Should gays be allowed to vote?

BcruisaBcruisa Registered User regular
edited December 2006 in Debate and/or Discourse
Topic: Should gays be allowed to vote?

Discussion:
1. Gays account for only 10% of the population.
2. Obviously, they will only vote in their own interests.
3. Is this good for the nation as a whole?

I for one do not think so.

No, gays should not be allowed to vote.

In fact, nobody should. The outcomes of elections should be decided by random number generators.

In the event of a tie, Russian Roulette will be played.

The point of a democracy is that everyone votes in their own interest, so that the hopefully everyone's interests are fulfilled. It doesn't always work out this way however, and we often have to settle for having most people's interests served. At worst, we occasionally have no-one's interests served, as everyone's votes kind of get in the way of everyone else's ("I call it the three stooges effect!").
