Man, I really need to get used to my new mouse. Either I'm holding it slightly wrong or I just need to move my hand up a little more as sometimes I just stop firing even though I think M1 is depressed. I also can't seem to find a decent sensitivity for sniping yet and every time I adjust I end up over correcting

im so used to snapping when i shoot with the shotgun or whatever that i pull my aim off heads at the worst times
Also after getting drunk last night I had a fucking weird dream. After some usually bizzare crap involving my mother moving into a flooded farm house I left her for the evening and found that Flippy and tiny were arguing on the bench down my street. Then Ginger sticky-jumped from the bushes and murdered them both with his bottle with two quick crits. And then he was Kritz'd and Ubered at the same time despite there being no medics or healbeams anywhere and he began running towards me, flailing the electrified bottle and laughing.
So basically we can infer that I drink too much, game stress is stupid, and that Ginger is in my head get the hell out.
This is awesome, I'm awesome.
I had a TF2 dream a couple of weeks ago, I WAS the demoman on Goldrush 1-2, hiding upside down hanging from the bridge firing pipes at people and laughing imagining what their killcams showed. Then moving, just laughing so much every time I killed someone, then thinking OH SHIT GOTTA MOVE! and doing it all again. Laughing so much.
i just want to say that rak nailed my mentality on the head
it really is fun to kill flippy
the dude was a dick to me over steam, it didn't make me very inclined to stop killing him. i didn't harass him at all, other than in the context of the game.

Crouching prevents the drift incurred by two people occupying the same space. Crouching players don't slide as much. This is beneficial when a lot of people are crowded around a teleporter or a dispenser.

I was hoping something useful was gonna come up but all it was was "whine whine whine, flippy whine whine, spies whine whine, grief whine whine whine whine whine" for 20 fucking pages...
Some of us actually read the 162135 pages of drama in hopes for hat updates.
I read this post and was confused whether I was in the TF2 thread or the WoW thread (hat = honor among thieves). Then, I thought, maybe I was in both, at the same time.
Then my mind exploded.
But seriously, I think it would be better for everyone if we pretended that the last 20ish pages of this thread never existed.

The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it. ~ Terry Pratchett
As a person new to tf2, and this thread, I find the the drama very educational. I have learned more about the hierarchy of the pa servers from the "drama", than actually playing the game.
Does anyone have any tips for melee combat? It seems that if I get hit with a hand to hand weapon I tend to lag out for a second and then die from the resulting blows.
This is a great video. I played with you a night ago and you were one of the coolest guys I have ever played TF2 with.
So, to the PA TF2 community, I just want to say:
You're so cool.
You're so cool.
You're so cool.
What's that picture from?
True Romance. Don't know if it was answered yet but I've been working all day and don't feel like slogging through the argument to find out.

well, i won't be shooting flippy again. we really need to have a system where admins can't take actions in these murky sorts of things, either A) at all, or 2) if it affects them.

Now is show & tell, what have you learnt?
As for melee, there aren't any real strats, just back off and shoot the fucker.
By choosing to play on a PvP server, you have chosen to move the game difficulty slider from "Easy" to "Hard." While this makes attaining any goal all the more satisfying, expect the road to be paved with sorrow. Our goal as an in-game support staff is to take as much of a hands-off approach in resolving cross-faction player disputes as possible. If this does not sound like an appealing gameplay experience, it is strongly recommended that you select a Player versus Environment (PvE) server instead.

Thanks! Only reason I slogged through 5 pages of those shitty 20 is looking for a response to this, then I gave up and have been nicely rewarded for it I have no idea if it was answered earlier either. I'm guessing not.

Lag out you mean like video lag wise, or lag out ping wise? The difference would be between a stuttering game (sound included) and shit jumping around.
If it's video wise I might suggest improving your FPS by lowering graphics or tweaking the game a little. Otherwise melee just takes practice.
Edit: Also, don't mind the drama, this shit doesn't happen very often. THIS WAS POORLY TIMED TINY FLIPPY! YOU'RE SCARING AWAY THE NEWCOMERS!!!
The only 'strategy' I've found for melee is to not run directly at them but run to their side, jump when you get close, and whack them as you sail through the air past their head.
This will only work if it's just you and the other guy though. If there's anyone around just run at him flailing wildly.

I think we're still in the denoument of today's drama. Waiting for Job's revelation on the matter.
Well sorry if I read about 10 pages of it and then got bored and skipped the end to see if it was finally over... Seriously, annoying.
edit: so I gave up.
