Man, I never got to see the uncomfortable levels of closeness with Disney characters when I went to Disneyland.

I feel like I have to go again now, to get the full experience.

Also what the hell is Gabe's hair made out of, to be tamed so easily by mouse ears.

Also Disney treats their park employees as "actors" so they can get around pesky discrimination laws. This is why you'll never see i.e. a pregnant woman working one of the gift shops or food stands. True story, if you get preggos, they won't fire you but they may move you to a "back stage" position - which of course may not pay as much..

To be fair, though, the use of the word "actor" is not total bullshit. It is less than 100% bullshit by volume. They have worked really hard (and succeeded) to create a very specific experience. Not having dudes with facial piercings and chicks with tramp stamps is totally fair game. It's reasonable for them to make the call on exactly what look and feel they want.
I agree, however I also think that would be a terrible job

Oh yeah? Well now I agree with what you wrote! How do you like it when the tables turn, old fishyman/otterguy?

I also agree... to a point. Yes I don't blame Disney for not hiring a 5'-2" tall black man to play Cinderella...

But telling a pregnant girl she can't work the food counter? Mmm I don't know. That could be a slippery slope. Do you think if a company like McDonalds had that kind of discretion on who worked behind the counter they wouldn't use it?

Also, I always wondered how Hooters gets away with their employee .. uh... "requirements".

I have a rule when listening to somebody's argument: If they ever use "slippery slope" I completely ignore everything they have to say.

    It's a terrible concept. It's a terrible argument.

And you will likely be better off for it!

    It's a terrible concept. It's a terrible argument.

It's a valid argument, though. Some people apply it in invalid ways like "legalizing gay marriage leads to mandatory dog-fucking," but that's not the fault of the concept itself.

What I'm saying is that you're being stupid by ignoring what could be entirely logical and correct information based on an arbitrary rule.

In broader, especially recent, pragmatic usage, the term slippery slope argument alternately refers to a non-fallacious argument that such undesirable events are rendered more probable.

Slippery slope CAN be a bunch of stupid bullshit, but it can also be entirely reasonable and valid. Disregarding all uses of it is therefore stupid and dumb.

    From Facebook:
Robert Khoo: broke into a house last night and moved in. 3 hours later he realized his error and had to re-break into it to move back out before the owner arrived. :|

Probably not literal but that's funny as hell (and scary) if true.
