or buy them and put them on cats and set those cats free into the wild so that other people can marvel in their splendor while simultaneously petting an adorable cat

BRO LET ME GET REAL WITH YOU AND SAY THAT MY FINGERS ARE PREPPED AND HOT LIKE THE SURFACE OF THE SUN TO BRING RADICAL BEATS SO SMOOTH THE SHIT WILL BE MEDICINAL-GRADE TRIPNASTY MAKING ALL BRAINWAVES ROLL ON THE SURFACE OF A BALLS-FEISTY NEURAL RAINBOW CRACKA-LACKIN' YOUR PERCEPTION OF THE HERE-NOW SPACE-TIME SITUATION THAT ALL OF LIFE BE JAMMED UP IN THROUGH THE UNIVERSAL FLOW BEATS
Maybe I can post my second pass on this bird piece without everyone freaking the fuck out? Only part that is even close to done are the feathers around the red birds eye. I plan to dump a decent amount of hours into finishing this.

thanks robots! I hope to do some creature variation pages over break. I really enjoyed making that template and then just playing with it, something Ive never really done before.
Really like where your mixy birds are going, and always love your stuff. I know that's not really helpful, but you're doing great and deserve more responses. ;D
I can't stop looking at the gold and blue of that eye
Do you mean you just cant stop looking into that enchanting eye, or that its distracting you? I ended up dulling the ghost eyes because them being bright white seemed like too much. But I should maybe work with them some more for some other focal points.
I thought I'd copy bevotron and the rest of DA in doing this.
I don't have work from earlier than 2004 on my hard drive that with me. Its all on my brick back up drive that's at school. It was fun to look through my old stuff, but depressing because it really solidified that the events of the year really did have an effect on my production. I didn't finish as many pieces, and other than the few bird pieces I did I don't think I worked from the same place I usually do. There was just less overall in my archives, less work less things I really liked. Its really been a shitty time, I'm looking forward to a better year.
I do think I tightened my sketching while trying to figure out tee shirts, which has proved helpful in other areas. I did not color a lot last year, though, and I think that's regrettable. I do feel like getting printed was a good accomplishment, despite everything. I started to be a little less scared of the real world. Anyways I'm going to get back on my feet this year, I have too.
I've noticed improvements in your work in the last year. It's all tighter and more refined. Maybe you didn't produce as much as you would have liked but whatever... People have off years.
Oddly enough, our off years happened at around the same age bracket... It's some sort of rite of passage in the artist's gauntlet of trials I guess.
You'll be more on the ball this year I'm sure
I'm not sure how much work I'll be able to find from 7 years ago, though...
But yes, I've also noticed more refinement/improvement in your later work. Kudos! I'm sure 2010 will bring lots of good things for you and your artstuffs.
Don't sell yourself short. She was better than me at 15.

I think we could both use a stiff drink now, thanks to Iruka.
It is pretty badass that you, and a surprising number of other people, are able to shed their egos and show so many examples of their art in their early, developmental years. Even if I'd hung on to my early shit, I doubt I'd have the balls to post it like that. That earns you extra kudos!
Like, at least 4 extra kudos. That's a lot, in case you didn't know.
Bevo, clearly 20-21 is when bitches be crazy, and when shit goes down. Someone should have warned me.
ND you should give it a shot, it'd be cool to see. I'm sure you still have a few years of stuff online somewhere.
And buck, its not all that brave when you consider I've been posting here since 2003, sooo there's a chance that a chunk of people would remember half this work anyway. Even so, I dont think how bad I was at 13 matters much now. I wish I had taken the time to scan and save the comics I did in middle school. Back when I still liked anime and l33t, and was reading megatokyo. Good times.
Also I realized that if I draw a monster its pretty gotta be screaming. Or at least have an open mouth. I donno why I do that. I should draw some more growling.

Edit: also, I would either buy your shirts and wear them or buy them and frame them.

A pleasure; keep working hard and it will pay off. :^:
If Your gonna buy it, be cool and use my affiliate link:

But it looks awesome anyways! Top stuff!
DR how can you say such a thing!
I'm the same way- I don't really like to promote anything with what i'm wearing. I'd rather not pay to be a bill-board /mini soap box
But in all seriousness, that is very very awesome Iruka! I hope this jump starts some even more awesome stuff for you.

The only thing that proves is that Iruka could make some baddass Avatar fanart if she wanted to.
Coincidentally, the expression on your avatar fits your above statement perfectly.

First thing I thought too!
Great to see the progression Iruka, you have great things to come I'm sure. 8-)
This makes me want to do some Avatar fan art too lol
