The problem I've noticed in T4 Badlands is that depending on the time of day either Order has a huge RvR numbers advantage or Destruction does. Maybe I've just been unlucky but it's very rare where there have been an equal amounts of Order and Destruction.

There are nights where it's completely one sided and which side it is can go either way. The thing is Destro on Badlands seems to have forgotten how to take forts so when it is totally one sided population wise we often will let them push the forts. Free renown, crests and bags basically.

For example today they pushed Stonewatch twice. Both times they wiped twice without denting the tank wall. Then they pushed Reiklwatch where they didn't even get to the inner door. After getting our bags and crests from Reiklwatch we capped Dragonwake and pushed Caledor. Last I saw we owned everything in Caledor and were just keeping them penned in their warcamp while pushing Praag at the same time.

Badlands is kind of odd right now. Usually the fight is pretty one sided, but which side is kicking ass seems to shift on a regular basis. But then again maybe this isn't odd. I can't really say, I haven't played around in T4 on any other servers :P

So this weekend I ended up playing in a hybrid PuG that was mostly this one guild the Bullies. They kept saying that everyone who was in the two WBs they were running needed to join their Vent server for orders.

So I did, because the IC was under siege and they wanted to get both WBs in a the same time (worked by the way)
AND I HAD FUN. Good groups really make this game shine

    That was fun.
And then the order ran away and all went to bed.

I was in both of those stonewatch wipes and that's what's bullshit. There's a countdown to rush up the stairs and everybody does when they say GO, but I spend a good 2 minutes on the stairs anyways thanks to friendly collision detection, having 5-10 fps, getting knocked back over and over because by the time I'm to the top of the stairs again the immunity has worn off.

there were MAYBE 2 warbands of order up there, and like 4 warbands of destro below.

Someone please tell me a strategy to get past the knockback wall of doom at 5-10 fps while getting stuck on your own teammates?

The Candymancers are always looking for new faces here on Badlands, just post a quick app on the forums and your in.

Most all of us are 40, but we do have alts freshly rerolled that are still in t1 / early t2.

At least 2 warbands, probably closer to 3. It's kind of hard to get a good estimate but we had plenty of people for the defense. From the attackers perspective it might have looked like less but we had the caster ledge and the ramp from the caster ledge to the top floor packed with RPDS and healers.

For getting past the tank wall the best advice I can give is have the itinitial rushers go up with knockbakcs ready even if it requires having standards out and using the slam ability. The other important thing is that nobody stops until they hit at least the caster ledge/ramp. Ideally you should push to the top floor and clear it before even engaging the Lord. The key to taking a defended fort is those casters and RPDS. If you can clear them the tanks/MDPS go down very quickly.

You guys had people stopping to fight the tank wall which is exactly what everyone defending wants you to do. The shitty thing is that this results in your force getting wiped because of 8-10 people who don't know what they're doing. And god help you if you try to politely inform them of the correct way to do it.

The strategy I've seen as being successful is having your forces stay down as some people fight upstairs, then when everyone has their morales up just rush them, morale down/away the tank wall and push all the way to the top, then slaughter your way down.

By eating, you mean using (in the performance monitor view) or it's noticeably slow and the hard drives obviously thrashing (stuttering and constant drive use)? 7 follows in vistas footsteps by allocating a ton of ram for certain things, instead of letting it sit idle. It's not necessarily going to town on the ram, just putting to use as much as it can - for the sake of speed.

I usually have around 50% of my ram in use, but that doesn't mean 7's using it - it's kind of queued up, just incase.

Win7 prefetches RAM, so it will always show a high percentage of use. As you need it, it will instantly free up what you need.

I have found that disabling desktop composition for the WAR executable (not launcher) does give a few extra frames. This *shouldn't* be the case, as it supposedly disables Aero while full screen 3d apps are up, but it seems WAR may not trigger this properly.

Also, the Land of the Dead is incredibly beautiful. I only walked around for a little bit (I had toy soldiers to drool over at GD too) but the scale is pretty overwhelming. I think it's time to start recruiting for the Mouths again and get ready for LotD.

Yup, rank 4 morales help a lot. Although if you have an AoE disable/silence/stun morale I'd suggest saving it and burning it once you hit the casters. Disabling the tanks doesn't help a whole lot.

nah this is how prime time has largely been playing on Badlands. Destro can push the numbers button and that's all she wrote.

IMO this is one of the biggest problems with WAR. You can get to a certain numbers advantage and the game is basically just over. The sad thing is Order are much better on Badlands than Destro. Before 1.2 Order and Destro had near even sides, with Destro sporting a slight numbers advantage, and Order was mopping the floor with them.
