That's usually the way to do it, you demote batteries to a remote, then they'll last for months. Because if batteries die in a remote, those batteries are dead.
The camera thing is because it needs enough juice to charge up the capacitor for the flash.
So is there any word on whether or not this doodad will be supported/required for the upcoming Punch-Out sequel? It's pretty much the only game in the console's foreseeable future that i still want to get, and it seems like something that could be affected by motion control that actually functions properly.

Doesn't require it, and from all the previews, it sounds like it doesn't need it—you just shake either the Wiimote or Nunchuck for left/right punches and use button presses to determine everything else. Everyone's said it works really well and gets you into the game, though you also have NES-style buttons if you don't want to shake things up.
Okay, so...gamecube controller it is. That seems to be the trend with so many of my Wii purchases, unfortunately.
I guess for a realistically controlled boxing game to work anyway, you'd need two remotes equipped with this thing, i wasn't really considering that the nunchuck wouldn't be upgraded as well. If they ever did that though, i would be all over it. It's really the best application for the motion + i can think of.
I still have the battery pack for my 360 controller from like 3 years ago and it still holds a charge of upwards of 10 hours.
Do you guys just plug it in every night no matter how long you've played? I always wait for the controller to just shut off and then I use some regular AA's if I'm still gonna play some more while the pack charges.

In my situation my battery pack died after about 4 charges.
I have 4 controllers and 4 nunchucks and no interest in new wii sports, so when I want to upgrade it'll be a pain. maybe no good 4 player games will require it hehe
I don't get this -- who would shell out for 4 remotes and 4 nunchucks and *not* be into WiiSports? What do those controllers get used for, then?
Mario Party 8, Mario Kart, Bust-a-Move Bash, Dokapon Kingdom, Marvel Ult. Alliance, Alien Syndrome and Ghost Squad mostly
we don't really play Marvel Ult. Alliance, or Alien Syndrome anymore though
EA SPORTS TITLES TO ARRIVE IN STORES BUNDLED WITH WII MOTIONPLUS
Both Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 10 and EA SPORTS Grand Slam Tennis Exclusively Packaged with Wii MotionPlus at Launch in Europe
GUILDFORD, UK.– April 21, 2009– EA SPORTS™, a label of Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: ERTS), today announced that the Wii™ versions of both Tiger Woods PGA TOUR® 10 and EA SPORTS Grand Slam® Tennis will be bundled with Nintendo’s new Wii MotionPlus™ accessory when the titles ship to stores this summer in Europe. In North America, Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 10 will be bundled with the Wii MotionPlus accessory at launch.
“This exclusive and limited-time offer is exciting news for sports fans who want to enhance their Wii experience for a great value with the new Wii MotionPlus right at launch with both Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 10 and EA SPORTS Grand Slam Tennis,†said Peter Moore, President, EA SPORTS.“The functionality of the Wii MotionPlus will help us deliver the authentic, true-to-life sports motion that will redefine the sports experience on the Wii.â€
Both Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 10 and EA SPORTS Grand Slam Tennis have been rated 3+ by PEGI and will have an RRP of£49.99 when bundled with the Wii MotionPlus.
EA SPORTS has at least five products in development that will launch before the end of 2009 designed specifically for the Wii, including:
Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 10
Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 10 coupled with the Wii MotionPlus accessory gives players an unprecedented authentic golf swing experience and the ability to control and work their golf ball around the course. The Wii MotionPlus accessory also adds to the gameplay experience with an all-new disc golf mode in Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 10. With Wii MotionPlus, gamers have increased fidelity and complete free motion of their disc and can throw it in any manner they choose. Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 10 is developed by EA Tiburon in Orlando, Florida.
EA SPORTS Grand Slam Tennis
EA SPORTS Grand Slam Tennis, launching first on the Wii, makes users feel like they are playing championship tennis in the comfort of their living rooms. Wii MotionPlus elevates the authentic tennis experience to a higher level with precise ball placement and added shot depth. With the accessory, tennis fans will appreciate the freedom to control the backswing of champions like John McEnroe, Serena Williams, Roger Federer or any one of their in-game players, as well as have the ability to run around a forehand or backhand. EA SPORTS Grand Slam Tennis is developed by EA Canada in Vancouver, B.C. The product will ship on additional platforms later in the year.
I would normally be all up ins that Tiger Woods bundle but I just bought Tiger '09 on 360 a month ago. I hope they bring the Grand Slam Tennis bundle over to the States.
Are those European prices listed the same as a regular Wii game? I.e., could we expect the Tiger Woods US bundle to be $50 at launch?

No that's pretty high. RRP is 35 pounds, although pretty much all games are sold at 30 pounds. As for how much they'd lower the price on something like this... I don't know, probably not a lot.
I'm betting it'll be $60 at launch. And I'm really tempted to pick it up. But I'm torn between Tiger Woods bundle, importing Hakuna Matata, or picking up Prototye or inFamous.. >.<
Heh, Tiger Woods is £30 on Amazon UK right now. The press release makes it sound like every version of the game will be bundled with the MotionPlus. I would go order one now before they jack up the price. If they decide to add the bundle as a separate item, you can always cancel it later.
Cherrn on
All creature will die and all the things will be broken. That's the law of samurai.
Quite a nice idea for those not interested in Wii Sports Resort and prefer to skip right to Tiger's latest outing.
EA SPORTS, a label of Electronic Arts Inc., today announced that the Wii version of Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 10 will be bundled with Nintendo's new Wii MotionPlus accessory when the title ships to stores in June in North America. Both Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 10 and EA SPORTS Grand Slam Tennis have been rated "E" by the ESRB. Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 10 has an MSRP of $59.99 when bundled with the Wii MotionPlus. Both products, which ship to stores on June 15 on the Wii in North America, will be available for $49.99 without the accessory.
An extra $10 is a fine price, and I desperately hope for a Grand Slam Tennis bundle—otherwise I might just buy the Tiger bundle and sell/trade the game off.
I wouldn't be hasty about getting rid of it. I doubt it's God's gift to man but in this case the motion controls may make it a really nice experience, despite already having a golf game. It sounds like they're putting a lot into this one, and people have already enjoyed the Wii Tiger Woods games.

Oh, I know I'd like it—golf games are my crack cocaine—it's just that I don't see myself juggling two different golf games so close to each other. And my friends would get pissed that I'm not building up my 360 character because I'm too busy playing on the Wii!
Someone on GAF noted that the Wii box has the Pay to Play logo on it, which probably means it's going to get the DLC the other games are getting. For reference, Tiger '09 has two extra courses as DLC, IIRC, but the main game has about 8-10 full courses and I've never had any desire to buy other ones.
Holy fucking shit, Tiger Woods 10 Wii was already a huge bought'd from me, but the deal keeps fucking getting sweeter. First it's packed in with a M+, now it has a disc golf mode? Fuck me this is awesome.
Just saw this on gametrailers myself; when I saw the headline I was more amused than anything else; after watching the video, I'm having a feeling this will be the Wii GOTY, for reals.
Yeah, same here. I was pretty ambivalent about it after playing Tiger Woods 2009 (although admittedly my major problems with it are most likely fixed with M+), but after seeing the disc golf video, this is shooting up my list.
Why are there so many games I'm interested in coming out in June?
Excuse my ignorance, but what the hell is "disc golf"? (Don't usually play golf games, only exception is Hot Shots Golf 2 on the psp which I quite enjoy)
I’ll tell you what happens in Demon’s Souls when you die. You come back as a ghost with your health capped at half. And when you keep on dying, the alignment of the world turns black and the enemies get harder. That’s right, when you fail in this game, it gets harder. Why? Because fuck you is why.
Excuse my ignorance, but what the hell is "disc golf"? (Don't usually play golf games, only exception is Hot Shots Golf 2 on the psp which I quite enjoy)
It's a game where you go onto a course, usually a park, that is set up with baskets (rather than golf holes), and you take with you a small set of frisbee discs; the objective being to start each "hole" and throw your frisbee(s) down the course, approaching the basket, and then throw your "putter" frisbee into the basket. You can take a variety of discs with you; usually people bring a "driver," an all-purpose disc, and a "putter." The "driver" discs are designed to travel greater distances when thrown, while the putters are designed to give the thrower more control (for chucking them into the basket). Those 3 types are usually sufficient for anyone but some hardcore Disc golfers have a large set for all different ranges and shots.
Most people play disc golf as a casual, approachable game to play with friends, kill some time, and enjoy the outdoors without having to be a master of some sport (like golf) and without costing a whole ton of money, since discs are cheap and the courses are often set up in public city parks. You can also play on a regular park without "baskets" and just determine your own goals, such as hitting a tree or landing your disc within a predetermined area.
Does anyone know if Tiger Woods will have hot potato style multiplayer with just one M+?
i want to say TW2004 did, can't speak for this one though.
It should—it's not like local multiplayer has you golfing simultaneously anyway. I'm pretty sure every other Tiger Woods on other systems lets you play hot potato–style. I can double-check with Tiger '09 tonight.
Here's a thought I had about Wii Sports Resort—since we don't know the other games it's going to have yet, what if some of them are actually MotionPlus-enhanced remixes of things from Wii Sports, like Tennis (Badminton?) or Golf? It might also explain why Nintendo would be giving EA and Sega some breathing room with its own sports titles before bringing out their own big guns.
I just want to say: I called it! Two more games confirmed for Wii Sports Resort: Golf and Table Tennis.
Nintendo of Japan's new commercials for the Wii MotionPlus and Wii Sports Resort use some very slick high-speed camera footage to illustrate the realistic motions used in, among other things, table tennis and golf. New in-game footage found in the commercial reveals that two of Resort's new minigames will be retreads of things seen in previous titles -- table tennis was covered in Wii Play, and golf, of course, appeared in the original Wii Sports.
Nintendo must be very confident that MotionPlus improves these games significantly. We still don't know how many games will be included in Resort, but if two of them are going to be encore presentations, there had better be a lot of games. We totally understand Nintendo wanting to take a second crack at table tennis, we must admit, because Wii Play's version is not where it's at.

It was even funnier when I had a digital camera that used AA's. The batteries that wouldn't keep the camera on would power the Wavebird for 30 hours!
The camera thing is because it needs enough juice to charge up the capacitor for the flash.
But yes, if you know someone that has a AA camera and doesn't use rechargables, ask them to please save those for other purposes!
