happiest when you have either a 50/50, 33/33/33 or even a 75/25 situation to go crazy with. And you will take big risks to force those situations to come up.

Thing is, I don't think they're bound to player (nothing on the mouse over says so), so a guild could just pool together when needed. Unlike tokens, which you really need to collect personally.

    for the engi grind:

when you're aoe grinding, throwing arm is not really that useful, as most everything will be in your face.

you want to run expert skirmisher, the +ballistics, and the + armor tactic. at sub-30, decide what keeps you alive longer.

at 28/29 thru abour 32, you're in a little bit of a rough spot for grinding, as the best spots (or best spot, if it's "the spot" in dragonwake) is gonna be a little hard to grind through. at 33, you should be able to non-stop solo pull stuff.

pick a spot where you can use LOS to group mobs up, set up a turret (as grenadier, the bombardment turret is prolly better, but i never looked at the numbers compared to the flame turret), pull with acid bomb, drop napalm, and use aoe's (blunderbus, the melee cone attack, and you'll want strafing run for the cone knockdown) to kill stuff.

limit what you're pulling until you can deal with whatever, and by the time you're 33, you should be able to take 4 level 36 mobs in your sleep.

you should be stacking ballistics, wounds, and toughness as a grenadier, as you're a little closer to damage than long range rifleman.

What rank were they? I've burned slayers and BWs down to the ground separately, but never at the same time. I usually throw chillwind, word of pain (with the tactic that increases WoPs dmg), then the spirit dmg/snare-if-cursed ability on any melee that makes a run at me to slow em down. If they get too close, I hit frostbite (disarm) and pound into them with quick casts until frostbite drops, then I root them with the Ice-cage thing. By that point, WoP w/ tactic goes off and destroys them. It's very gratifying.

If you're Calamity specc'd and pulled that dual-defeat off, my sorc will gladly learn at the feet of a master.

On the contrary, I'm pretty damn sure that we will be seeing quite a few new looks from Land of the Dead. I'm thinking tribal looks, some obsidian weapons, with plenty of gold accents.

Honestly I'm looking forward to going all tribal/savage-looking on my Slayer.

What morale 2 are you running, the AP drain or the Focused Mind one? Which one do you think is more worthwhile in running? I've had my WoP crit on mobs for around 1300 to 1600, but I've never paid attention to what it crits for on RvR yet, I'm usually running like hell and trying not to die. I'll have to pay closer attention on my PT sorc.

What level are you? I had 2 quests to do yesterday, find an airship lookout and go talk to some gobbos in an RvR lake. I'm assuming there'll be that + some more today (although I have no idea, still at work).
I actually had 3 because I hit 31 after doing the quest in the rvr lake and it let me get another one for the next tier. Guess they don't check for that. It's a secret.
