I think the engy buildings are fine. If the engy gets an update, I hope it's a better shotgun. I really enjoy using offensive placement (har) of sentries, but you have to run around a ton more, and it's excruciating trying to kill stuff with a shotgun that takes 4 or 5 hits to kill, and the pistol is a joke. I can't count the times I've unloaded all 6 shotgun shells into a spy only to have him disappear and get away. I'd settle for a shorter range if it just did more damage. The pistol would be fine if it were accurate, it just can't hit a damn thing and if it does it only annoys people. I'd also like to be able to shoot through my own buildings, but I think that's a pipe dream.

All this drama over one person getting kicked by an admin is silly. I've seen server admins kick people (including me) just for fun since Quake. Getting kicked for pissing off the admin is self-explanatory and probably deserved. I don't want to hear your arguments as to who was wrong, just get over it already. Jeez, people. I just had to wade through like 20 pages of petty bickering. I want my money back.

I think the worrying thing is that it sets a bad precedent. As you said, his team was winning. You are clearly one of the top players. While his actions can clearly be interpreted as 'annoy flippy' they can also be interpreted as 'kill their best player over and over'.

By kicking him, even if justified, as other people have said it is going to make people less enthused to kill you over and over. Need I remind you that killing you over and over is one of the best ways to win?

Even if someone doesn't go to the lengths he did, at what point are you arbitrarily deciding the threshold between 'legitimate tactics' and 'dickish behaviour'. You haven't made it clear exactly where this line falls. I've seen pro TF2 gaming where the top teams put one guy on purely the 'kill this dude' mission, nothing else.
YES! THANK YOU SCARAB! In 6v6, the sole purpose of the spy was kill the medic/sniper, THAT WAS IT. He would just die horribly if he tried anything else.

This is where I stated before, am I going to have to pause and consider, should I backstab this fatty or maybe it's the same sniper i backstabbed before, I should really give him a break.

Plus it's a fucking game and the whole point of the game is kill mans and stand on point.

Isn't this case about Tiny admitting he was being a dick and still doing it?

Where does all this "This can be interpreted as him playing in a valid fashion for his team" and "I don't want to also be kicked for this" come in

He admitted it, which makes it fairly cut and dry

It's dickish behaviour because he expressly said his motivation was to annoy. I don't see how that can be misinterpreted as tactics. He was purely trying to annoy me; there was absolutely zero strategy involved. And he did this for an hour, ignoring informal pleas and official warnings.

Don't think I can't tell the difference between someone just doing a good job of keeping me suppressed, and someone being malicious.

God, he must be laughing at all this.

edit: Zen, you weren't even there.

Either way the spy is going to fucking annoy the hell out of you. That's the spy's job! Why do you think I loved playing it SOOOO much before? It annoyed the FUCK out of people backstabbing them over and over. It was quite humorous. Even if he said it preemptively, he's just trying to kill you because it's his job & he KNOWS you will sigh after the kill (the best 8-)).

Seriously though flippy, if I had a dime for everytime verr or tiny hunted my ass down, round after round (while demo) I'd be fucking Richie Rich.

I've purchased the Orange Box via the 10 dollar special over this past weekend. I spent a couple days downloading TF2. My room mate kept pausing the download to play WoW and forgetting to restart the download :x.

Finally got to play it yesterday when I got off of work. I think someone should have warned me to wear a condom. The game is quite awesome. My (different) room mate has been interested in it as well, but absolutely despises FPS games. He loves it too.

I've heard the learning curve is pretty steep, but I found it fairly easy to pick up and play (course I'm a Tribes 2 player, and that learning curve is insane). Record is 19 points and around 8 minutes on a heavy. Admittedly, I just jumped into some random pubs... and I'm sure the recent sale has brought an enormous influx of frag bait.

I might have to jump onto the PA server later, see how the veterans play. I'll probably be spending most of my time scanning the ground for my various body parts.

This reminds me of two suggestions for the servers. No afk kicker if the server isn't full, and there should be a very short timer on an afk mover to spectate. It's hardly a penalty, and it lets the auto-balancer do it's job.

I don't think for a second he was consciously thinking of himself as being a "dick" while killing flippy. I'm sure he felt somewhat bad after the 15th time, but seriously, it's so much fun killing flippy.

I was in a clan with tiny for a real long time and I can honestly say, he is probably one of the most UN-dickish people I've met on PA. It's just really strange to picture him meaning any harm to someone.

This. Point gun at mans is never going be hard to understand. But the intricacies of knowing how a class worked and how to take advantage of its strengths while trying to not let its weaknesses get in the way, thats where the challenge is.

I also believe that if you want to play this game for realz, get a mic. If by some chance you happen upon a team which actually wants to co-ordinate and work together, then vocal communication is essential.
