Tell me what you think! I don't know if people remember my old threads (I couldn't find them with searching, so I assume they're lost) but I'm starting to feel a bit of progress in my work after a long time on an awkward plateau.

Just a few pages from things I've done in chronological order, then my newest:

Dec 08

Feb 09

Most recent, still playing with a new typeface for the banners though so it's a bit of a WIP still:

    Love it!

I can't think of anything really to crit except the readability of the font, but again these may not be the actual size.

I like the art (a lot better than shatterface), but if you're going to use that font you're going to have to post them in a larger format. The text is so hard to read I couldn't be bothered reading it.

I like the art style of Magpie and Crow. It reminds me a lot of Aubrey Beardsley, whose style I also like.

As for your comic, I think the text would be a little more readable if it were a bit higher res, but it looks quite interesting.

I love the intricacy and style of Magpie and Crow, but, like the others, I wish I could read the text. :(

I've updated the post so it should have higher res pictures linked in now. It's printing out at A4 so it should be readable, but I'm thinking of changing the text around a bit anyway.

Beardsley was my main influence in my style for this, in fact:

inspired the costume design for the Crow and shot in page two. My other main heroes/inspirations are Windsor McCay:

    And Charles Vess:

My newest thing, a one page poster comic I'm using for self-promo purposes:

Based on a true story. A few issues- not sure about the type, although I really want to keep it at the same time because of the Sailor-Jerry ish style of it.

And there's a few hands that look freaky, I know.

holy crap. i love the line work. I personally dont think using the trees to seperate the cells on the 'Bitterflies' comic works. Though i do like that you've considered ways to make the layout more visually interesting. The ciggy one looks cool, but the typography is a bit iffy. It looks like you've forced it to work with the illuistrations. But other than that, i think your art is fantastic.

If you're going to use that font I'd need to see it at double the size, I can't read that shit at all.

I likes it though, I just can't reads it.
