ok i never have seen this before. somehow a dir got placed in my task bar as shown in the pic below. what the heck is the deal with that and how do i get rid of it?

    It's a dir? Looks like a standard tray icon for something. What happens on right-click?

    right click taskbar-->toolbars, uncheck whatever that is.

    unchecking under taskbar -> toolbar did the trick. thanks!
